About this cottage rental
Nestled in La Jolla, this lovely cottage for $180 per night is a great option for your next break. "Remodel done 2019" Our Two Room Guest House (Living Room in day / bedroom at night and Bedroom with full kitchen and 2 baths) is located in the beautiful Bird Rock neighborhood of La Jolla, known for it's winding tree-lined streets and seaside charm. The property is on a very quiet street only minutes from the Village of La Jolla with it's designer shops, galleries, and award winning restaurants. We are blocks away from the Pacific Ocean and the Bird Rock business district; restaurants, boutiques and cafes, including Bird Rock Coffee Roasters awarded Best Coffee Roaster in U.S.A. The property is adjacent to a green belt, and we are on a very quiet street, yet close by to all La Jolla and San Diego attractions. The Guest House features wood floors throughout. There are two rooms, one with a California King and top of the line fold-down Queen futon, and the other room is a living room in day and a bedroom at night with top of the line fold down Queen futon and raised 28' platform Day bed. There are two bathrooms with showers (one in-room). We have a new kitchen featuring granite countertops, custom cabinets and gas stove and oven. Microwave and Coffee Maker. Adjoining the kitchen is a dining and seating area. There is an outdoor seating area and barbecue. There is seating for dining indoors. We have also a washer/dryer. Parking in the front of driveway. Our La Jolla hideaway is only a few blocks from ocean and twenty minutes from Downtown San Diego, the airport and most major attractions! Check out our five star reviews! Keywords: Guest House

We had a blast at the property during our summer vacation .Starting from check in ,everything was smooth and easy. Clean,well maintained ,fully stuffed for family stay. You definitely can say that the owner is a handyman that takes a good care of the house. We have two teenagers who had their own ikea futons in the living room and i had a king size bed and my husband another ikea futon in the bedroom. Tons of pillows and blankets, shampoos, body washes ,soap ,all the kitchen accessories and cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, everything that you may need for a comfortable stay. We stayed for 9 nights and definitely will come back. And one more location is just amazing. 6 minutes walking to see an ocean sunset and get a cup of coffee or breakfast , or even dinner ,7 minutes driving to the Mission beach and 15 minutes driving to La Jolla shores Beach! Thank you so much! We are looking forward to come back!

Our family of 6 stayed here 5 nights for an extended weekend. The futons were great so my 4 teens each got their own bed. We did have to make up the beds on arrival, but there was plenty of bedding. The king bed in master bedroom was soft and comfy. There were tons of throw pillows, so we stashed them in the bedding closet.
This place has 2 bathrooms which was great for a group our size. The master shower is in the bedroom, not the bathroom, so that was a little weird with privacy, but we made it work.
We spent very little time at the place, mostly just to eat, sleep, and shower. We got prepared meals at Costco and heated them in the oven. Kitchen was adequate, with a full sized fridge/freezer.
This isn’t a super fancy place, but a great fit for our budget and a group our size.

The property is at the bottom of the house and you can hear the upstairs at all hours. A good place for young people to come in a group because there are three futons and a bed but not a great place for a couple if you're looking for a decent high-end rental.

The property was well kept and very clean. The neighborhood was great. I felt safe to go out for a walk/jog after dark. There was a parking spot for our car. Location is close to several beaches and a short drive to San Diego zoo, Sea World, USS Midway, and lots of other attractions. The host made sure the property was stocked with everything we could need, from bedding and towels, to coffee and ketchup. The fan and heater both worked well, but the house was at a comfortable temperature most of the time so we did not use them much. I would definitely return to this property in the future.

Host: very pleasant, but not immediately responsive or overly invested in your concerns. eg:there is no hairdryer - "because they get stolen".

We had this spot as our base for a week in San Diego. It was ideally located for all the kids attractions. There is also grocery stores, pharmacy etc in few mins distance making it a ideal spot for traveling family. The host is very communicative and the entire checkin / checkout was smooth without any contact. However, the best bit happened after our stay. We realized mid way on our way back that we have forgotten a phone. Scott had already tried to contact about the phone and then went out of his way to return it. I would whole heartedly recommend this spot to anyone.

It was a cute little place to stay. We used it mostly for sleeping and we're gone during the day visiting the sights and the beaches and a full day at Sea World. Only saw the owner once as we were not there much during the day. The cat upstairs triggered my daughter's allergies as he or she would lay on the outside furniture. But once she figured out what it was once she saw the cat she didn't sit out there for the rest of the trip. Other than that a very nice place to stay. My first trip to San Diego. And I really enjoyed the area and the cottage.

This is a great location in a very nice neighborhood, easy walking distance to Bird Rock Coffee and a lovely park. Short drive to the beach. The cottage was a comfortable size for our family of three and there are plenty of sheets and towels. The unit was overall clean, however there are mice living in the kitchen. I took several photos of them late at night. I tried contacting the manager and they never responded to us about the mouse problem. Additionally, one of the showerheads was broken when we arrived, and the manager said they would come to fix it but then never actually fixed it or responded to me to schedule a different time to do it. So, only one shower was usable. We enjoyed eating meals on the patio. Overall, a nice place to stay if you don’t mind rodents in the kitchen and only one working shower.

We are extremely happy with our stay! Everything exceeded our expectations.. Orlando the tenet above is extremely friendly and helpful when it came to giving us suggestions for perfect beach spots. This place was clean and comfortable! We recommend this place to anyone.. we will definitely come back!

We had a very comfortable and relaxing weekend here. Very clean, had everything we needed. We enjoyed walks to LJ Crafted Wines and The French Gourmet!

Very disappointed in check in. We were never given any instructions as to check in such as where to park, door code, which door to enter. Just had spent the weekend celebrating our daughter’s wedding and looking to relax in La Jolla for a few days! My husband removed all air fresheners from outlets because the smell was overwhelming and he couldn’t stand it. Why was there so much air freshner? Covering up the smell of bug spray? Strong smell of bug spray when we first arrived. Had lots of towels, kitchen amenities and was very clean. Thank you.

This rental is an absolute gem! The owners were quick to reply and very helpful. The outside felt like a fairy garden with the plants outside, very serene and peaceful.
