House that has it all, Hot Tub, Kayaks, Surf Boards, Snorkeling gear & more
About this house rental
Nestled in Honolulu, this attractive house for $345 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Located in the Waimanalo Beach Lots, which is only 25 minutes from Honolulu and Waikiki. Waimanalo Beach is one of the largest, cleanest, and most private beaches on Oahu. This white sand beach is very safe (referring to the ocean/surf) so you can relax and not have to worry as your family enjoys the ocean. Get away from the hustle and bustle and escape to this #1 rated pristine beach. Then enjoy everything this all-inclusive house has to offer. You will have everything at your fingertips to have a great time on the beach. Relax in the beach chairs or take the surfboards (2), kayaks (3), or boogie boards (2) out on the beach and catch some waves. If the water is flat use the snorkeling masks and fins (Quality equipment and enough for the whole group) to see what’s beneath the surface. For the more ambitious ones in the group discounts are available on scuba diving, dolphin and whale watching tours, and many other activities. After your day’s activities relax on the covered porch and listen to the waves roll in. Make dinner in the full kitchen or throw some burgers on the gas grill. Large living area with TV and DVD. The dining table has seating for 8 and kitchen bar has seating for four. The kitchen has everything you will need. There is also a washer and dryer in the unit so you can pack a little lighter. The master bedroom has AC but you won't need it as the cool trade wind breeze blows in the sounds and smells of the ocean. 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds or push them together to make a king. The living room has 2 queen futons for additional guests. Please don't hesitate to email if you have questions about the property, Waimanalo Beach, Oahu activities or even the islands as a whole. We hope to see you soon. Aloha Please note: We do not allow party/events/etc. at our property. Only guests on reservation should be at the property. HI Tax ID: TA 002 351 5136-01 We aren't allowed to advertise stays of less than 30 nights as required per law. Inquire for shorter stays and more details.

Great location with a short walk to beautiful Waimanalolo Beach!!! Perfect for a small family or group!! Can't beat starting or ending the night in the hot tub either. Great location out of all the craziness with easy access to all the sites!!! Hosts are so helpful & welcoming!!!

Excellent place for a peaceful getaway. The beach is incredible, safe and fun for all ages, and never very crowded. The house is well stocked with amenities and we were able to grill up some excellent meals and clean our clothes. Not very big but lots of sleeping options if you are ok with sleeping in the living room too, the futons were very nice for options. Also, having boogie boards, chairs and all made the beach even more enjoyable. Along with the detailed and interesting welcome booklet, Mark has thought of pretty much everything you'll need to have a great vacation!

We had a fantastic time in Hawaii and this rental was a big part of making that happen. It was great being off the beaten path a bit but still able to get to the North Shore or western side of the island in less than an hour. Having a very beautiful and almost empty beach, at least during the week, just a 3-4 minute walk away was great! Our kids were at the beach daily, either before or after our island adventure for the day, and really enjoyed taking the boogie boards out into the 2-3 foot waves. The rental was well setup, had everything we needed. Mark and Holly were both very personable and accommodating. If we make it back we'll most certainly stay here again!

Wonderful week at property. Bright and airy and immaculate. 3 or 4 minute walk to beautiful Waimanalo Beach. Great well stocked kitchen. Never heard a sound from owner who lives downstairs. Thanks, Mark and Holly!

The add did not explain very well the property or location. The path to the hot tub was difficult to get to even though the dogs were friendly but not what I expected. There was a massive ant and gecko problem. The cable tv didnt work very well kept cutting out loosing service. There was trash under the master bedroom bed. When asked about possible refund there was not one and the owner was not very friendly. Not till after it was time to check out. Dogs barked at all hours of the day and night. It was not on the beach like we thought when we arrived its 6 blocks from there did not have much amenities for the bathroom. Overall just glad we found a place to stay but not like this.

The best feature of this property was the location....2 blocks from Waimanalo Beach. Communication was satisfactory. Floors need a deep cleaning. We moved the couch over slightly to practice hula. The floor under the couches were very dirty. We had to wipe the wood floor prior to practicing. The ceiling lights and fan in the twin beds bedroom did not work at all. He told us to use the lamp in the closet. We were told he would repair it the next day, but that didn't happen. We again mentioned it a couple days before departing stating that the dining room light was not working either nor was one of the ceiling lights and fan in the living room. He said he would try to come by the next day, but I told him not to bother as it was already close to the end of our trip and suggested he make sure they work for the next guests. My suggestion to the owner would be prior to renting the property, check all the lights and switches, and do a deep cleaning.. We were asked to give a 5 star rating in exchange for an early check in, which I feel is quite unethical. I would definitely give a 5 star rating if it was warranted. The property met our needs; however, better housekeeping would be suggested for an overall improved experience. Mahalo for the stay.

My wife and 2 kids spent a week at this location and we were very happy. It has every modern amenity you would want in a house. Washer/dryer full bathroom, hallway in between the kids room and the parents room. Patio with tables and BBQ, dinner table, futons, coffee maker, hair dryer, you name its provided. If you are looking for a non tourist destination very close to the beach then this is a solid place. We had an issue with bugs (this is why I left 4/5 stars for cleanliness) but the owners were very response and communication was quick and helpful. Seperate entry and plenty of parking. All of the beach equipment is also provided; we used umbrellas, sand toys and there is snorkel gear available. The rooms, sheets and towels were very clean and a service comes through to provide a great living environment. There are mini-marts and grocery stores near by along with restaurants to get you through your stay. I would choose this location again for a long stay in Hawaii.

I thought we were renting a separate house, not a duplex. However the Hosts who live below were vary accommodating and gracious to our needs. The kitchen was easy to use. the dishwasher needed repair. It would be nice to have a second 1/2 bathroom. We had 5 adults and 2 kids. Location to Waimanalo beach is its best feature. Plenty of water toys for the beach. Bring your own life vest.

I read the previous reviews and was assured by the owner/manager that all of the previous complaints and issues had been dealt with. Some had, some had not. It just wasn’t for us. I didn’t spend this amount of money to live “as Hawaiians live.” I should have better understood the neighborhood, and other things. Some people love this, we just didn’t. I’ve already suggested to the owner that he hire a new cleaning service and that some time be spent doing a deep cleaning and repainting of the residence. The owner is a very nice man; the family happened to be out of town during our visit.

Glad we picked this place over crowded Honolulu. Great access to a beautiful beach. Owner is friendly and accommodating. Lots of beach gear to pick from. Construction on highway 72 caused a little inconvenience but not a big problem.

The location was ideal. Hot tub was enjoyable. Quite a few amenities were stocked which was great. It was nice to have so many towels available and to have a washer and dryer there in the kitchen. There wasn’t much among the snorkel gear that worked for us, so I wouldn’t rely on that. But I’d you want to go snorkeling, you can get some good gear at Costco there on the island or rent it. Some in our group didn’t love the pillows, so if you’re picky about that, maybe bring your own. Also, the ice machine didn’t work, so if you’re planning on ice, make sure to fill the trays in the freezer.

Mark’s place is comfy, and located in the best neighborhood on the island! Walk to beach for sunrise
We loved having access to beach, to kaila and Waimea ali town and the Ko’olau range. Mark and his family were very generous with their space. The home is small but comfortably sleeps 5. Definitely funky and homey!

Looks way better in the video than in reality. The current family is not the family in the video. It seems to have been let go over the years. Here are just a few things that need attention. 1st a very DEEP CLEANING and de-cluttering. Several minor repairs needed. Bedroom doors don't close properly, dishwasher doesn't drain, grill is filthy, light fixtures falling off ceiling, clothes washer needs repair, screens off tracks, bath fan covered in lint, fridge door doesn't close properly. Friendly advise is to take it off the market for 30 days and clean the place up. Great location just expected a way nicer place. Mahalo!

The owners are nice, it was unfortunate to hear the construction until 8pm every day (and the power outage for a few hours) - but some of it was to improve the location for the next people staying there...the location was very nice

Great location close to amazing beach
House is in a nice quiet neighborhood, short walk to the beach which was never crowded, even on Easter weekend. Having all the beach toys at the house was super convenient. Mark set us up with a dolphin snorkeling tour which was amazing. Great place for a more low-key visit to Oahu.

I don't know where to start, so here we go with a tip: Don't believe the reviews or happy video associated with this place. After this experience, I've vowed to simply ask friends I know rather than trust reviews from people I don't know. If you don't do this, always check the worst reviews first to see if there isn't something fishy.First, after I paid for the place, I got a message saying there was construction going on, but that it wouldn't interfere with the rental. Keep in mind this was a vacation I was planning for my entire family, including two kids and in-laws.I arrived at the location at 3PM on the day of check-in, and called the owner to see if we could check-in early. He said the place was still being cleaned, so I said no problem, we'd just check out the nearby beach and wait until our scheduled time at 4.When we arrived, the cleaning lady had also just arrived, and the place was filthy. The construction was going on on the other side of our rental, and the place was littered with sawdust, especially the deck. The cleaning lady did a very quick cleaning, and we spent a good deal of time after she left sweeping the floors for ourselves. Not only was there dust everywhere, the window screens and bathroom vents were choked with dust, indicating the place had not had a thorough cleaning in a very long time. My 1-year old brushed against one of the low window screens and his shirt was covered in dust.My wife set her pumice stone on the coffee table in the family room, and several minutes later there were very small bugs crawling on the stone. Disgusting. We stayed five nights. The construction crew came every day except Sunday, working between 8:30 AM until as late as 6:30 PM. Hammering, power sawing ... not a place to enjoy ourselves. When we arrived, there was construction material all in the backyard and there was no access to the advertised hot tub. We called about this and they did make some space, but after other surprises we found, we ended up not using it.Cockroaches, yes., All dishes and glasses, countertops, tables seemed covered with a stickiness. The biggest kicker of all was this - after our stay, the owner emailed me to apologize for the construction, and offered to refund one night ... if I gave a 5 star review! Is that even allowed?I was 2/2 of good experiences on VRBO, but this was by far the worst I could imagine.Sorry, only getting 1 star because it's required. Should get 0.

Mark, the owner/host, was personable, very helpful and hard working. He responded instantly to our needs when the WiFi went down and when we ran out of toilet paper. Rely on his information about attractions rather than the other sources. The rental does come with swim fins, bogie boards, beach chairs and an ice chest. He also has many guides on attractions, some books and videos. It looks like he had a surf board too, but I didn't inquire about it. The kitchen has all the basics. The 7/11 closes at 7:30 and you are more likely to win a scratch it rich coupon than find a parking place at the local market. Things cost more in Hawaii. The only thing I found that cost the same was the $1.59 hot dog and drink special at Costco. I recommend stocking up at Costco. The last stretch of road on the way to the rental is a two lanes and often crowded. This is a popular area and there is lots of traffic. The beach is beautiful. We went to see the sunrise and found locals body surfing before work and enjoying their morning coffee. I had a good time my kids and son-in-law loved it.

Comforts of home; Walk to the beach; Hot tub to boot
Great house and great location. Just a couple blocks from one of the best beaches in Hawaii, with nowhere near the crowds of many other beaches on this island. Away from all the traffic in Honolulu and Kawaii but close enough to drive there easily for supplies. By far the best equipped house we have ever rented...lots of beach toys; just about anything you can think of for the kitchen; lots of bedding, towels, etc. The hot tub was a great bonus, as was the outside shower for rinsing off sand and the deck (complete with BBQ and table). The koi pond was also a nice touch and the waterfall helps drown out the regular noises from local traffic, roosters, etc. if you want to sleep with the windows open. The street it is on doesn’t see much traffic and the walk to the beach is pleasant. The owners live downstairs, though we didn’t see them much. They were very responsive whenever we had a question though and seem to be very nice people. On the final day, when a sick kiddo changed our plans, the owner even found another rental where we could hang out until it was time to head to the airport. Way above and beyond. Highly recommend.

Great location right near the beach
This was a very nice house. Be aware that it is on the second level with other people below you. We weren’t quite sure if they were the people renting to us down there or someone else, but they had a massively loud party one of the nights we were there that went into the early morning hours. I’m sure it was more of an isolated incident but something to consider if you have travelers with noise sensitivity. The house itself was well stocked, well labeled and provided lots of great information of the area. And the beach is right there! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
