About this condo rental
Situated in Camden, this attractive condo for $260 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Leave the car in the driveway! Our rental apartment, fondly called Capt Smith, is on the first floor of a beautifully restored Victorian home, within short walking distance to the heart Camden, with its restaurants, shops, opera house, library, beach and all that picturesque Camden Harbor has to offer. You'll love the convenience of single-level living, the property's location to town, as well as the homely, comfortable, clean accommodation with all you need. If you're looking for additional space, Capt Moore (a fully furnished and equipped two-bed apartment) is also available, and is connected to Capt Smith via the laundry room. There are three bedrooms all with queen size beds. One bedroom has a full bathroom ensuite. The other two bedrooms share a bathroom which has a shower stall. Fully equipped eat-in kitchen and spacious living room that leads out to a gracious front porch with tables, chairs and gas grill. There is a shared laundry room and basic laundry supplies are provided. This apartment is available on a minimum 6-night weekly rental (from Saturday to Saturday during the summer months). Beautiful and authentic Victorian home. Original stained glass windows, woodwork and details. Meticulously clean and cared for. Beds are so comfy. Completely stocked kitchen and bath. Living room has great seating, fireplace and flat screen tv. Wifi, books and games too. Personable hosts are on site and cared for us like family. Ask about the pet friendly apartment. We will book again and again. The Captain Taylor House is like staying at your favorite Grammie's with all the modern touches and steps away from town.

The house is an easy walk from town, has a well-equipped kitchen for preparing meals, and a nice covered porch to sit on with your coffee and greet the day. We had a lovely time!

We very much enjoyed our stay! The unit was spacious and nicely furnished. The kitchen was well stocked with with dining/cooking implements. The only thing we were missing was an oyster knife, which we gifted the house upon leaving! The location was an easy walk to everything in downtown Camden. We would definitely consider staying there again.

Our stay was just lovely, beautiful Victorian home that is spotless and comfortable. All we needed was provided, the location was as advertised as a 5-7 min walk to downtown, which was so much better than driving down and trying to find a place to park. The July 4th week was the perfect week to be there, weather was great. Can’t recommend highly enough.

You will LOVE this home! A charming old victorian, but updated with modern amenities. It's roomy and was perfect for our family with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths.
Jenn, the owner has stocked the kitchen with everything you will need! Jenn and her husband are lovely people and live upstairs in the home. They have put together the most thorough and informational guest book that I've ever seen in a rental, including best beaches, top things to see while visiting, what to do on a rainy day, and other things.
We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and walking into Camden (about a 5 minute walk) for breakfast, lunch, or shopping. This house is immaculate. You will not be disappointed! We will be staying here again. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!

I don't think there's a single thing you'd need to augment the kitchen essentials to cook for a family. Weather permitting, the porch is a wonderful place to relax in the afternoon reading or sip a glass of wine in the evening. Breakfasts on the porch were perfect for that. Also used the grill on the porch for several meals reflecting on the day. Captain Smith was a great choice. Jen and Erik were wonderful hosts; timely answering what few inquiries we had.

We very much liked our home vacation rental. I sat in the living room in the morning with the sun coming through the stained glass windows. The whole house was really nice. We enjoyed walking to town and exploring the area. We would love to go back again. It was wonderful. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Great Week in Camden
The owners have created a top-notch rental property. Accommodations were so complete, we were left wanting nothing. The home is tastefully decorated and very, very comfortable. The location is perfect ... within walking distance to all downtown activity. The owners are friendly and committed to making great vacation memories for their guests. If we visit Camden again, this will be our choice for accommodations.

Wonderful Apartment in Camden, Maine
Captain Smith’s is one of the nicest rentals I’ve stayed in. The apartment was spotless, spacious, and super comfortable! Jen thought of every little detail- down to the bowl of mini peppermint patties in the living room! She even set up a Christmas tree for us! We loved sitting in front of the cozy fireplace, reading our books or watching tv, and appreciated the well-equipped farmhouse kitchen, easy parking, and short 5-minute walk to downtown Camden.
Jen & Eric were warm and welcoming and super responsive to our needs. I hope I get the chance to stay at Captain Smith again.

Amazing and so much more!
First off, have to say that Jen and Erik are the absolute best hosts, both super accommodating and nice! Their attention to detail in the Capt Smith went above and beyond all expectations. Their place is beautiful, super comfortable and is so welcoming and well stocked that you feel at home as soon as you walk in! I hope to be able to return someday! It was just a quick five minite walk to town, the quaintest little town in Maine! The harbor is so beautiful. Don't miss dinner at The Waterfront!

Excellent in every respect!
This was our third stay at Capt Smith, the second since Jen and Eric took over. We love it and it has only gotten better each year. Convenience to town and the waterfront is ideal - not so close as to be impacted by crowds, but an easy walk to shops and restaurants.
House is extremely well equipped, every kitchen item and basic you could hope for. Even coffee, tea and accompaniments.
Jen and Eric are very gracious, responsive and friendly. You really feel you are guests in their home. They have three lovely daughters, two big dogs, three cats and an evolving number of chickens! They are always available (they live upstairs) when you need them, but very quiet and not at all intrusive.
I couldn’t recommend this place more highly. We’ll be back.

Perfect home in perfect town with all comforts of home
Spacious charming and well appointed home with private wrap around porch. Short walk to town. All of comforts of home with well appointed kitchen, showers with soap and shampoo dispenser, shared laundry and parking,. Loved the character of the historic home that has been tastefully renovated and feels fresh and very clean. Definitely want to return!

Capt Smith house was fantastic!
Jen and Eric made our stay more than we ever could have imagined! Their attention to detail ensured that we had everything we needed. The house was very clean and comfortable for our family of 4; 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The house was located close to town so we could easily walk to all of the stores and restaurants. Jen and Eric were very friendly and so helpful in answering our questions. They provided a binder with tons of information about the area as well as ideas for rainy day activities. We are looking forward to a return trip to Capt Smith!

We were able to drive to different towns & back for day trips. We throughly enjoyed the area & will go back at some point. It was a perfect time of year, not too crowded.
