Come Stay On The Farm In Our Lovingly Restored 1909 Arts And Crafts Farmhouse
About this farm stay rental
Situated in Kelowna, this lovely farm stay for $241 per night is a great option for your next break. At the heart of the Okanagan Valley's fruit and wine country, Mission Creek Country Inn is set on a sheep farm on Mission Creek between the historic log buildings of Pandosy Mission, Kelowna's first European settlement, and a regional park. The farm's 37 acres of pastures and woods are more like the Kelowna of 1909 when cattle and sheep were more common than today’s orchards and vineyards. Our place isn’t luxurious in the usual sense; in over one hundred years of continual use the house has acquired some quirks and wrinkles. The farm, with its trees, pastures, flowers and animals is a special place which we feel happy to share with those who appreciate such things. That’s our luxury. We’ve done our best to create a quiet rustic refuge for you to use as your headquarters to explore the Okanagan and experience a restful pace of life. You can visit the nearby wineries, golf courses, Okanagan lake, or the historic Kettle Valley railway’s Myra Canyon, or ride a bike on the nearby creek-side "greenway", then come home and visit out on the shady front porch—just like grandma usta do. Owners Mark and Amber live in the basement and will do everything we can to make sure your stay is comfortable and relaxing.

This is the second time we have stayed here. It's a perfect meeting spot for three families, with lots of sleeping space, big kitchen and table, and so much space to play outside. Our family loves this property. The house is so fun with lots of staircases and unique charm. Comfortable, friendly hosts and quiet property for a great price!

The property was lovely. A very well cared for farm house. There was lots of room for our group., It is the perfect place for multiple families staying together. The patios are huge and welcoming and the kids loved the 'hammock hangout' patio in the back. I loved looking at all the interesting knick knacks and posters. Tonnes of stuff in the kitchen - you won't be looking for anything.
The owner does stay downstairs for the stay and comes into the kitchen to empty garbage and compost daily - which I appreciated, but perhaps a different group of guest may want more privacy. The kids were sad there were no sheeps and goats like pictured on the listing, but there were donkeys, goats and horses next door to see.

Excellent place and space.
Cleanliness should be improved. Besides that, very enjoyable place.

We could bot ask for a more peaceful place to stay. Amber and Mark were wonderful hosts. We would recommand anybody to stay at this inn.

Really enjoyed our stay. Enjoyed the unique home. Was comfortable and room enough for all nine of us.

Our family of 9 (6 adults, 3 children) stayed for 3 nights, it’s a very unique heritage house, tons of space, bedrooms are spacious. You get the feeling that you are out of the city but only minutes to downtown. Easy access to the Mission Creek trail. This house has no air conditioning which was an issue as we hit a heat spell, owner has fans in most rooms.

It was adecent place , but cleanliness was an issue as wel as security, there was no way to lock oustside doors and with the host living downstairs, there was only a curtaain between us, other than that it could be a better place with locking doors and better cleaning, the balcony floor is in need of a good pressure wash, but I cant be toatally negative, the host were very friendly and the house does have alot of potential, for the most part we enjoyed our stay

Stayed for a family wedding, great for families, so much space!!!

We gathered from four corners of Canada to meet at this lovely, welcoming, roomy old home. The kids played comfortably in the house and yard. The large porch offers lots of great visiting space. The huge kitchen was great for many cooks and buckets of food. We were there during a heat wave, but with plenty of fans provided we managed to keep comfy. The large dining table easily accommodated us plus visitors, with a second large games table in the front room. We just had a super time.

Beautiful craftsman style farmhouse with unique features throughout. Creature comforts were lacking (no A/C, no basic kitchen supplies, no coffee maker) and no way to secure the premises when away. Owner/manager lives downstairs with direct access to the rental space blocked off only with a curtain. All in all a good stay and very affordable for the number in our party but definitely farmhouse.

This is a large house in a beautiful property nearly adjacent to the mission creek greenway. Right on the urban rural divide. Friendly helpful owners/managers live on the property. Prompt and effective communicators. Only downside is no laundry facilities. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

its a beautiful old house with lots of charm and we liked the location. Being it is old, it is noisy. We did find it odd that the owners had a direct connection to the unit with no lock. We came back on the first evening and the owner (we assume) was standing in the kitchen, only to make sure we were settled. Didn't bother me but some others thought it was a little invasive.
All in all. Good spot, nice big front patio. Well stocked kitchens. I feel like it was priced accordingly.

We were five adults and two teens and there was plenty of room for everyone to have space when we needed and large gathering space when we wanted to visit. The home is beautifully charming, with history oozing from every nook and cranny. We were all thrilled with our stay, absolutely recommend!

charming old farmhouse and property close to many wineries and other attractions. Wake up with the roosters in a lovely rural setting.

We did not stay.
The conditions were sub standard to the point I drove into Kelowna to buy cleaning supplies, the owner told us cleanliness is subjective
Grease, throughout the kitchen. Food smeared inside the fridge owner said he had had chocolate cake. I told him we didn’t need to know that. The bathrooms were filthy with fecal matter on the toilets and stains around the sinks. One gal felt she had to ask if the bedsheets had been washed. He said yes but didn’t reply when she asked if the duvet covers had also been laundered for our stay.
The outside property was littered with junk - hoarding issues?
I asked when the advertising photos were taken and he admitted they were not recent.
Fortunately, We were able to find accommodations in Kelowna at a hotel
For over 30 years, I have travelled using VRBO and have never experienced anything like this..
The owners did refund our money with the exception of about $180.00 which he said could not be returned. We believed this was the right thing for him to do.

The farmhouse is a unique space and is a great place for a big group to stay. The kitchen has lots of dishes and there is lots of space to visit and for kids to play. It's not close to downtown, but it's a beautiful spot and not too far from restaurants or wineries or activities in Kelowna.

The cast and crew of our show stayed here and we’re delighted! They loved the relaxed atmosphere and style of the place. They picked grapes off the vine and sipped coffee on the veranda. It was wonderful. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Property was awesome. Obviously a much older property, but it was perfect for our family. Location was awesome, and the house was fantastic. Would absolutely stay there again next time my whole family visits Kelowna.

A group of seven of us recently stayed here on a long weekend this summer - we wrote this review as a group.
On a brief tour of the house by the owner he stated there was no A/C. The online description of the property indicated that the home had A/C, so this was really disappointing as the weather forecast for the weekend was uncomfortably hot (it ended up being high 30’s to over 40) Each bedroom had one, sometimes two, small fans but when the outside temperature doesn’t fall overnight, the house never cooled off. We left our fans on during the first day when we were off the property and when we returned we found the fans in each of our bedrooms had been turned off and there was a note asking us to keep them off when away due to fire risk. It seemed like the owner was going about the house each day when we were out.
Had we known ahead of time that the owner had full access to the area we were staying and would be in that space when we were gone, we wouldn't have stayed here. Even if we overlooked the layers of dust in the bedrooms and on the grates of the fans, the mildewed shower curtains and grimy sinks and toilets, or cardboard jammed into the window frames as a replacement for real blinds, the boundary issues and electrical overload were the most concerning of all. We also think that the rental details online have since been updated to reflect that there was no A/C in the home.

We enjoyed our time and the character and novelty of the 1909 home. I really enjoyed chatting with the host.

An unique farmhouse experience with lots of charm and character. There are plenty of space indoor and outdoor, lots of bathrooms. Spacious kitchens and dining area for all 11 of us. The kids had a blast with all the connecting doors, toy room, and just chatting and learning with Mark.

A beautiful house with a lot of history. Very big, a lot of Space and a Nice front porche. We were 10 and had a lot of Space. It is very quiet as it is a little bit out of town. Mark and Amber took the Time to explain us about the house and every day they made sure everything was fine. Very good communication. In the equipment, it is written air conditionning but it is a mis take…if you read the text, it is written that there is not. The beds were very clean but we had to go over the bathrooms and some dishes as they were dirty. Otherwise, it was perfect!

Mark and Amber were hospitable, lovely and thoughtful. They were mindfully aware of privacy and helpful when we had questions. The property has so much good history and clearly the love and dedication of a community has gone into creating it's quaint and restful environment. The decor and amenities are so warm and inviting. Our children felt like they were in a beautiful farm adventure everyday. The hammocks and many spaces for reading and games was restful and well thought out. The beds were comfortable and all areas were well stocked. We cherry picked just across the road and there are all amenities within minutes including beautiful fishing creeks and biking trails. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay in this Mission Creek farmhouse. The house was roomy enough to allow for two families (and a grandma) to stay comfortably. The front porch was a huge hit with kids and grownups alike. There is a lot of stuff in the house, as mentioned in some other reviews, so finding space for groceries for a group of 9 was challenging but we made do. If you're looking to stay somewhere a little bit quirky, feel like you're in the country but with all the amenities of town just a couple of minutes away then this is the place for you!

The house was of course beautiful. Many places to sleep and many bathrooms to choose from. The location was perfect because it was a 5 minute drive to the lake or a 1/2 hour walk via Mission Creek Walk Way. We enjoyed every porch, every room and the well equipt kitchen.

We had a wonderful time here, our son got married and the house was so great to have everybody at one place. Yes the floors creaked but that’s what makes it unique, we did worry about the noise level as the owners lived in the basement but I’m sure they are used to the creaking. Such a nice time was had visiting as there is no tv to get distracted. Lots of board games and puzzles, the wrap around porch was our favourite place to visit with everyone and enjoy the outdoor. Day of the wedding, there was at least 20 people getting ready and it never felt crowded which we appreciated. It was a little strange hearing the owner at night coming up emptying the compost and what not but we were aware that this may happen reading another post but we never felt our privacy was invaded, wonderful people wonderful house, we will be back again one day

Our family had a wonderful weekend gathering together and we were thankful to find this reasonably priced VRBO - it was like stepping back in time to 1909. We had a big Easter Egg hunt in the front yard! We loved the character of the creaking floors and just spending time together washing dishes! AND thankful there were no TV's so we spent the weekend connecting with each other. Recycling was easy with Mark popping in and out assisting us with all our garbage!

As a group traveling out for a wedding this location was perfect. Close to downtown but just enough out of the way from the business of the city. The views and calmness of the surrounding area were perfect. The house is big enough for a group/ family and lots to look at in the old historic home. Creaky floors and hammocks add to the charm. The beds weren't great, but amenities made up for it.

Our family of 8 adults and a one year old enjoyed our stay at this historical home. It was large enough to accommodate everyone and had great access to the activities we planned in the area. Mark was easy to work with the property was clean, quaint, and spacious.

We Loved this rustic house on the farm setting if you want a stay that is quiet in laidback atmosphere this is the place . Our kids who love their electronics more than life itself never missed it , all they did was play outside , rode bikes and just had lots of fun just like the good old days . The owners are great . If you want something different this is the place for you

We had a wonderful time staying at this rental. The owners were very welcoming and informative about the house, its land, and the neighborhood. It truly was a comfortable heritage home stay. Thanks again and would recommend to family and friends.

We stayed at Mission Creek's Inn early august 2021, 2 families of 5, with kids ranging from 10 to 16.
The location is amazing, really right next to Kelowna, but in the farm fields. We wanted to visit some wineyards while being over there, and it was quite easy, there were a few within minutes of driving.
The house is spacious, old but beautiful, very well restored.
The host (Mark) is very responsive. He was quick to respond when we were messaging prior to the stay, and was around for any questions we might have had while staying there.
Good to know prior to booking:
- there is no cold air/air conditioning. As this is a very old house, it is not surprising. It was however quite hot when we stayed, and even if things do cool down outside in the night, it was hard to get the rooms upstairs cooling down, even if we kept the windows open and the blinders up. Maybe the weather was unusually hot though, hard to say for people out of town visiting for the first time!
- Mark and Amber live in the basement. It is called out clearly on the description, and we knew it when we booked. We didn't realize that it would make us a bit more nervous around the house with the kids. They can move around fast and not necessarily in the most quiet way, so we had to remind them to be careful not to make too much noise since the hosts live in the basement.
- The owners are definitely around. Mark is kind enough to offer to help with garbage and compost, but that also means he'll have to come upstairs once in a while. He tries to do this while we are out, and i personally don't mind, but i know it made my wife a bit uncomfortable.
- Eventhough we're quite used to recycling and composting in general, the 20$ penalty warning sign (if you get compost/recycling wrong) made us nervous! We were actually preferring to throw some of our garbage out, on the go, instead of at the house when we were not sure what to do!
- it is true that the internet can get slow. It was ok for me, but my kids were sometimes complaining! Not a bad thing since my kids spend too much time on the internet anyway.
- there is a grill outside (charcoal type), but i'm not sure if it was used recently. It was full of wood and paper, we didn't even try to use it in the end.
- the front porch is really, really nice. Kids and adults were often fighting to get the hammock on there, it was a really nice place to relax and enjoy the day/evenings.

There was so much history in this house--a unique and peaceful experience! The owner was great to deal with and provided many options for activities for our kids. We had 5 adults and 4 kids staying here and there was enough space for all of us.

The farmhouse is big enough to accommodate a family or friend gathering. Be aware that the showers and sinks are vintage too. Everything creaks as expected for an old house. I was disappointed that the wi fi wasn't at its greatest strength for me to communicate with friends/families online while I stayed there. I contacted Mark but there was no response and I had to wait until I get home. There are clutters in the kitchen and about to which I am not a clutter fan. There are 2 bins in the kitchen, one for waste and one for compost. After I read a warning sign of mixed wastes, there would be $20 fine. It was an okay stay.

My fiance, my family and I stayed at this farmhouse for 4 days and it was just perfect. The owners are very welcoming and nice and we enjoyed the front porch during the entire length of our stay. I strongly recommend this house, which is only 10 min away from downtown.
