A wonderful experience
My husband and I spent over 3 months at Letizia and Scott' property while waiting for construction to start in our NYC apt (1h45 drive). We enjoyed every minute of it! The house, the neighborhood, the overall area (the gunks).
The house is farm-like with a wonderful porch (and BBQ) to take in the sun, moon light, and a fireplace for cooler moments. Being there from Sept to Dec we were lucky to experience 3 seasons, from glorious fall to 16'' snow! The house is decorated with a lot of art, unique furniture and objects. It has the distinction of not being a standard rental (a lot of character including farm-like doors and a magnificent staircase) but also is perfectly organized for tenants. No clutter and many thoughtful details (large supply of wood; well equipped kitchen; records, cds; hiking guides, etc.). Letizia and Scott respond very quickly to any request and will do anything to make sure guests are comfortable.
It was spotless clean when we arrived.
When we first visited the house (before renting for 3 months) Scott and Letizia took us for a magical hike right behind their property (Bear hill preserve) and ends at a stone overlook of the valley which we redid many times. At that time we had not realized how special the neighborhood is, an enclave with no passing-through roads; one can take a walk with no traffic; populated enough not to feel isolated but a lot of much preserved nature and quiet! It had been a long time since I had experienced such quietness; many country houses seem to be plagued with lawn mowing; leaves or snow blowing, no such thing in that neighborhood. Most houses are unique with a mix of wood and stones. There is a charming church with another overlook. From all windows of the house you do not see any house; and at each time of the day the lower floor gets a beautiful light. The first floor Master bedroom and "great room" are vast and beautifully decorated; they get plenty of light.
We used the "great" room as a guest bedroom when need be as the children room requires to walk through the master bedroom. The second bedroom and bathroom are small but perfectly adequate. Master bedroom bed is very comfortable.
The area has many beautiful hikes. We recommend red trail of the Shawangunk (8 min drive from house) or Minnewaska lake or Mohonk preserve many splendid walks (40 min). Sam's point is also nearby but many trails were closed due to covid. We loved our stay and hope to be back!

We spent August here and loved every moment in beautiful Cragsmoor. The house is great: large and comfortable with everything we needed. There is a lovely porch where we ate and relaxed each day. In addition, the house includes a grand piano - perfect for us as musicians🎶 The owners, Letizia and Scott, pointed out a number of sites/places to visit in the area. They were always available to us by text and phone if we had any questions. This was a perfect get away, especially in this surreal time!

I could spend every night sitting on the porch, feeling the breeze and watching the flowers and trees. Plenty of space away from the neighbors, with amazing hikes and wineries a short drive away. The host made everything so easy and even left us a wildflower bouquet on the kitchen table. This is a really special property and a great city getaway!

sanctuary in the the mountains of Cragsmoor
I lived in this beautiful art filled home for 18 months with my fiancee in the sleepy artisan colony of Cragsmoor NY.
The space is warm and welcoming and the house is filled with spectacular light and the views are stunning, as are the four seasons.
We spent many nights cooking in the gourmet kitchen , playing the piano and enjoying our dinners in front of the glorious stone fireplace .
Our summer days were spent hiking and exploring & our summer nights were spent sipping wine on the front porch watching the sun go down.
The hosts, Scott and Letizia are gracious to a fault and were always accessible if we ever had a question, but quite honestly we had very few. Had my job not changed, we would still be living in this beautiful space.

Very much enjoyed our stay at Cragsmoor. Great place to spend a significant birthday. Love the proximity to Minnewaska State Park, quiet walks around the neighborhood, dinners on the front porch, fireworks from the Old Stone Church and wine tastings in nearby Pine Bush. Not to forget all there is to do in Ulster County overall. A lovely vacation and Letizia was a most responsive host.

Great House and Great Location
We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. Great house and great outdoor space, very close to nearby hiking. Sam's Point and Bear Hill Preserve are a short walk away. Everything in the house was in great shape, and Letizia was very helpful and accomodating. Highly recommended!

This is a beautiful home set in nature, with mountain views, stunning vistas within a short walk from the house, and a preserve backing to the property. The home is spacious, with a gorgeous kitchen and dining room, with additional options to dine outside on the generous patio. The home is well stocked with abundant linens and pantry items, as well as cookware. Attention to detail is everywhere, as well as inspiring artwork and a studio and music area. We loved our stay here, highly recommend this place, and can't wait to come back again. One small note: guests may want to purchase bottled water to drink, as sometimes the running water can carry an odor of sulfur, natural to the area. But we made tea and coffee with it and showered with no problem. This home is a gem!

We spent 2 months here while we were remodeling our home. The pictures on the website don’t do the house justice. It is absolutely beautiful, from the moment you walk in the door, you feel like your at home, your not a visitor. We spent many nights listening to music while cooking dinner in th gourmet kitchen, and dined in front of the fireplace. Leitza is a warm and gracious hostess, she met is with coffe and freshly baked cookies, and was very accommodating and accessible
We look forward to coming back.

We stayed in this beautiful old house during the weekend of a family wedding in the area. The house is exactly as described and the pictures are a good representation of what to expect.
Our group of six very much enjoyed using the kitchen for big breakfasts in the morning. The kitchen has everything you could want or need, with updated appliances and a huge table perfect for group meals! We also loved enjoying coffee on the porch, and the musicians in our group loved the baby grand piano!
Letizia is a wonderful host. She surprised us with fresh apples, flowers, and cookies when we got there! We had no issues at all during our stay. She was very quick to respond to texts in the days leading up to our visit.
The downside to this house, which is evident in their listing, is that there is only 1 shower, and one of the bedrooms is connected to the master bedroom through that bathroom. This was not a problem for our group, as we were family and didn't mind sharing space. But I would caution it for groups who are expecting a little more privacy. Also, it is an old house and although they have renovated important aspects and keep it beautiful and clean, the floors are very squeaky and sound tends to travel easily. In my opinion, the house still deserves 5 stars because part of the charm is the authenticity of the home.
The hike to Bear Hill was very easy, and the view was one of my favorite parts of our trip! We hope to stay again when we are in the area!
Pros:
Updated kitchen
Huge porch
Comfortable beds & towels
Beautiful, quiet neighborhood
Cons:
only one shower
sound travels easily
squeaky floors

Beautiful house!
My friends and I had a wonderful weekend stay. We especially enjoyed the open, well-appointed kitchen, and the porch. All of us (plus dogs) enjoyed the easy walk to Bear Hill - can't believe how rewarding the views are for such little effort. We also really appreciated Letizia's flexibility with check-in and out times, and general responsiveness.
Our group agreed we'd love to stay again - a hit all around.

Our family had a great time~
My husband and I rented Letizia's listing for a Labor Day weekend getaway with my side of the family.
Letizia was a great host and it was really easy getting in touch with her.
She provided us with quick responses which I appreciated.
Our family spent majority of our time in the main living area, kitchen/ dining area, and of course outside at the fire pit whenever weather allowed.
It rained almost all day on one of the days so we didn't get to spend too much time outdoors but we loved the quiet time to enjoy each other's company.
Before we finalized our booking, Letizia did let us know about the room arrangement. One of the rooms shares the bathroom (with a shower) with the master bedroom and the access into the smaller room is through the master. For us, it worked out ok since my sister and her husband had a 7 month old baby and the smaller bedroom became the baby's room for the trip. We ended up using the family/ TV room on the second floor as another bedroom.
The house had a lot of character but one thing to note is that the floors are a bit squeaky so if you're a light sleeper it's something to keep in mind.
Overall, our family very much enjoyed our time.

Terrific Home for a Gathering of Family and Friends in the Cragsmoor Area!
We rented this home for a family gathering and it exceeded our expectations. We were five adults and the house was a real joy from the moment we pulled in the driveway until we locked the door on our way out at the weekend's end.
The house is very welcoming and comfortable. Some of us spent hours cooking meals in the kitchen, which was very well equipped for a rental home and had great appliances, if somewhat limited counter-top space, while others either enjoyed the very inviting fireplace in the living room or took in some sun and nature on the porch. Both the living room and the porch are adjacent to the kitchen. So, you are never too far away from the action.
There is a comfy T.V. room upstairs, but we never did figure out how to get the channel playing the Cleveland Indians game (a lead-up to the grueling World Series, ultimately lost last night in a nail-biter) . Rather than call Leticia (owner), who was available and receptive to any questions we might have, we took advantage of the house’s Wi-Fi and listened to the game on internet radio. It was such a fun throw-back. I think we enjoyed the Cleveland win that night all the more, as a result.
Bedrooms and linens were very comfortable. Although, having an en-suite bathroom between 2 bedrooms may be slightly quirky, it was a non-issue for our group. Like many older country homes, walls/floors are pretty thin and you can hear other activity in the house, but that did not bother us either.
Foliage was almost peak during our visit and we enjoyed our hikes/walks around Cragsmoor and the Bear Hill Preserves.
Leticia was a terrific host. She was clear and helpful with pre-visit instructions. She surprised us with welcoming gifts of freshly cut wild flowers, local apples (which we baked up in a pie) and fresh cider - very much appreciated. While we did not have many questions, she was prompt to answer them by text, both before and during our stay. She was also kind enough to send us a text mid-stay to make sure that we were aware of the sighting potential of an impending full moon. We took her advice and, that evening, enjoyed a fire in the outdoor fire pit, in the bright moonlight.
We had a fantastic family visit, made all the more enjoyable, because of the comfortable accommodations. I would recommend this house to any close group that wishes to spend some time together in the Cragsmoor area. We loved it and intend to return.
Thank you!

Charming house and peaceful location
A very charming house that's full of wonderful character. It was very clean and has a well stocked kitchen.
The Cragsmoor area is beautiful and very very quiet. This is what we were after, but don't go here expecting to wonder down to a cafe or shops, there are none in the town.
The owner is super helpful. We booked for the wrong dates and only realised a few days before. She changed the dates with no fuss. And then the owner even offered if we wanted to change weekends because of poor weather.

Quaint house nestled in woods.
Beautiful setting nestled in the woods. Quaint old home with warmth and charm.
Very hospitable owner . Cozy rooms, with luxury linens and towels. Spacious kitchen and den/living area. Spacious and relaxing porch.
On downside. Very steep stairs, poorly lit Maste,Den, driveway/ entry.
I would recommend this place for younger Family group, not seniors.

Beautiful area
Pros: the area is very serene and picturesque. The decor is very cute and the beds were comfortable. Would probably be great for anyone staying a short while but we stayed for a month and worked from home so it didn't meet all of our needs.
Cons: the lack of AC in August was miserable. The owner kindly provided a window unit but it meant we spent most of our time in one room. The two twins bedroom is through the master which is not a great layout for adults and is not mentioned in the description, the second queen room is rather small. The house is settling so some of the doors stick or the doorknobs do not work etc. The kitchen has very little counter-space for cooking but the stove was fantastic. There were a fairly large amount of bugs, spiders and such.

Peaceful unique house in wonderful location
We have stayed in this house 3 times now - in spring, summer and fall - and each time has been wonderful. The house has a lot of character and feels loved and lived in, but it is very comfortable with good heating, nice beds and linens etc. It has large dining tables both inside and on the porch, perfect for big long meals. It also has a really well equipped kitchen with a big 5 burner gas cooktop, double electric oven, espresso maker, lots of great pans etc. The porch has a nice view with the garden stepping down. There is a fireplace in the living room, and nice wood floors, and a beautiful grand piano. It is so quiet, you will only see one or two cars pass in the whole day, and barely an airplane in the sky. The air is wonderful, and stars very visible at night as there is no light pollution around. You can walk to Bear Hill which has a fantastic view, in about 20 minutes, and to Cragsmoor library and the beautiful Stone Church. We also hiked in Minnewaska state park, to the waterfall, to Lake Awosting and at Sam's point. Easy to book and the house was open and clean when we arrived, and Kathleen was helpful with information about the area. Definitely would recommend this place!

Beautiful old farmhouse
We had four couples stay here over 4th of July weekend. It's a beautiful old home, with large yard in a quiet neighborhood. Includes a piano, WiFi, outdoor fire pit, great kitchen (and coffee maker...clutch), and game room with TV and foosball table. Lots of space for rainy days. Would definitely stay here again.
Pluses: kitchen, entertainment (piano, TV, WiFi, foosball table, fire pit), outdoor space, 10 minutes from Ellensville, NY. Lots of space: three bedrooms (1 king, 1 queen, 1 with two twin beds), plus pullout couch, plus space for a blow up mattress if you bring one.
Minuses: You have to walk through the master bedroom to get to the bedroom w/ the twin beds. No A/C. Three bathrooms, but only one has a shower (in the master bedroom). Kathleen (the renting agent) is responsive, but she requires a personal check and doesn't provide a renter's contract.
