Nestled in Berkeley, this charming house for $115 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Our charming one bedroom one bath studio space is completely private and located on the bottom floor of our Berkeley home. We've spared no expense to make this the ideal retreat for business travelers and U.C. Berkeley visitors. The Space: This beautifully decorated room is comfortable and very quiet. Features include a California King bed, a cozy reading chair, a desk for those needing to work during their stay, and a flatscreen TV with cable and high speed Internet access. The bedroom also features a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee pot and a tea kettle. While staying with us, you'll have your own private full-bath located next to your room. Guest Access: Private separate entrance to bottom floor of home. Plenty of free on street parking. Interaction with Guests: We're busy professionals running a business from our home, so you won't see much of us during your stay. We'll be happy to greet you upon your arrival, show you around the space and answer any questions you may have while you're here. The Neighborhood: Quiet tree-lined established residential neighborhood on the border of North Berkeley and Albany. Solano Avenue is located one block away. You'll find a grocery store, several banks, a post office, coffee shops, bars and dining options ranging from high-end to grab and go. Getting Around: Walking distance to restaurants and shops on Solano Ave. (1 block away). One mile from North Berkeley BART (access to the whole Bay Area). Two miles from Downtown Berkeley and the U.C. Berkley campus. Easy highway access to Downtown Oakland and San Francisco. Other Things to Note: While you're living space is separate from the rest of the house, please know that we do have a dog upstairs (she never goes downstairs) and she's very quiet, but you'll most likely not encounter her during your stay. (Zoning Permit #ZCSTR2017-0088.)

Our flight was delayed arriving, but communication with the owner was very easy and we had no problem checking in. This is a very sweet studio with a spacious bathroom area, very clean, large comfy bed and bedding. The owners left coffee, plates, utensils etc to have a makeshift kitchen. Care and thought was put in to make this an excellent place to stay if visiting the area. And the location is wonderful.

Quiet yet conveniently located for hitting SF Bay Area, including Berkeley of course, this in-law "basement" unit (really ground level, house being on a hill) is clean and well appointed. Host was attentive and responsive, the bed comfortable, the overall experience quite pleasant. Added bonus: Solano Ave.

This is the loveliest place! Laura is a wonderful host—very available and welcoming. There is a separate entrance with nice greenery to look at out the window. The room is large with a very comfortable bed, pillows and chair with ottoman. With a microwave, mini frig, kettle and TV it would be wonderful place for a long term stay. Wish I were there for long term as there was a wonderful selection of books to read.

We traveled from Galena, il - (Chicago area) to Washington & Oregon National Parks and ended up in Berkeley to visit our son who lives there. It was so nice to unpack everything & stay there for a whole week, rather than living out of our suitcases for one or rwo nights. The studio apt. was almost like being home, we had all the comforts of home for sure! We would stay there again & recommend it to family & friends.

I stayed five nights in this lovely studio and wasn’t ready to leave. It was clean and comfortable, a warm get-away with a small fridge and a teapot so I could start the day with a small breakfast without going out. It is located in a very nice Berkeley neighborhood from which one can walk to shopping and restaurants in a couple of different directions. I hope I can return soon.

We needed a place for my mother in law to stay while visiting as our house is small and boisterous. The room was clean and comfortable with a very nice bed. My mother in law greatly enjoyed being able to retreat here after a busy day to read her book and get a good night's rest (we are up much later than she is). In the morning, she could make tea and the room has a microwave and small refrigerator so she could prepare her own breakfast. My mother in law commented on how quiet and peaceful it was. My interactions with the host were very pleasant and she wanted to do everything to make the stay a success. All in all, it is a lovely place to stay and we hope my mother in law might be able to stay again the next time she visits. Highly recommended!

Very comfortable and quiet room. The bath across a hall might put off some people, but the owners who live upstairs and very respectful of their guests' privacy and the areas they use are blocked off with a curtain and screen. They don't use that area of the house except for laundry. Location is brilliant - two blocks from Solano with great shops and restaurants. Parking almost in front of their house was easy. Plenty of storage. Lovely plush bathrobes and slippers. Only suggestion would be grab bars for the shower/bath. Also, an instruction/explanation sheet including where dish washing materials are located and explaining how to reset the electric strip if simultaneous use of the kettle and microwave blow the fuse. I'll be back!

Great location, spotlessly clean and Laura was a great host. The bed and pillows were comfy and she provided info for things to do in the area. The coffee pot & microwave made it easy to have a quick breakfast. 5 stars!

We were delighted with Laura’s studio in Berkeley. We were visiting children and grandchildren and needed a comfortable base where we could get some work done in off hours. The studio is a nice big room as described, with a walk-in closet and chest for plentiful storage, nice full bathroom across the hall with a bathtub and a great shower. There are many easy to access outlets for chargers. Wonderful Solano Ave (filled with shops, restaurants etc.) is a short block and a half away. Laura and Marc were lovely, responsive hosts. We’ll be back!!

We needed a place to stay for our weekend trip and this studio was perfect. We went to see a concert at The Greek and it was a short Uber ride to the venue. The hosts were great at communication and the studio was even better than the pictures. We'd definitely recommend this spot.

We had such a nice stay at this sweet, private little get-away. Laura provided everything we could hope for from robes and slippers to cold water in the fridge. The room was spacious with plenty of room for the two of us. The bed was comfy, and the place was spotlessly clean. Fun shops, cafes, and dining places were all within walking distance. We went to view a graduation at Cal Berkeley. It was an easy drive from our room to the University. We loved our stay and hope to go back again someday. Thank you, Laura, you made our stay very enjoyable.
