First floor has dining room, living room with twin size couch, bath with shower, and fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher. Outside has front porch with 2 end tables, 1 rocker, 1 childs chair, and 3 regular chairs. Deck has 1 dining table with 4 chairs. Yard has 2 lounge chairs with two cement end tables. Large narrow back yard with seasonal flowers and blooming trees. Your home sits on Scott’s Creek with ducks, Canada geese, egrets, fish, and crab. 2nd floor has 2 bedrooms with double beds, night stands, closets and 2 accent chairs. Bathroom has tub + shower.

I loved the atmosphere of the home. The housekeeping could have done a much better job. I didn’t feel safe in the neighborhood. The Host was great at getting back to answer questions.

Overall, a nice stay we enjoyed the property and it was five minutes away from a very nice children's museum. We didn't get to use the washer and dryer and the beds were a little small for two adults and they sagged in the middle. Plus its listed as sleeps 6, but 4 is a much more realistic number. We loved the kitchen with a nice view of the water and a variety of birds to watch. With an improvement in bedding we would stay there again.

Overall nice stay, experienced few problems.
My friends and I stayed here for 3 nights. We had a wonderful time and thought the house was very lovely. We did experience a couple problems with bugs (found a cockroach in one of the bedrooms), nothing horrible. I also think the description needs to be altered in regards to how many people this place can sleep. I’d say this place fits 4 comfortably, but no more than 5. My friends and I ended up having to bring an air mattress to all sleep comfortably. Also, the pictures posted are not what the bedrooms look like currently. However, we still had a wonderful time and thought the host was very communicative and kind.

We were in town to celebrate my Son's Birthday. The home was welcoming and extremely functional for our needs. Beautiful location on a large pond, very quiet...felt "at home'. Neighbors were great...the check in process was seamless, would certainly reserve this property again!

We arrived to this quaint home for a week's stay, and were greeted with an anniversary card. The house was cozy, with everything you need, the yard and the pond were so enjoyable. The host is gracious and we felt like family. Will visit again!

Awesome sunsets!
This place is the perfect place to relax. Beautiful garden, waterfowl, magnificent sunsets, peace and quiet. The owner tells you up front it's a 125-year-old house. It shows. It's also a very good price for the area. We felt very "at home."

Great Time
We could not have asked for a better stay. The host was great and the check in process was no problem. We had fun fishing in the stream. It is located close enough to the beach that you can drive there in a short time.

Lovely Home and Yard
The house was very sweet and charming, and the yard was absolutely beautiful. It was really nice to find a place with a kitchen space with everything that you need to cook and space outside to relax as well. The host had provided all the amenities and a guest book with lots of helpful tips as well. The house felt very clean and neat despite needing some updating. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the kitchen and clawfoot tub upstairs. The only discrepancy was that the listing says it sleeps 6, and we were under the impression that the couch would be large enough for two 9 year olds. However, it really wasn't and we ended up getting an air mattress that we left in case other guests needed it. There are two double beds upstairs and a twin-size couch in the living room, but it doesn't fold out so I feel the listing should reflect that by saying it sleeps 4 or 5. Other than that, we had a really enjoyable stay and appreciated all the thoughtful touches and felt safe and comfortable.

It’s an old Victorian house with lots of charm. The owner has it beautifully landscaped with flowers, plants and in the back there’s this brick walkway that leads down the length of the yard. Ducks swim and lounge on the grass. It’s a very calm and relaxing property. We had plenty of room for my party, including bathrooms. I loved that we could cook and enjoy a home cooked meal. I drank my coffee outside and enjoyed the creek in the back. Well worth it. We hope to be back soon

We were very happy to find this sweet old house available upon needing to change our arrangements within just a few days of our stay. Our only trouble was with making contact for check-in, but everything ended up working out alright. Ms. Chalmers was a gracious host!

The house was very clean but cluttered with too much furniture.. and the stairs were very steep. Several mornings sitting in the backyard, reading and observing wildlife on the water was just the right activity.

Home was as described. The neighborhood was amazing and neighbors were friendly. Conveniently located between Chesapeake, Norfolk, and VA Beach. Rental had everything needed for a hassle free stay.

Peaceful and serene backyard
The back yard was absolutely beautiful flowers, quiet, geese and water. Even though the weather didn't cooperate, we did get to sit out back one afternoon and sip our wine.
Entering was easy and the house had everything one could need. Thanks for sharing your home.

Sweet visit to Grandma’s, it’s so “COZY”
This home gives you a welcoming feeling with lots of history behind it. Tropical Storm kept us indoors most of our stay but we had a great time. Patricia has everything you need to make it as comfortable as possible. Thank You

Good value
Other than having difficulty getting the code to get in when I arrived, it was a good experience. The house is an old house as described. And with that comes all the charm and wear that you'd expect. It was clean and quiet and Patricia is a nice lady and easy to deal with. The value is excellent. Instead of just having a room to stay in, you have an entire house all to yourself. I would recommend this property to others to enjoy as I did. Thanks Patricia

One awful night.
The house smelled musty, but the water smelled like rotten eggs and we had to leave after the first night. I had to go to a friend's house to take a shower the next morning.
I could not get into the house, as the owner had failed to send me the code to open the door.
I don't know if or how I can get some of my money back.
