Positives: Lake front cottage with fantastic view, Finger Lakes regional location is spectacular for exploring Seneca Falls and wine country between the lakes, quality dock allows for morning coffee and late pm sun, available kayaks, birding (osprey, eagle, & geese every day), kitchen adequately supplied, new curtains throughout, owner highly responsive to communications regarding fallen tree limbs.
Needs improvement: compared to other Vrbo rentals mattress substandard for two people, not all electrical outlets function, overall maintenance neglected, for example windows in the kitchen and bedroom could not be opened for airflow as screens were badly torn or window frame was rotted away, bathroom considerably substandard by any comparison. The bathroom condition was the biggest drawback to our full enjoyment of this potentially outstanding lakefront cottage. Sewer gas emits from the sink drain as there is no drain trap present under the sink. The entire floor under the toilet and shower was in need of inspection for structural integrity. The toilet did not seem solidly attached to the floor and the shower floor had an unsettling sponginess. There was black moldy caulking around the bottom of the shower. The bathroom condition needs to be addressed if this cottage is to continue being listed on Vrbo. We chose to make the best of our vacation by spending our time on the lake, on the dock, on the deck, and by exploring the region's varied offerings.

Super cute little cottage in a beautiful location. I really enjoyed watching the sunrises every morning on the back porch--relaxing with a cup of coffee.
Very nice host and communication was very good.
Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay here and the owner is so accommodating and she made sure that everything in the house is working properly. This is a place for those who love fishing. You do not need a boat to go out the Cayuga lake as you can just do fishing on its private dock. But if you want to rent a boat, there’s a place nearby where you can go to. They have a paddle boat and kayak to use. The neighborhood is so quite that you could have time to relax if you want to get out your busy city life. Overall it was an awesome stay and will surely get back. Thank you so much Renee for your wonderful accommodation.

It was a nice spot on the lake. Cozy if not basic accommodations and a nice dock.
I caught the end of a great season and I love the area. Close to State Park and hiking trails.

The deck area and view was very nice. There is a huge tree in front of one side of the deck that is just beautiful. It is a small place, but suited my husband and myself just fine!

I am still waiting for my refund. The owner asked me to cancel, saying we weren't a good fit. She promised to give me 100% of my refund. Please help!

Quaint small cabin good for outdoorsy people. Two large black walnut trees on the property offer much to be curious about. Just a short walk over to Cayuga State Park. Plenty of serene fun to be had fishing off private pier, kayaking, or exploring Seneca Falls and surrounding areas. Friendly neighbors.

Doorknob to bathroom came off in hand on first use. Ceiling fan rattled, light was loose. No life jackets to use with boats when assured they would be available. Shower issue not addressed that previous renters complained about - still feel like you will fall through soft, warped floor underneath. Watered down hand soap provided, which does not fly in a pandemic. No dish soap provided. Last renters did not take trash to curb. Got down to last garbage bag during our stay. Bring your own fans, but beware of dead outlet in front room. Never figured out cable and had to ask for Wi-Fi info because what was listed was old. Bunk beds were uncomfortable. Bedding decor was catch-22, if you used it, you were charged. No bath mat provided. Less decorative items, more room for storage and belongings needed. Hooks needed in bathroom to hang items. Sink in kitchen is too shallow for faucet, you will get wet. Reached out to owner several times during our stay, nothing addressed. Overpriced for what it is.

This worked well for the 2 of us. Great location, nice deck and dock and the cottage had all of the necessities. Just wish it hadn't rained all week!

This is a very quaint cottage from yesteryear. Small and comfortable for two people. (It can sleep up to 5 if needed) The view was awesome, was located perfectly - near many state parks (one a quarter mile down the road), Seneca Falls only 5 miles away, etc. Very pleased it has 2 kayaks and a paddle boat, which we enjoyed immensely throughout the week.
Our host, Renee, was very nice and always communicated in a timely manner. We had an issue and Renee responded with the hour to work on the solution. She was in touch to be sure everything was “ok”.
Very, very nice and will consider renting again in the future.

The deck and boat dock were great. Spent a lot of time there when not going on day trips. The kayaks were in great shape and easy to use. The fire pit was wonderful. The kitchen was a bit small for two people to be cooking in at the same time. The family room was a bit small and would have liked 2 side by side chairs to watch tv. Shower small also but acceptable.

Post Labor Day getaway
Rustic older cabin, fully stocked for convenience (coffee maker, toaster, microwave, stove, frige/freezer, grill, plates, cups, etc). Accommodations were OK - bathroom renovations already planned. Bed was comfortable (queen size), also has two bunks, and a trundle type. Might have been better if there was a loveseat with pullout bed. Not much room to sit and there were only two of us. Also suggested to property manager that for pet owners a gate at end of deck by street would be great. Will probably bring baby gate with us ... we plan to go back and stay again next year! Overall great experience!

Rustic cabin, great location
This is a very rustic cabin. The location was great and you are right on the lake. Bed was comfortable and we enjoyed sitting out on the deck. So peaceful! The only reason for a 4 star was the bathroom. The shower needs some work as it is unstable and I felt as if I would go through the floor.

Rustic experience
This cabin is cute and a great location if you want to explore the area. Dock and deck are great. Kayaks were nice. Didn't use the paddleboat but it looked nice. If you are looking for a luxury experience this is not it but we were not seeking luxury. Suggest that owners address the shower issue-it is very unstable (we minimized our showers because of the very unstable floor underneath the shower). Also it was brutally hot the weekend we stayed. Owner's left fans which was great but not all the windows could be opened which was a bit of a challenge-some were painted shut and we did not want to force them and risk breaking them. Had the shower/bathroom been in better shape our overall rating would have been a five.

Lakefront Cottage
This property is a great location- lakefront with a great dock, beautiful sunrises, local dining options and close to town for other dining options, wineries and even a casino. We really enjoyed using the kayaks and pedal boat! Kind of a pain to clean them out but worth it for the experience. Just be careful not to go too far out in the pedal boat since the water had a high amount of seaweed and grass that could easily get caught in the boat. Renee was accommodating over an issue that arose prior to our trip and we are very appreciative of that. The property is small and older and has not been updated- pictures are accurate. I think simple updates to the shower (which was very unstable) and cleaning the cobwebs and dust around the place would do wonders for enhancing the value of this property while still maintaining rustic charm. We did not get to use the fire pit but I’m glad it was an option. The place is not glamorous but provides a peaceful getaway to drink coffee on the dock and relax on the water.

Great simple place
Quiet little place right on the lake. The bathroom could use a little work, but very usable. The rest of the cottage was perfect.

Quaint, comfortable and calm
We are a family of 4....2 off which, are teenage boys. Not gonna lie, it was small quarters for us, but it worked out just fine and we had a nice stay. The place is very comfortable. The view is just amazing! My favorite part, was making coffee in the morning and sitting in the front room to watch the sun rise over the lake. We enjoyed using the pedal boat and the kayaks every day. There is a walmart less than 15 minutes away, just in case you forgot something. But, you should check out the cottage first because Renee probably already has you covered!
We noticed lumber stacked next to the house, which means only one thing....Renee is making improvements! It will be exciting to see how this cute cottage transforms into something even better!

Nice and clean cottage with a beautiful view of the Seneca Lake.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this cottage. So calm and quite water front unit with all you need to spend a great time away from the noisy big cities. We contacted Renee as soon as we arrived - she was very helpful. We also enjoyed the beautiful sunrise over the lake. After travelling around, fishing, visiting wineries, farms we spent evenings with a yummy BBQ and then some fire and marshmallow, wine and just relaxing at night. Thank you Renee!

Perfect for 2-3 people. The dock was so perfect for relaxing .. I was worried that the fire dept next door would get loud but we never heard a peep ..

This is a great little place for one or two people to enjoy some time to unwind. It's not flashy but has all the amenities that you need. The location is close to a lot of activities but yet still in a quiet area.

Peaceful, quaint and lovely
I loved, loved this property and stayed 9 or 10 days. It is a cute vintage type cottage, just what I was looking for. Spent my afternoon at the end of the dock doing lots of meditating and reading. You have everything there, especially all kitchen necessities. I slept in the front room because of the beautiful views of the water....could hear the lapping waves at night. I cannot wait to go back again. Renee is so helpful and has a great jewel on Lake Seneca. Would live there if I could! Thank you Renee!

I love Seneca Falls!
Stayed in the cottage Tuesday thru Saturday (mid May). It was amazing! So quiet and peaceful. The cottage is small and old(which I thought was adorable) but Renee did a great job with the space. The bed was comfy. She does provide a small fan, there isn't A/C, but we never needed it, the nights were cool. We were grateful for the use of the kayaks, we ran out of time to use the pedal boat. There a couple of Adirondack chairs, a fire pit and a grill outside. We were there pre season, so our nights were so quiet, but Friday night was a little more lively with the neighbors, so I imagine summers are less quiet. The location of the cottage is convenient for many things. We took the hour drive to Watkins Glen National Park, which I highly recommend doing! The drive is along the lake and on the way back we hit a few of the MANY wineries and had lunch at one of them. There is a great restaurant you could walk to from the cottage (DeerHead Lakeside: bar/restaurant), the food and service was great, but close at 8. Two miles up the road is Wolffys(bar/restaurant), they have outside seating right on the lake, again, food, service AND view is amazing! You are also only about 3.5 miles from a little town strip, a few great restaurants (84 fall St, Parkers Pub, and Bee's Bakery were the ones we visited) , and some cute shops. We went to some local places for breakfast, never had a bad meal. We also did a tour of Harriet Tubmans house (the house that she eventually settled in) It was a nice tour (about an hour long) and the man who narrates it is adorable. Muranda Cheese Farm is close by, the man who owns it has 300 acres, and makes the cheese right there, we tasted (and purchased) lots of cheese. He was so nice to talk to, what he did to his barn is beautiful! (very dog friendly area too, most of the wineries had dogs running around) There is SO much to do in the area. We cant wait to go back!

This was perfect for me and my daughter's get away.
Loved waking up every morning on the lake and bom fires every night. The cabin was was right next to Cayuga park and in Seneca Falls which was where I wanted to be. The owner was totally approachable and quick at responding. I will rent here again. But be prepared, this cabin is rustic, no A.C.tight living, couldnt get oven/stove on - but none of that bothered our stay. If i had one complaint it would be i wish was the paddle boat and kiacks were cleaned, too many spiders and we had no way to clean them out. We really would have enjoyed lounging on the lake. Overall! Loved it and highly recommend.
