Great location, we loved having a swim in the river at the steps only a few meters from the door.
Could have been a bit cleaner. Not too bad, but not quite there.

Door mats, hair dryer, extra trash bags, steel vessels for cooking rice, pasta, boiling water weren't available
Wash basin in the washroom was very difficult to access due to a shelf above it.

Golden River is a perfect base for anyone running the Jungfrau Marathon. It’s only about 800 metres from the start, so the location couldn’t have been better for us. And as an added bonus: the River Aare is just 50 metres away for a very refreshing post-marathon ice bath!
We were also very happy with the communication and service. Shortly after arrival, we mentioned that we found the double bed a little small for two men and asked if an extra mattress was available. Within minutes, one was delivered. Great service!
The kitchen and its equipment are quite basic, but with a pan of hot water and some instant coffee, we still managed to get our essential pre-marathon caffeine fix. ☕️
And finally, even after 42 kilometres and plenty of climbing, our former top-level gymnast had no trouble getting into the upper bunk bed and enjoying a well-deserved night of recovery. 😄
All in all, a very convenient and enjoyable place to stay for our Jungfrau Marathon weekend!
