Located in Castro Valley, this attractive house for $72 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. I know it says directly above this that you will not be sharing the property with anyone else - you will have private bedroom(s) and a private bath - but the rest of the ground floor (kitchen and dining area) is shared with the owner (me). Please make sure that this property will meet your needs before booking. Full description below. Everything is exactly as described. My daughter and I have our bedrooms upstairs so we are renting out the ground floor of the house (2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, plus the kitchen and dining areas) to our guest. So you will have exclusive use of 2 rooms and one bathroom. Understand that is is SHARED housing, you may not see us much but we will be using the same kitchen and dining area. You may use the laundry facilities as well (all laundry supplies provided for you). Very child-friendly, fun back yard with play set and LARGE enclosed trampoline. 35 minutes from San Francisco, 1 mile from downtown Castro Valley and public transit (BART). My house is your house during your stay, you can have as little or as much contact with us as you want. Street parking directly in front of the house is always available. This is not a busy / crowded neighborhood. We have 5 indoor/outdoor cats, so if you are allergic to cats this is not the place for you! Katya (the official greeting committee) is pictured above on the front steps. Please note in the pictures - what you see is what you get. The queen bed will comfortably accommodate 2 adults, the sofa / corner unit will work for 2 kids/teens. My house will NOT accommodate a party of three or four adults. The sleeping accommodations are not sufficient. While the sofa / corner unit is great for the younger crowd, it does not provide the actual back support a "real" bed would and is NOT recommended for older folks like me! (50+). I've tried it, trust me on this. My kid and her friends think it's great, but that's her age group.

I enjoyed the quiet family home here in Castro Valley with Stacy, the area has a lot of access to parks, highway access, outdoor activities and shopping nearby. The home is older, modest and functional. The room I stayed in was very comfortable and is well suited to travelers looking for a place to relax in a suburban California vista. Stacy is very nice person. We are glad we found 2 rooms for our stay. There is TV, fridge and microwave in each room. Full coffee station. House is quiet and neighborhood is nice. We extended our stay for another 10 days.

I picked this place based on cost and convenience. I’d go back based on cost, convenience, the facilities and most of all the host. Stacy is a star. You share the house with Stacy, a lodger, his daughter and four cats. They make you welcome. If you don’t like or are allergic to cats then don’t pick this place. They make themselves welcome. I would recommend this place to anyone who doesn’t expect perfection. This is a home, not a hotel. That said, when my stay was cut short by work issues, Stacy was awesome. No hotel would have helped me as Stacy did. The full kitchen, washer/dryer and comfortable bed were great. I will return. Thank you for making my stay a pleasure.

The host is very responsive and the room was exactly as described. We enjoyed the sunny deck, and the coffee station was amazing. The cats were really cute! Excellent value for money!!!

Thank you, Stacy for being so accommodating and helpful! We really enjoyed our stay. The outdoor play set and trampoline were GREAT for our active two year old, and the cats coming in and out provided great entertainment for her, too. The coffee machine, mugs, fridge, and so much more provided for guests in the bedroom was so thoughtful. My only wish was that we could be in town longer. It was a great place for a family getaway and we would be happy to come again.

This is a great place to stay as it is very quiet, good location to San Francisco, Monterey, or any where else you want to go. You have your own fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, and bathroom in the hall way. We were very pleased!

We stayed here with our family of 5. Stacy was very kind, friendly and helpful during our stay and made sure we were comfortable and felt at home. Everything in the house was labelled and easy to find. We like to cook as a family and we had our own fridge in the main bedroom and easy access to the kitchen which was fully stocked with all the cookware we needed to make all of our meals. The children truly enjoyed the sweet kitties roaming around the house, and the playground and trampoline in the backyard were fantastic. Stacy was a wonderful host and we gladly be back if we come back to the area:)

Great stay, Stacy had everything you could ever need if you forgot something. The back yard is a kids hidden adventure land, but my son's favorite feature of all was the huge trampolin and mini tire swing. Stacy was an amazing host I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this property and host to anyone looking for a home away from home.
