The home has been completely remodeled, flat screen TV in the living area and bedroom, a queen size Tempur-Pedic bed, bamboo wood floors in the kitchen and living space, out door heated shower to wash off at when coming back from the beach, washer and dryer and private entrance...No expense was spared. If you want to experience La Jolla this is the place for you.

This little carriage house was so adorable and had everything we needed. Just two blocks from the ocean and a short walk to downtown, it could not have been more convenient for our idyllic La Jolla getaway. Plenty of street parking, an attentive and informative host, and paradise right at our fingertips. I highly recommend and definitely plan on attending.

John is a great host. Always available for questions and suggestions for places to eat or visit. The house was perfect for just us two to stay in. Beautiful area and a short walk to a great beach. Very close to La Jolla Cove, which we absolutely loved. We very much enjoyed our stay here.

Cute little cottage in a great location. Super close to the beach and walking distance to excellent restaurants. Owner was very friendly and gave superb dining recommendations, including spots that seemed popular with locals. Parking was on street but no troubles finding nearby spots and it was over Memorial Day Weekend. Kitchen was nicely stocked. It was perfect for a couple on a getaway extended weekend!

My wife and I loved our stay at this location. John was wonderful; very responsive, helpful, and communicative without being intrusive. Great location for us! The house was very close to the beach and walking distance (10 - 20 mins) to shops and restaurants. No views from inside, but access to the main house front patio/porch (with ocean views) was a nice bonus. Cozy and comfortable stay; we would definitely visit again.

This place is really nice, clean and well located. It's a block from the ocean, close to downtown La Jolla and a very charming guesthouse. The owner was also extremely nice/helpful.

We absolutely loved out stay! It is literally one block to the beach and tide pools. We were able to walk everywhere from the cottage…many restaurants, shopping, children’s beach, the cave, walking paths. Truthfully we would not have even needed a car. John was there when we arrived and showed us the all the features of the place and also gave us some great places to eat. The cottage was very stocked with everything you would need. We would go back there in a heartbeat.

The cottage is beautiful inside and well-provisioned in advance. The owners are across the patio and available any time for help or just social company. And the location was perfect for us—an easy stroll to downtown or the beach or to my daughter's place. All good.

My husband and I traveled from the east coast to enjoy a week in Lajolla for both work and pleasure. From the moment we confirmed our booking until the moment we left we were MORE than content. John was responsive very quickly to any pre-move in questions and both Katie and John were there to greet us and made us feel immediately at home upon arrival. The cottage was sparkling clean and the location was suburb ( great walks and amazing sunsets!) . We have rented VRBO's many a time and I would put this rental as a 5+++++. We even got to enjoy a cocktail with the hosts one evening and enjoy the sunset. Doesn't get much better than that. We will be back!!

Wonderful beach cottage in a great location. Well appointed and beautifully decorated. The owners have taken great care in making sure you have everything you need and more. The bed, linens and towels are all high quality as well. We didn’t even rent a car as we could walk to the village and local restaurants. John and Alice are wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcomed. Will definitely be back!

My wife and I had the best weekend get away in years. John was a great host, and we had everything we needed. Parking was excellent, even with it being a busy fall break weekend. Everything you could possibly need is within walking distance, restaurants, shops, grocery, etc. We will definitely be back.

We came for a destination wedding. I am so glad I book this little casita well in advance. It was cute, private, 1 block up from the beach, and within a mile of the wedding venue. Parking is the only issue. It is all street parking, and it is a very populated neighborhood. So you could end up having to park a few blocks away from the rental. Otherwise it was everything we were looking for. Thank you John

The cottage is perfect! It is in a perfect location being so close to the beach and wonderful restaurants. Most importantly, the beach is steps away! Don’t let the size of the cottage fool you. It feels much larger and we found it perfect for the two of us. The owners are fantastic. A perfect getaway.

We had a wonderful relaxing time here. The Host, John, was easy to communicate with and instructions to access the property were accurate and easy. Very clean and nicely stocked unit. We were there on an abnormally hot humid weekend and to have A/C units were a bonus! Also to have a washer and dryer were great to have on site. Easy access to the beach down the street and chairs are provided as well as nice beach towels. The bath towels in the unit are also nice and the bed comfy. I totally recommend this place! easy to walk to places to eat and stores. No car needed.

Brief four-day stay. Never moved my car the first 36 hours. Great place for a couple. Hosts are superb...always available. The Promiscuous Fork a few blocks away is epic bistro food. Sunsets were sublime! I will come back.

We enjoyed the closeness of John's guesthouse to Marine Street Beach. (Barely a 2 block walk). This Beach is also walking distance to Windandsea Beach. If you are looking for a great place to spend time on beach and walk to restaurants and shops (some are within blocks, and another larger shopping district about 10-15 min walk to La Jolla Village). We would not have needed a car, but we were there for a whole week, so the rental car allowed us to visit some other places in San Diego area (Torrey Pines Hiking trails, surf lessons at a couple different beaches, and biking around Mission Bay). Although it is street parking we never had a hard time finding a spot within a block of the home. The guesthouse is just as described and has many amenities that were helpful for beach stay (beach chairs, towels, umbrella, outside shower for rinsing). The only thing we forgot was a frisbee or football for the beach. If you choose to stay here, you will not be disappointed.

The cottage was perfect. The owners have paid a lot of attention to all the details that make for a comfortable experience. John showed us how to use everything, the kitchen and bathroom were well-stocked and we enjoyed using the beach chairs provided. The beach was incredibly close, easy to access, and my husband enjoyed surfing all the breaks. We were warned the parking could be tough but we never had a problem. It was a perfect place to stay and a terrific summer vacation! Thank you!

The guest cottage was perfect for our anniversary get away! I had been in touch with John before check-in for advice on a special restaurant for dinner during our stay. His recommendation was right on point. He also had chilled champagne and glasses in the refrigerator upon check in for us. Altogether a very thoughtful and generous host. The cottage itself is very comfortable and John provided extras like coffee in the pantry for breakfast or anytime of day. I would highly recommend this property for a beach get away with La jolla shopping and dining near by.

Just what we needed !

5 stars all around! The location was perfect. Walked to the beach every morning and every evening. The weather was perfect. The guest house was perfect. John greeted us with warmth, knowledge and a bottle of wine, to get us off to a great start. This long weekend get-away was just what we needed. We will be back!
