Located in Crescent City, this charming house for $165 per night is a great option for your next trip. Castle Island Getaway is literally a 30 seconds walk from the scenic and beautiful uncrowded Pebble Beach of Crescent City, California. Our guests stay in a private home with the main living area up one flight of stairs that includes an updated kitchen & bathroom. You'll enjoy views of our wooded acreage, with the sounds of the ocean and local wildlife ever present during the day and night. It's a short walk to the beach access and bicycles are also available for our guests to enjoy a cruise along Pebble Beach and view the wildlife refuge, Castle Island. Or just relax in the quiet peacefulness of our little corner of Del Norte County, we call 'the Pearl of the Northwest'. Upon arrival our guests may contact the hosts who can assist with dinner plans and information about things to do and see in our area. We strive to assure our guests make the most of their vacation in this gateway to the Redwoods. The upstairs living area has a smart TV, dining area and fully stocked kitchen for your convenience. The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed with a pillow top for added comfort. The windows offer views of the wooded acreage, sounds of the ocean and viewing of local wild life. There is ample closet space for extended stays. There is an additional bedroom downstairs with a daybed that converts to two singles and an additional bathroom and laundry area. The amazing Redwoods are a year round pleasure in Del Norte County! A short fifteen minute drive east from our beach home brings you to Jedediah Smith Redwoods National & State Park. The area is also known for the pristine beauty of the famous wild and scenic Smith River gorge. Great for fishing, rafting & swimming. Our spring and summer activities include biking, hiking, kayaking, sailing, surfing, as well as wild flower and wildlife viewing. Salmon and steelhead fishing is available October through February. Whale watching occurs March through May and depending on the high seas November through December. The arrival of the Aleutian Geese to Castle Island as they migrate north is a spectacular event from February through March. Nature is abundant in Del Norte County all year long and the easy beach access offers our guests the chance to explore tide pools and view spectacular sunsets along Pebble Beach. My family and I truly enjoyed our stay here! Bill and Linda were great hosts, very friendly and helpful. The house was comfortable and clean! They have gone above and beyond to make their vacation home feel like home. The house is conveniently located next to the beautiful Jedediah Smith State Park where we were able to walk among the giant Redwoods. It is also just steps away from the beach. We enjoyed the best of both worlds! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us as we tour the 50 states! This was an outdoor family's dream!

My friend and I met up in northern California and southern Oregon for some national park hiking and for our Redwood State and National Park leg of the trip, we stayed here in Crescent City. It was a perfect location for the northern part of the park and Bill and Linda were excellent hosts. We had the little spot to ourselves and it had all the amenities we needed for a no-frills stay. It is not a large space and the second bed is only a twin, so make sure it will meet your needs, but we appreciated the convenience, the cleanliness, the access to laundry for our sweaty duds and the kitchen had all we needed for our simple stay. The hosts communicated clearly and quickly. We had a great time.

We enjoyed our stay. We were looking for quiet get away and this was perfect. Bill and Linda were lovely hosts who put care into their place. Location was great - 500 feet from Pebble Beach and just 20 minutes to the beautiful Jebediah Redwood State Park. Would stay there again.

We had a blast!
We had a wonderful time on our vacation! My sister and I took walks in the morning and hit the beach during the day. Location is the best! My granddaughter loved the place too! So nice to fix meals and snacks with a well stocked kitchen. Thank you again for the memories!! Linda was so sweet and helpful.

This beach house was the perfect place to stay while enjoying the Redwoods. The house is adorable, it is tastefully decorated in coastal theme. Bill and Linda are friendly and helpful, they even recommended a few places to eat which we enjoyed. The house is closer to the beach then I expected. You have a view of the beach from the dinning area and kitchen. The neighborhood is very nice, I felt safe. One morning we work up to see two deer right in our front yard! There is also a place to sit outside and enjoy the beauty. I was very happy with this rental and with our Redwood vacation in general. Seeing those giant trees up close isn't something that can be put into words.

Pebble beach is a block away, wildlife abound, and short drives to the old growth forest and the Smith River. House is comfortable and clean, hosts are helpful and friendly, it was hard to pack up and come home.

Great little place
Location was nice and we enjoyed our walks on the beach. It was very clean and the bed was super comfortable! The only downside was the dryer was broken and we had counted on that for doing laundry.

If I could give over a 5 star rating I would. This place was everything advertised and more. Friendly hosts, very clean and comfortable living area, and a VERY short walk to the beach! The dining area had a window that framed the ocean view...it was breathtaking! No complaints, only compliments for this place :)

Cute little property a block from shore. Perfect home base from which to explore Jedediah Smith park, the rest of the redwoods, and the beaches. Comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen, and nice space to relax.

Family getaway
The house was perfect for our family. It was a block from the beach and we had a view of the ocean. Check in was easy and the property owners were friendly. We will definitely stay again when visiting the area.

The owners were easy to get in touch with and provided my friend and I with a restful place to rest our heads. Linda called on the day we were arriving to check in how our trip south was going. We told her we were arriving late, so she made sure to leave some lights on so we could see when we arrived. The many little touches around the house made us feel right at home. The views from the dining area are breathtaking. Access to the beach is literally less than a 5 minute walk from the front door. Can't wait to come back.
