This is one of my favourite places I have ever stayed at. The room and bathroom were great, the staff were very friendly. But the absolute best thing was the chef on the rooftop. The restaurant prices were very good and the food she made was amazing. We ate there several times and each time it was such good value for money. We don't usually eat at the places we stay but we couldn't stop here!!

Very nice hostel with a great rooftop terrace, where you can have great food at reasonable prices. We loved the view and where even able to see a bit of the shy mountain, Kilimanjaro, through the clouds. It is located very central, too. The staff are fantastic!
The room might need a little update - one step of the ladder of the bed was broken, the nails still sticking out. The mosquito nets had several holes. Not a reason not to stay there again, though - the price is great!

Good roof top bar for a few drinks. Close to good food. We went to the indianitalio restaurant it was amazing just across the road and down the street.
Beds were fairly comfortable.
The room was hot. It is what is it for $16.
We booked day climbing up to Madaru camp with the hostel. Our guide (Crispen) was horrible. He didn’t talk to us was on his phone the whole time talking to people and unhelpful. We waited at the gate for 45 mins to get permits. Then sometimes he was way ahead of us or way behind us. My wife was struggling with the climb and another guide came over and helped her and looked after her helping her down the hill. I would make sure he isn’t the guide before booking this tour for $150.
