This gorgeous 2,300 square foot home comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests with 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. Perfect for a large group of family and/or friends, the open concept layout offers spacious indoor and outdoor living areas. The indoor living area provides ample seating, a fireplace, and a TV as well as deck access. The kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, cooking and dining essentials, and plenty of space for multiple chefs. The dining table seats 8 with additional seating at the kitchen bar. Downstairs you'll find the first full bathroom complete with shower/tub combo. Upstairs you'll find the master suite which includes a king-size bed, TV, private deck, as well as an attached master bathroom with walk-in shower and vanity. The master bedroom also includes a large walk-in closet with plenty of space. The second bedroom includes a queen-size bed. The third full bathroom features a shower/tub combo. Ideal for the kids, the bunk room includes two sets of bunk beds and plenty of space. The fourth bedroom offers a queen-size bed while the fifth bedroom features a twin day bed and a TV. A washer and dryer are also available for guest use. Outside you'll find over 400 square feet of covered porches and a 500 square foot shaded deck to enjoy all day long and into those glorious star-studded Hill Country Nights! Relax out on the deck or in the bar and grill pavilion after an afternoon spent playing in our swimming hole at the Blanco River just across the street. Enjoy the new pool complete with a tanning shelf for the loungers and little ones, splash about in the pool or relax in the generous hot tub. Challenge a friend to a friendly game of ping pong while you sip on a beverage - now that's Hill Country Living! Only three miles to downtown Wimberley Shepherd's Lodge is a wonderful, centrally-located launching pad to enjoy all the Wimberley Valley has to offer from playing and swimming at Blue Hole Regional Park, shopping the historic Square and Wimberley Market Days, catching a movie at the legendary Corral Outdoor Movie Theatre, enjoying Hill Country cuisine and wines at local restaurants and vineyards, or browsing one of the fine local art galleries. Have a larger gathering in mind? Shepherd's Lodge is adjacent to Shepherd's Rest which can be rented in conjunction with the Lodge to offer accommodations for up to 16 guests. Blue Hole, one of Texas' finest swimming holes, is just down the road. Shepherd’s Lodge is fabulous for the exercise enthusiast. Act like a local and enjoy walking, jogging, or cycling Flite Acres Road, Little Arkansas Road, or Little Ranches (it gets hilly fast!). Blue Hole Park (2 miles) also offers 4+ miles of easy trails for pedestrians and cyclists in addition to a playground and a basketball and sand volleyball court. *The home is located in the heart of one of the finest acreage communities in Wimberley. We love our neighbors and want to be extremely considerate of their peace and property! Noise curfew is in effect from 9pm-8am. *You must be 25 years or older to rent this property. Maximum occupancy at all times for this home is 12 guests. We manage several nearby rental properties and therefore often have staff in the area. Please come and have a good time, but remember that behavior that is disrespectful or disruptive to surrounding neighbors will result in you forfeiting the remainder of your stay. *There is a limit of 4 vehicles unless otherwise approved. NO SMOKING, NO PETS, NO PARTIES NO OUTDOOR FIRES OR FIREWORKS

This beautiful home was perfect for our big family. 5 bedrooms and a large living area with lots of seating for movies. We loved having the hot tub- it is also roomy and 8 of us fit comfortably. The porch and outdoor seating are extensive and the property is lovely. The service was excellent- every question we had both before and during the visit was answered immediately. We will definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sheperd's Lodge. There was plenty of room for our entire family. The house has great amenities. The only thing I would suggest is organizing the kitchen and do a deep cleaning under furniture.

We really enjoyed our stay at this house, was very relaxing and quiet. We had a little trouble operating the hot tub but they came out quick and helped us resolve the issue and got it running. By far one of our best stays so far.

This property was a comfortable fit for our family of 6 adults. I loved that it was so close to Wimberly. It is “lodge like”, a bit darker finishes and lots of wood, but very charming.
That said, it was a huge disappointment that the water filter and ice maker in the fridge still don't work. I saw this in another review, but assumed it would be fixed. I drink ice water all day long, so it was a big inconvenience for me. Also, I had forgotten about the hot and cold water being reversed in the main floor bath, and the first few showers were freezing! The pool and deck area is beautiful, but the hot tub doesn't heat up. It was never warmer than the pool. This could be a 5 star property if these issues were fixed

Our family recently lost the elder male of our tribe. Deciding to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday with our family at this beautiful home was a great decision. The spacious and functional home was second to the deck and pool/hot tub combo. The home facilitated fun and great memories for our family but also healing. Maybe that is why it is called the Shepherd House?

The house needs some TLC for the nightly price. Ice maker hasn’t worked in sometime yet they took time to laminate the sign , just fix the issues, hot and cold water reversed, another easy fix, master fan doesn’t work, another easy fix, sinks clogged don’t drain while using them, house seems run down & we have stayed at many homes on Flite Acres, beautiful street and area!

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here. The house is lovely and well-maintained. The pool, hot tub, and outdoor dining area were enjoyed by all. Our only feedback would be that one extra roll of toilet paper in the whole house was not enough for 8 people. ;)

We had a total of 7 in our crew and there was plenty of beds. The Pool and hot tub was amazing and very clean. We went zip lining one day and spent the last day in San Antonio. We had an time. Our last night we had a storm and enjoyed the storm under the covered porch

This house is located close to downtown Wimberely and was perfect for our group of 7 women. Each person had their own bed and the bathrooms were plentiful. The hot tub was great and we really enjoyed hanging out in it. The deck is huge and we had a wine tasting around the large table outside. The Property Management company was quick to respond to our inquiries and the only thing we didn’t like was that we couldn’t check in early without incurring a fee. Otherwise, we would stay there again.

We had such a great time in Wimberley for Girl’s weekend!! The house was exactly as I expected it, and when we ran into trouble with running the dishwasher and lighting the fireplace, the property manager sent someone out right away to fix it. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, and we were able to cook a couple meals together. The hot tub was amazing and easy to operate. Highly recommend and will definitely consider this property again in the future visits to Wimberley.

House was in great location except we didn’t know the deck was under construction. The microwave stopped working during the first couple of days we were there. The down stairs bathroom is tricky to get the hot water going and staying hot. For some reason we could not get the fireplace to turn on which as a real bummer since we wanted pictures by the fireplace and the weather fit the fireplace need. Overall we had some difficulties but we made the most out of it.

We are a group of friends who went to school together and graduated in 1969 and we get together each year for fun and fellowship. The Shepherds Lodge was perfect for us. There is a big dining table where we spent most of our time talking and reminiscing.
The accommodations were perfect…except for the leaking kitchen sink. My frustration is that someone knew the sink was leaking because there was a big white bowl under the pipes to collect the water. Evidently no one checked to see how bad the leaks were. I realize it’s a challenge to get a plumber on the weekend but I would have expected the plumbing issue to be repaired before our arrival. We did have communication with the property manager to make them aware of the problem and even sent video to show all the leaks. This needs to be repaired before this place is rented again.
Also the front porch was under construction and this was never communicated to us before arrival. We made the best of the situation and had a good time, but I was disappointed to have to deal with the leak problem.

We were notified a couple days before check in that there was construction on the front porch, which we were disappointed by because we thought it would be a lovely space to take a family photo. The front door is locked out with zip ties because of the construction, but I wonder if this could be a safety hazard for emergency egress. The hot tub was fantastic! Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were clean. We found some significant dirt under the couches (when the toddler lost a race car under there), and we were not given any spare toilet paper, but the property manager came and brought us some. The horses on the next door property were lovely to watch. We loved that the kitchen table expanded from 8 to 12 seats. The oven was a little slow, but it worked. There was a leak under the kitchen sink that we informed the property manager about. We did have a pool cleaning service show up un announced and the contractor for the construction was out there after briefly we were told there wouldn't be anyone doing construction. We did enjoy our stay. Wimberly is a lovely place to unplug.

We had a wonderful stay at this location. There was plenty of room for our group of 9. We really enjoyed the outside..morning coffee on the deck, stargazing from the hot tub in the evening! Location is perfect, just minutes from Wimberley.

My family and I recently stayed here for a family reunion weekend and we truly loved the home. It was a great size for our group of 8 adults and 3 kids. It is nicely stocked with all your cooking and dining basics and we loved being able to cook in the kitchen and not feel crowded. And we really loved the pool area, wrap around porch and deck. The property is amazing and we even had a lovely visit from the neighbors horses who were kind enough to let us pet them. We really liked that the pool was gated and safe and that the property was located so close to town. Its a short walk down to the river which was so nice to go explore even though there is not much water in there now. The kids still loved exploring the riverbed.
Unfortunately we did have a few issues. The main being the bed count being misleading. It advertises enough beds for 12 people but it is really only 11. And with that being said, one of the rooms is just a twin trundle bed with no trundle! So you can really only sleep one person in that room which is weird for a vacation home. There is a bunkroom with 2 sets of bunkbeds which is great if you have kids but an adult isn't really going to want to sleep in a bunk bed with kids so it kind of throws off the sleeping count. I would definitely suggest putting either a queen bed or a trundle in that room with the trundle bed so that the room can host 2 and then the home will actually sleep 12. It made for some uncomfortable sleeping for two members of our party.
We also had issues with the downstairs shower not getting hot water and some sink leaking in the kitchen. The management team did respond to a few of my questions which I appreciated and overall we did really have a nice time in the home. Its a beautiful house and if they could add that extra or larger bed we will definitely be back.

We enjoyed staying at Shepard's Lodge. The house of beautiful, the pool was awesome and it was so peaceful outside. It is located close to town and easy to find all of the local attractions. We will definitely stay here again.

Great family retreat - pool is wonderful’
Check in and out was fast- property is as represented. Clean comfortable accommodations for our group of 11 ranging in ages from 6-70. Kids loved the bunk room, pool, deer sightings, tree house and porch games. Adults loved porch , grill area, easy river access and kitchen. Plenty of room for our group as far as sleeping, playing, relaxing, and eating. Kitchen well supplied and easy to work in ( ice maker was out but we had picked up ice in town). Quiet country area with deer . The pool was amazing… the kids couldn’t wait to jump in ! Water Volleyball net for older teens/ nice spa hot tub for adults to relax in . Beautiful yard with lights strung around and fantastic propane grill area. Wood staircase was a little noisy but it made it easy to know when the kids were awake! Kitchen has most common small appliances and nice gas stove, plenty of plates/glasses/cookware for preparing meals. Most common necessities were there- soap/ shampoo/TP/ dishwasher soap / trash bags/cleaners/ potholders- there were only two kitchen towels but they do have LOTS of bath and pool towels for your use! We’d stay there again! We made fantastic memories ❤️

Family Vacation
We had a great time! The house and property are beautiful; the 2 acres of land it sits on creates a very relaxing, quiet environment. The pool is great & very clean. The gas grill works great - we cooked out every night and sat outside for dinner. The bathrooms and showers are all updated & extremely clean. The listing states It sleeps 12 but i think that’s assuming you have one on the couch. Take a look at the bed arrangements because it truly “sleeps 11” if you’re able to have 2 in each of the 3 larger beds. Highly recommend! We had a wonderful time & would stay there again.

Shepherd's Lodge was a very nice Family gettaway. The home and amenities are excellent, Wimberley the town was enjoyable and close to lots of activities. Our entire family was impressed with and enjoyed our stay.

The house is great. There was a lot to do on the property. We’ve stayed there before and it’s been wonderful each time. We were all girls from seniors to children. All did very well.

We called the property manager at 3:45 pm, after we checked in and were charged an early check in fee, to find out that the hot water, stove and gas chimney weren't working. It was in the 30's that day with a feel like in the 20's outside. I told the property manager that I was pretty sure the propane tank on the property was empty. They had me check a few things to see if I could get these things working, but nothing worked. I called back again at about 6 pm and told them that we were still without hot water and no way to cook. I was told they were going to send someone by. That person did not arrive until nearly 9 pm. He confirmed what I already thought was the issue, that the propane tank on site was empty and that he could not give me an ETA of when it would be filled or how long we would be without hot water or when we would be able to cook. He told me I would receive a call back shortly after he left from someone at the office so that they could get me an ETA. That call never came, I had to call them the next morning at 8 am. Needless to say the propane tank was filled at 9:30 am and we finally had hot water! This was by far the worst experience my family and I have ever encountered and we have rented homes all over Texas. It is unfortunate that this was our experience because I read a lot of good reviews. The other thing that was really disappointing about this house was that there was only one roll of paper towels and only one extra roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. We had 8 people in the house and stayed 3 nights. We ran out of both and had to buy our own. I didn't understand how a house/management company like this didn't better prepare.
