Staying at the Cahill home in matlacha was a wonderful experience! Their home is very welcoming and comfortable. Love the colors throughout the home, great vibe! Enjoyed coffee and cocktails daily on the new patio, we also used the screened in porch as well. Lots of restaurants & shopping all in walking distance. Rented kayaks by the Olde Fish House & toured Matlacha from Yucatan's to Hooked. Beached the kayaks at Hooked and had lunch. Your home was perfect for our Florida vacation ❤️

We have stayed in this area several times with very positive experiences but Maryellen’s place tops them all, we felt at home the moment we walked through the door. The house was clean & beautifully decorated with lots of local artwork. The neighborhood was quiet & friendly; within walking distance of shops & restaurants. Maryellen was a very gracious host & quick to respond to all of our questions. We were extremely lucky to have met her, we will be back again!! Karen & Ron

We loved this little house in Matlacha. The location is perfect. Easy walk to the shops, bars and restaurants. The house is very cute, fully stocked and decorated with colorful artwork painted by local artists, including her mom, who lives in Matlacha. The host, MaryEllen, is very responsive and has provided all the comforts of home. Would love to stay there again.

My husband and I love Matlacha, a quaint little town with an old Florida feel, and have traveled there from Wisconsin several times over the years, but this time we hit the jackpot and found Mary Ellen's place available for three weeks in a safe, quiet neighborhood on a pretty canal right in the middle of town! The location was perfect for us and within walking distance to most of our favorite restaurants on Pine Island Road (Bert’s, The Blue Dog, Perfect Cup, Olde Fish House, Hooked), and a quick drive to others just outside of town (Miceli’s and Yucatan Waterfront.) We loved the weather, of course as it was probably the only place in the country that was warm in January this year, so we were able to get our steps in by walking to one end of town and then to the other. Lots to see along the way! We also had fun fishing off the big bridge near Bert’s and the little bridge at the other end of town. Maryellen is an excellent communicator who provided lots of information to make our visit enjoyable, and was quick to respond if we had questions. We loved her house immediately with the roomy open concept, pretty beachy atmosphere, and lovely art throughout. Everything in the house was squeaky clean from the two comfy bedrooms with their own bathrooms to the brand new, well-stocked kitchen, roomy living room area, and large laundry room. The tv and Wi-Fi worked great which was an added plus. There's a cute lanai in the front of the house with a beautiful hand-painted mural and little table where we had our coffee often, and a sunny patio out back on the canal with nice outdoor furniture and grill. It was great fun to see the ospreys in a nearby nest, and to watch the pelicans dive bomb to catch their breakfast! We even had two storks that came to our back door often to say hello. We highly recommend Maryellen’s place in Matlacha! We sure hope we can go back again.

Matlacha is a laid back small fishing community with some artsy shops on the main drag. Very peaceful. The home on the canal is Florida chic and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The lanai is a great place to kick back and enjoy the water, birds, and fresh breezes. Opportunists abound for activities on the water, hiking, and sight seeing.
