The place was beautiful. We enjoyed our visit. More than enough room for everyone. The only issues we had were dishes were put away dirty stacked under dirty ones . We washed them . Beer cans and water bottles were found under the couch . The fan above the stove has bugs in the grease . We clean the grill it was really bad.

Check in was 4. We drove by at 3:45 and there were 2 men working outside on ladders. We drove around the lake and came back at 4:30. Still working. They were hired to install windows this weekend. When we said we rented this house for the weekend they called the owner and started cleaning up and let us in the house. We unpacked 4 vehicles during a torrential rain fall. Put all of our groceries in the fridge and upacked everything.
Then the owner showed up. Apparently her house wasn't to be rented out this weekend. I explained we were here to celebrate my 50th birthday and we rented this house back in June. She left the house and went to the Taylor Made rental office. About half an hour later I recieved a call that we had to pack up and leave the property and they sent us to a second property. 45 minutes later we arrived at the second property and the owner of that home was staying there that weekend. We called and complained and were sent to a third property. By the time we arrived it was now almost 8 pm. The first 4 hrs of our weekend getaway were horrible due to poor planning and/or miscommunication with the owner and rental agency. I will never book throuhh VRBO again.

It was the perfect little get away for us moms for a long weekend! We loved the fire place and all being able to sit around and chat together. It’s winter so didn’t get to use the dock/lake but the hot tub was key for relaxing. Also liked that the resort wasn’t too far for activities and took advantage of the quietness away from the hustle and bustle.

The fireplace was large and perfect for warming up on a cold winter day and the dinning and common spaces are just fine for a big group to share comfortably.

Excellent Property and Perfect House for our Ski Trip
The property and home was a perfect fit for our group of families with young kids staying over the New Year's Holiday to ski at Wisp.
The price was good, and the location was close enough (about a 15-20 min ride) to the resort, and has a beautiful view of Deep Creek Lake. Perfect for any season (though you'll need AWD during the winter). The fireplace was large and perfect for warming up on a cold winter day and the dinning and common spaces are just fine for a big group to share comfortably.

This property is run by a third party and they were disorganized and have yet to reply to our messages regarding many questions and requests pertaining to cleanliness and access to the jacuzzi keys. I had bigger expectations for a property that charges excessive fees.
The home was not clean. From spider webs to dirty pots and pans, we spent time cleaning messes left behind by previous guests. Also, they only provided 1 dishwashing pod and trash bag for the entire trip for a group of 12.
You only have access to 4 wood pieces per day, which is approximately 2 hours worth of burn time. Use more and be prepared to shell out extra dollars.
Safety: Not a fan of the unsecured mini door next to the fire pit. It can only be opened from the outside and is large enough for an adult to crawl through.
Overall, the location was terrific but all the small issues quickly grew into frustrations and for this reason would not return.

We had 7 adults and 4 children and were happy with the layout and cleanliness of the space both to gather as a family and also to spread out and have some quiet time. Our first impression was that the house was nicer in person than what the photos showed. The kitchen/dining area/living room is a great central location to be together and we really enjoyed spending time there in the evenings and roasting marshmallows at the huge fireplace. The porch is large enough to accommodate a group meal, but without enough seats for more than 6. Great for: - wonderful view of the lake and dock from the porch - only 1.5 miles to the State Park - clean! - hot tub: we used it every evening to warm up after swimming in the lake. Appreciated the locks for safety from young children. - convenient parking: 2 spots are on the same level as the main floor of the house. 3 additional are down an additional staircase from the main profile photo shown. - plenty of wood for the living room fireplace with a convenient pass-through to easily stock the living room directly from outside without carrying the wood through the house. A few areas of improvement: - steepness of driveway: for elderly and guests with physical challenges, please note that this driveway is very steep from the house down to the dock. Most in the area are similar, but worth noting. - dishwasher: the soap wouldn't fully dissolve and the top rack gets weighed down and prevents the water sprayer from spinning. We rewashed most loads and had to hand wash more dishes than we cared to. - more dishtowels, please (two isn't enough for a full week) - sunroom seating: we enjoyed the bright morning light in this large room but were disappointed that there was only seating for four people Ultimately, we would recommend this house for other guests looking for a comfortable and peaceful stay and easy access to the State Park.

We had a group of 10 and were loved it! There was plenty of room to socialize or hibernate in your room. Aside from the centeral air each room had an electric heater which was very convenient. No one wanted to leave after our 3 nights were up! The kitchen has everything you need to to cook. HIGHLY RECCOMEND TOILET PAPER, TRASH BAGS, AND TOILET PAPER. Upon arrival we were disappointed as we did not realize the property was on a extremely steep driveway and snow was on the way. “Highly recommending 4wd” doesn’t clarify the grade however the snow was plowed the day after the storm. One last complaint, the master bedroom located next to the main entrance has a major failure with the shower door getting stuck. This really needs to be addressed as two guest were stuck for some time.

Our stay at Oakleaf Lodge was nice for a weekend. The location is great and the home itself is beautiful. There was enough space for our group and the kitchen was well stocked with practically everything you could need. The pictures are a little decieving to make you think the house is directly on the water but there is a road that runs between that and the house. Not a big deal but something that others might want to know. As written in several other reviews, the home needs a very deep cleaning. There is dust and dirt everywhere that someone wouldn't necessarily be utilizing (mantel, decor, ontop of cabinets, under beds, etc.). I also agree that the home needs sprayed for spiders and mice. When in the mountains, nature is expected but some prevention for inside the house wouldn't hurt.

We fully enjoyed Oak Leaf Lodge and would absolutely be back! The only notes I have are that the back deck could use more lighting, it was pretty dark at night and maybe its just me, but I like a little more light when I'm sitting outside or in the hot tub. Also, and I'm aware we're in the woods, but there were A LOT of spiders. Spiders on the couch and even spiders IN the beds. Spiders outside are fine, but I do think that the home could use some spraying outside as well as something done inside to make sure there aren't quite as many spiders indoors. That being said, everything else about the house was wonderful, and I do recommend this property for group getaways. Private dock is a huge plus!

There were 8 of us for this vacation and we had a great time. The house was very big and accommodating, but you could tell it had not had a deep cleaning in a while. Certain glasses and dishes in the cupboards were dirty and dusty, and shelves had a thick coat of dust as well. The hot tub water was clear, but smelled awful like there were too many chemicals, so we didn't use it. The book inside the house also mentioned that the hot tub would be maintained mid-week, but that also never happened. Other items are just nit-picks, but I wish there were TVs in each bedroom, and that the TV in the family room was a bit bigger and had a HD source instead of the poor SD channels upscaled. Small, inexpensive things that make a difference. All in all it was a good time and the house was nice and in a good location, with a nice dock. We all had fun despite the small issues mentioned.

Upon arrival this property was very dirty and had a musky odor. 4 out of the 7 beds had not been cleaned or changed. (pics to show blood stain in one of the beds) prior to allowing my family to sleep there this place needed a complete scubbing and cleaning. A bathroom door needed attention in which it took a day to have someone out to repair. This trip was with elderly people which the description did not state there was a very steep hill to enter the property. When it rained there was a water leak in the kitchen area.The hot tub was dirty and had an odor. Property unsafe in the event of a fire with no exit for person in the rear of the dwelling and the second floor. The worst stay i have ever experienced on a vacation and would not recommend.

We enjoyed our weekend at Oak Leaf lodge. The beds were very comfortable, and the towels thick and soft. The stone hearth was huge and created the perfect atmosphere. There were 13 of us staying that weekend. The dinging room table and chairs only sat some of us. We brought up a portable table and 4 portable chairs of our own. If you have a large group, I suggest doing the same, so you can eat together. Relaxing in the hot tub, while freezing mist/rain danced on our heads was enchanting. There were plenty of quilts, and blankets to snuggle under. The couches were comfortable, however, they were threadbare and had blankets thrown over trying to hide the rips. I suggest they buy new couches. All in all, I would recommend Oak Leaf Lodge to anyone looking for a warm atmoshpere to enjoy a large group of family or friends.

We especially liked the fireplace and would have enjoyed it more if there was enough seating in the main room for all eleven of us. We spent thanksgiving at Oakleaf Lodge and had a great stay. The home was perfect for lots of cooking and had plenty of extras in the kitchen, stocked well with everything. Fireplace was amazing, beautiful and plenty of wood for us. Hot tub was clean and wonderful. The fam room couch was very old and had a few rips, it really needs to be replaced. For that kind of rent, we were surprised but called mgmt company and they could not have been nicer. TV could be bigger as well, but the home is wonderful and what a great stay!

We arrived Friday night the weekend after the big 2016 snow storm. the driveway had been plowed but there was still a sheet of ice under what snow remained. there were no lights to illuminate the steps that were also covered in ice and snow. the one lighter in the house was empty of fuel. there were no matches to be found. and no real trash bags in the kitchen. we made it work and the next day the snow melted, unfortunately revealing beer cans and cigarette butts from the previous occupiers. despite all this it was a great weekend and the house was awesome. it was a quick drive to the slopes. despite a few short comings I would still recommend this house.

This house was wonderful. We traveled with three other couples and a total of 5 children. There was plenty to do. The views were great. The lake is just across the street from the house. The only thing I would recommend is supplying seasoned wood. We could not keep a fire going because all the wood provided was too wet. We would be interested in renting this house again for a stay during the summer months.
