A nice nostalgic property. I stayed with my brother and his two adult kids (18 and 21), and a friend of one of the kids. I think my brother and I enjoyed more than the young people. It is a family rental, as there are 4 twin beds and two are in the bunk house and two are in a loft accessed by a ladder. I think a trundle day bed on the porch would be a great addition for another adult wanting to be in the vicinity of the one bathroom. We kayaked and swam and enjoyed a long weekend

The house was exactly as advertised, and very clean. The issue was the dock area. The photos show a nice long dock to launch the provided canoe and kayaks and a safe way to enter the water. Unfortunately for our stay in mid-August, peak water time on a lake, 90% of the pictured dock was out of the water and laying along the side of the house. The single short section that was there had a ladder hanging off the end of it, hanging by plastic zip ties only. To get the canoe or kayaks in the water you had to slide them through the overgrowth and off the side of the single section dock and over the slimy rocks to get them into the water. Getting ourselves into the kayaks or canoe using the zip tied ladder was treacherous at best and very unsafe. The canoe was longer than the dock and due to the zip tied ladder, it couldn't be slid off the end of the dock. The provided oars for the canoe were broken in half upon arrival, something the Manager or cleaning staff should have noticed prior to our arrival. The caretaker did arrive unannounced on Monday bringing supplies that should have already been there. She said she was leaving the next day for an Alaskan trip so she wasn't around if anything was needed. We contacted the Manger that the caretaker advised us to do. She was away on a cruise and replied over a day later regarding the dock and that it may have not been put in due to high water, however the caretaker when she arrived said she couldn't believe how low the water was. So, it couldn't be a high water issue and we've been in some form of drought condition here for the last year. Water height had nothing to do with it. All the dock sections in the yard are height adjustable. She said they would order oars (I guess for the next renter). I sent a follow up message to her during our stay and now a week after the vacation is over still no reply, no apology, nothing. Just ignored. So both the caretaker and Manager weren't around. The whole selling point of the lakefront rental is the water and the access to it. The access to the water during this stay was almost impossible. A 5-foot dock through the overgrowth with the zip tied ladder dangling off the end. Not as advertised in the photos and should have been disclosed prior to our stay that the dock was almost useless. There are many houses on both side of this one and they all had their full length docks in the water. We simply wanted what was advertised in the photo's, that's what we paid for.

What we were impressed with the most was the privacy and solitude! Also, the central A/C was truly unexpected and appreciated during our recent heatwave. Great cottage!

We enjoyed staying at this lovely property with access to a charming lake. The landing/ deck overlooking the lake was perfect for watching the beautiful sunrise and sunset each day. Cabin is comfortable and has AC for the hot days. We used 3 of the kayaks daily. Wonderful stay!!

The location of the property is perfect. The teenagers spent their days on the water and the adults relaxed. There is very good hiking a short drive away. It is always a pleasure to stay at this cottage.

We stayed in May before docks were in so there was no access to the water but the decks are wonderful! The house is very comfortable. The sleeping arrangements outside of the bedrooms are rustic but the young adults enjoyed them. Can’t say enough about the setting, beautiful!
