We loved most everything about this home except that the upstairs shower had no instructions about how to work it and we weren't provided with coffee. It was during the Thanksgiving holidays so we couldn't contact the property managers and that was of some concern. We tried calling and got no response back on our cell phones. But we did enjoy our stay and the balconies were so much fun to sit out on and we really loved the house.

The rental was everything I expected. It was in a perfect location in the hills. The beach &nd town were 5 minutes away. The cabin is well kept and very comfortable. We loved how the deer & wild turkeys were in the front yard daily. The wife, my daughter & I all had a great stay. Thank yu & hoping to return in the future.

The cottage was beautiful, well stocked and comfortable. There is a small pull out dining table and a lovely patio table and chairs under the trees. The auxiliary room is a great den/spare sleeping area but it was a little too cool for the baby in March. Wild turkey and deer passed through the yard multiple times a day. A pleasant five blocks from the trails and coastal views of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. There is a nice path through the wooded Strawberry Canyon nearby but use care, we found a tick afterwards; we always check. Great restaurants—Robbins, Hidden Kitchen, and The Spot. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The Poppy Cottage has lots of charm! It was very clean and well appointed, sits back in a very quiet neighborhood in the forest, with daily visits from wild turkeys wandering the neighborhood. Well appointed kitchen, and one upstairs large bedroom with spacious walk in shower, and a small downstairs bedroom with a comfy mattress. The kitchen was very nice with newer appliances. The house sits on a steep driveway incline, but has room for two smaller cars to sit on flat ground at top of hill in garage and adjacent to garage. Very nice cottage!

My husband and I spent 8 nights at the cottage. It’s a fun, quirky layout and very liveable. We stayed in the upstairs loft bedroom. The bed was very comfortable. The room adjoins the bathroom with separate toilet and sink area. There is a large shower that had plenty of heat and water pressure. The nozzle is a little hard to pull out but we figured it out.
There is also a secret reading room/daybed with tv adjacent to the 2nd balcony, which is accessed through the walk in closet.
The kitchen was easy to work in and fairly well stocked. Just remember to bring coffee and filters as there were none on hand.
We enjoyed daily walks through the peaceful quiet neighborhood. The streets are lined with mature pines and California live oak trees. Flocks of wild turkeys, deer and gray squirrels were everywhere.
We chose to drive 5 minutes to the Fiscalini ranch for ocean walks along the boardwalk, parked off of Windsor south of highway 1. Moonstone beach and of course the charming town area is only a 5 minute drive also.
We love Cambria and would stay at the Poppy cottage again if the opportunity arises.

Our family has stayed at the Poppy house numerous times. All enjoy the property and the kitchen so well equipped. The patio area very nice to enjoy the outdoors watching the wildlife too. The management company is very good with all arrangements. The many times we booked with them never a problem.

Very well equipped and a very nice property. Outside furniture was too dirty to use. Needs a comprehensive clean. The kitchen was one of the best equipped ones we have ever rented. WiFi and cable TV with a Bose audio system too.

This was our second stay at Poppy Cottage. Great little home and a nice space for a small family or couple. The home sits in the middle of the property far enough from neighboring homes, making for a very quiet relaxing get-a-way.

Comfortable but could use a slight update and much better instructions and attention to detail from the management company in helping to navigate various aspects of the "cabin" (e.g., it took us a while to find the dining table - it retracts into the kitchen counter; there are four remotes for the TV downstairs and three for the one in the second floor with unhelpful handwritten instructions and no TV access - I have the same system and it works with one remote; the vintage 1960's thermostat cannot be set at an accurate temperature control) These (with the exception of the lack of cable access) were minor inconveniences, but they can be addressed with little effort or cost for the benefit of future guests. We enjoy 4-5 stays a year at home-share venues and the instructions and the attention to detail are typically much better. We enjoyed the stay, nevertheless, with the help of glorious weather and the beautiful California coast

There is now a nice leather couch in the living room which feels much cleaner than the old green one, a couple other newer chairs and a nice new pull out couch in the bonus room where the day bed was. The deer and turkeys are a lot of fun to watch come through the yard and the property is beautiful with plenty of trees and even a couple tire swings. The kitchen has a great assortment of cooking materials and spices, oil, etc. Sitting on one of the decks at night watching the sun go down with a glass of wine is a real treat.

Our stay at Poppy Cottage was great. We enjoyed the unique lay out of the house, the well stocked kitchen, and the cozy living room with fireplace. The doggy door and yard were perfect for our two little dogs. The few negatives were that there is no inside dining table, the fold down couch in the small room is not long enough for an adult to sleep comfortably, and the carpet needs a good cleaning or replacement. Even with these small issues, we would definitely recommend this place to friends and will rent it again in the future.
