Situated in Tamarindo, this lovely condo for $150 per night is a great choice for your next trip. AN IDEAL SPOT ON AN IDEAL BEACH. The Casita is located directly on the sands of Tamarindo Beach. It is a studio with 1 king bed or 2 twins, 1 bath and sleeps 2. Casita Del Mar is a separate private unit built up in the trees in order to enjoy the ocean view and the cool ocean breezes and gives maximum privacy. Located on the southern end of Tamarindo Beach, midway between Tamarindo and Langosta, the Casita is an ideal hideaway. The Casita is situated in a tropical garden in a quiet, secluded neighborhood across from Isla del Capitan and three doors north of Hotel Capitan Suizo, one of the premier hotels in Costa Rica. Yet just a few steps to the white sands of Tamarindo Beach puts you in the best location for sunning, surfing, swimming, kayaking to Isla del Capitan or a moonlight stroll after dinner. Walk two minutes to Hotel Capitan Suizo and its world-class restaurant or walk ten minutes to the heart of Tamarindo for shops, restaurants and night life. Best of all, you can look out at the Tamarindo Bay to check out the waves, watch the fishing fleet go out and return each day or simply read, relax and monitor the daily activity of the beach. The Casita is a spacious studio apartment up high in the mango tree and coconut palms, many of our guests refer to it as "The Treehouse". Casita Del Mar has a bath with an open shower, a full kitchen, air-conditioning, and an outside terrace in the trees. There is cable TV, Wi-Fi and maid service. Off-street secured parking is available on the property. Enjoy days of swimming or surfing, horseback ride through the surrounding rivers and hills, savor the local fiesta scene, and then relax with a private massage on the terrace overlooking the garden or have a special beachside massage. Stayed with my elderly mother. I had looked at the previous comments and can definitely vouch for the 5/5 ratings the place always gets. It is well deserve. The location is just perfect! It's so close to the beach and to some excellent restaurants. The place felt very safe. Wifi worked well. We enjoyed the visit of the monkeys, so close to us. Communication was excellent. Can't wait to come back!

Little apartment was perfect for us. Property is well taken care of the roger was very informative on the front end about activities, the place, Transporation, etc Would definitely stay again. Maybe taking both properties with our whole family.

This property is very well situation, walking distance from downtown Tamarindo and directly on the beach with a surf school next to it.
William is the manager and frankly, he made our stay worry free and went out of his way to help us out.
The only downside for me was the lack of curtains, made us wake up pretty early as lots of light coming in at 5h30am. Other than that, it was clean and had absolutely everything we needed. Would recommend :)

We loved everything about our stay! Great communication from Roger which included useful information prior to our arrival. William the property manager was always available and scheduled a last minute zipline tour as well transportation to the airport.

Roger and Pat are wonderful and welcoming hosts. Studio is well equipped and clean, perfect for a couple. Location is right on the beach, quiet area, close walk to restaurant and grocery stores, new good quality bakery across the street.

The room is very comfortable and clean. It met our needs perfectly. Outside space and access to the beach is great and just a short few minutes drive to everything in busy Tamarindo. The only minor issue for us was with the car getting in and out of the gated driveway. (Heavy and with padlock) It felt very safe and secure which was nice, but automatic gate opener would be a huge improvement. A wonderful surprise was the amazing restaurant and bakery directly across the street so no need for the car there!

The casita was perfect for the two of us. I can’t think of anything I would change. Check in, amenities, patio, grounds, security, location all perfect. Loved walking out onto the beach; sunset surf break right in front of the property. Will definitely return again, maybe when mangoes are in season so we can observe the howlers from the deck.

A nice comfortable apartment in a great location. Cold A/C , English and Spanish TV, Great Internet. Short walk to downtown restaurants and on the beach!
Only issues were on the communication front. The workbook that contains all of the security codes had a typo! This place is VERY secure , which is of course a positive thing, but every access is coded and/or padlocked. You need to take pictures to remember which code and which key. And when there was a typo, we were kinda stuck for a few minutes. We recommend going through each access (including ding putting in the codes) when checking in.
Still, we give this property 5 stars and would definitely stay here again. This is a great property and a fantastic location. Don't miss this one!

The Casita Del Mar was by far my favorite place I’ve ever stayed in Costa Rica. It was steps to the beach and had every amenity inside. My son and I visited Costa Rica on a surf trip and it was perfectly located for all the great surf spots in and around Tamarindo. It was within walking distance to all the local attractions downtown and extremely safe. We will definitely be returning and staying at Casita Del Mar

Had a wonderful time here , everything is within easy walking distance except the beach,open the garden gate and your there.Safe parking if you have a car,but unless your planning day trips,forget the vehicle. Lots to see and on foot,or rent atv or golfcarts.Would book again in an instant.Thanks Pat and Roger. Hope to see you again someday.

It met all of our wishes; a very short walk to the beach, privacy and quiet nights but easy access to all the restaurants and fun in the town centre. We made about half of our meals in the suite thanks to a very well stocked kitchen including a good sized fridge, 2 burner cooktop, microwave and access to a bbq. The massive mango tree in front of the deck/balcony provided so much fun viewing groups of howler monkeys (the mangoes are ripe for monkey meals in March), squirrels, iguanas and tons of birds, including parrots! The housekeeper and gardener kept everything clean, tidy and comfortable, inside and outside.

We stayed in Casita Del Mar for 10 nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The location is perfect for viewing wildlife, hanging on the beach, and an easy short walk into town to enjoy all the great restaurants. Looking forward to our stay next year.

We had a great stay at Casita Del Mar. Roger and Pat were in their Casa during our stay and recommended some great restaurants. We loved walking the few steps to the beach and using their provided boogie boards and going a little way down the beach to watch the sunset each night. The casita had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony by the mango tree and watching the monkeys and parrots. Very convenient to walk anywhere in town, but out enough to be out of the hubbub at night. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful time. The location was steps to the beach through a private entrance and exit. From the beach in front it was a short walk to town center (about 10 min) or you could walk along the sidewalk on the street side. We enjoyed eating on the beach every night at the various restaurants. And enjoyed the beautiful sunsets every night. The owners have a separate property on site. They were great hosts very knowledgable and helpful about the area. You won't find a better deal with this location in Tamarindo!

For context: I come to Tamarindo 4-5x a year. I used to live in Tamarindo, and run my own rentals. So I've seen and experienced a lot of places.
This casita is perfect. The location is excellent - right on the beach. A short walk into town. Totally quiet and chill and peaceful. Monkeys nearby. A gorgeous garden with banana trees, birds of paradise flowers and others.
The unit is a studio. It's a good size, not small. Nice balcony.
And everything in the unit is extraordinary quality. The design and construction were done thoughtfully and perfectly. The experience of staying at this Casita is frictionless. Everything is perfect.
There was absolutely NOTHING that I was like "meh ....but I can deal with it." Which is COMMON in Tamarindo.
It's not luxurious like a fours seasons hotel. But it's luxurious because it's designed well, constructed really well, and the location is amazing.
I want to book for another trip already.
This trip is perfect for 2 people. Probably not well suited for any more.

The place was fantastic, we had more than enough space and all of the amenities we needed. The place is located directly on the beach and only a short walk to the center of town. It is far enough from the main drag to be nice and quiet but close enough to allow you to be a part of the action.

Roger and Pat along with William were always helpful and very responsive. We stayed for two weeks and enjoyed it very much. Close enough to downtown yet far enough away to feel you had privacy. Lots to explore in the area and within 45 minute drive. Highly recommend Casita del Mar.

We enjoyed our stay at the casita at Casa Del Mar on Tamarindo Beach.
The casita was clean and the staff were very nice. Willy met us at the casita having arranged transportation from the airport. The going rate of $80 plus tip was about what we expected. He also arranged the boat tour of the estuary ($35 per person) and we were picked up at the casita directly by the boatman (Victor Hugo). This was one of our favorite activities. We saw about eight crocodiles, a troop of howler monkeys, sea fowl, iguanas, and other local species. The monkeys did not visit the casita, perhaps due to mangoes not being in season on the big mango tree. Kathy did laundry for us twice as we sweat through our clothes every day.
October is rainy season and it rained half the nights, generally after we returned to the casita. We did get caught in the rain twice including our first night. We actually got lost on the way back, having walked right past the gate. Our fault for not knowing the names of all the houses around us…before going out. The local people tried to help us get back to the place. It was laughable the next AM.
The National Park excursions are about two or more hours away, so we did not do those, not wanting to spend five hours in a day in a van. We did take a cab to Playa Brasilito and Playa Conchal and spent the day there and had a wonderful fried red snapper at Hotel Brasilito. This was one of four times we ate this local delicacy.
The only downsides to the Casita were the ever present grounds staff, the non-working blinds, being on a busy road….and the ants. It is set in jungle like area along the beach, so some bugs were inevitable. Despite “crumb management” I squashed quite a few.
The work crews and trucks start at 0600 as October is a big “maintenance” month before high season and there is considerable construction going on all over Tamarindo due to its growth. The front gate was painted while we were there.
I would recommend this rental for a couple as it is just right for two people and is in a great location for walking the beach. It is stocked with all you need and we used the boogie boards. We walked up and down the beach every morning and went around the point to Playa Langosta, usually followed by breakfast at Langosta Bistro, our favorite.
Roger has a great place in Casa Del Mar and for larger groups, the main house is much larger and luxurious.
