We loved our stay in the Portland area at the home of Elena and Larry. This is a beautiful home - so quiet, comfortable - and all the details to make a wonderful stay are there! From arrival, to the wonderful breakfasts, to the great recommendations, our visit to the Portland area exceeded our expectations. Elena gave us great recommendations - from beaches to dinners, and helped us with all of the details. We were very lucky to experience this great level of hospitality. Thank you Elena and Larry!

Elena and Larry were perfectly gracious and lovely people who readily shared their love of Maine and the surrounding area. They blessed us in many ways and encouraged us to try some things that we might not have thought about on our own. Elena is a student of her guests and was able to point us to things that we especially found lovely. The property is immaculate and the gardens are totally inspiring. We loved our time there. I would highly recommend this place to stay for couples both older and newer. The room inside their home has a common entrance and easily navigable stairs. Elena thinks of everything to make your stay lovely and inviting. Her love for life and Larry's knowledge and care for Elena are beautiful. They make a fun couple to get to know. Breakfast with them was generous and a blessing. Cape Elizabeth is a great place to explore and very close to Portland. Its an easy drive to many other places of interest and rest too. Thank you, Larry and Elena. You made our stay a wonderful memory that we will have with us always. May the road rise to meet you and may God hold you in the palm of His hands.

This is a spacious, clean and comfortable space with beautiful gardens and outdoor access. Elena and Larry are welcoming and very available. In addition to providing gourmet breakfast that includes fresh fruit, eggs, granola etc. they offer a wealth of information regarding the area based on your interest. My daughter and I were in the area for a college open house. We needed to be up and out both mornings on the early side. Elena and Larry were attentive to our schedule and our dietary restrictions. They are a warm, generous and considerate couple who truly seem to enjoy hosting. Their home is quite special and they have made the VRBO space equally special. I have stayed in several VRBO's on the East and West Coast. There is no question this is one of the most pleasant spaces I've stayed and the location is ideal. Portland and other surrounding points of interest a VERY accessible and close. I will definitely return for another stay.

My wife and I had an amazing experience at Elena and Larry's home. The location was perfectly situated giving easy access to beautiful beaches, wonderful walking trails, and was only a short ride in and out of Portland. I don't think that this would be the right location for everyone's visit to the area, but it certainly was right for us. The owners of the property woke up every morning and made us a jaw dropping breakfast and had some amazingly helpful recommendations about things to see and more importantly things to eat. In so many ways staying here was like staying with your favorite relatives. This was exactly what we needed for our Baby Moon, but I can definitely see this being a bad fit for a bachelor/bachelorette party. I would highly recommend this rental to those looking to explore Portland and its beaches and look forward to returning in the future.

This is our fist experience using VRBO and it's hard to imagine any other listing being as welcoming, clean, and fresh as this shared home with Elena and Larry. My husband and I are retired and stayed for two nights in June 2019 prior to celebrating a family wedding. We wanted to give them 10 stars for all the reasons noted in previous reviews including hospitality, spacious upper level with room, bath and sitting area, cleanliness and more. Their home is beautifully designed and decorated with the love of nature, art and books evident throughout. Even in mid-June, the gardens were lovely. I was a wee bit concerned about the location being too far out from Portland, but it was no problem at all--just a short, pleasant 15 minute drive into the heart of Portland along the waterfront. The breakfasts were beautifully presented with an abundance of fresh fruit, local bakery treat, eggs and granola. This is our first visit to Maine and enjoyed the area around their home so much, we returned to the area our last vacation day to enjoy the nearby coastal lighthouse and seafood restaurants. We saw notices for a Cape Elizabeth Garden Tour in mid-July. Their gardens would top the list if they happen to participate. Although this is more than we have ever spent on accommodation (frugal as we are!), it was worth every penny. Rosie and Ken, Saint Paul, Minnesota June 22-23, 2019
