About this cottage rental
Welcome! Nestled in the Siuslaw forest on the Central Oregon Coast, our cottage sits on several acres of private property with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Designed and outfitted as a place to let-go, relax and reconnect with yourself and nature, our cottage can be enjoyed solo, with a lover, family, pet or friends.
The cottage is newly remodeled with top-of-the-line appliances, tasteful decor and beautiful woodwork. The floor plan is open, creating an environment of togetherness. There are large windows throughout the cottage, allowing the beauty of outside nature to be enjoyed inside.
Off of the living area is a private bedroom with one queen size bed that overlooks the ocean. Around the corner, a full-size European bath awaits your pleasure – candles and bubbles welcome! For nights enjoyed by hearth, there is a wood-stove in the main room stocked with firewood and an electronic fireplace in the bedroom.
For outside dining and relaxation, there is a wrap around deck and two terraces with ample seating and dining areas. These are the best places to enjoy the sunshine, fresh air and sounds of nature!
We call our cottage Sans Souci – French for ‘without worry or trouble’. We’ve designed and outfitted our cottage to accommodate a visit truly without worry. It’s an attitude and experience we hope you realize here and are able to take with you when you leave.

We loved our experience! The cabin was immaculate along with the grounds. Privacy reigns here and we took advantage of every second we had to be hermits. We will be back!!

This property has a touch of old magic to it. Surrounded by trees and wild meadows, the house has a commanding view of the Pacific. It is so quiet and secluded that we were treated to a cow elk grazing below us and a black-tailed deer grazing above us.

The place was perfect for the two of us. The views from every where on the property pretty spectacular. We were given detailed directions to find the house.Being from the Midwest, we are not used to such steep driveways but made it. The house it self was as pictured. Anyone who books through VRBO will appreciate this: there were more than enough bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths of higher quality: more than enough sealed bars of soap and hand soap of higher quality:more than enough toilet paper of higher quality! Easy check in and check out. We requested an earlier check in and the host accommodated with no hesitation. If we ever get to the Oregon coast again, will definitely book here.

This listing overall is everything that previous reviewer‘s have mentioned. It’s extremely private. It has beautiful views. The house itself is gorgeous with high-end finishes and a stunning clawfoot tub. There’s a lot of places to walk around with your dogs all on the property, taking in different views of the ocean.
However, this house is infested with termites. We were unfortunately there during their mating season when they grow wings and they fly around and swarm. This meant that we were killing dozens and dozens of termites. They were all over the bedroom, on the bedding, in the towels. A bug bomb by the owner one day offered temporary relief, and we thought that was it… however the next night they were back and worse than ever. Instead of having a relaxing evening, we were literally up killing termites by the dozen. Unfortunately with the smoke that blew in, this made for a very terrible last night at the property and we both barely slept . The owner was apologetic and kind and refunded our stay. He did offer us a room in his own house that last night to stay in, but with Covid we were not comfortable with that. We just stayed out in the living room away from the bugs.
If the termite infestation is addressed then I would absolutely stay here again and recommend this property to anyone. It’s a very unique and wonderful space. I hope this issue is remedied soon.
