The canal and the regular dolphin visits were a big hit with our children. Property is in a great location, walking distance to the beach. We had a great 1 week vacation. With a bit of love this property could be a 10: here and there you saw traces of the harsh sea climate like rusty probably decommissioned boating Davits or a boating port that needed a paint job. But these were details compared to the overall great vacation property, I would rent again for sure!

I thought I would be disappointed not being on the beach. This location was perfect. Very short walk to beach. Our very own pool. Outdoor shower.On canal where we saw Manatees, dolphins and lots of different fish. Property clean and stocked with everything we needed linens, dishes etc. Host promptly responds to questions. Already trying to figure out dates for our next visit.

I was surprised upon arrival that the home had an old feel to it. When I went in the house it smelled musty but did clear up after a couple of days. There are areas in the ceiling where the drywall is sagging from what appears to be water damage. The garage smelled bad but after leaving open a few days it got better as well. There was a black coating of dirt on the floor that stuck to our bare feet so we had to keep on socks. This same black dirt was all around the pool area and furniture. All the beds creak when you get in them or even roll over so if you are a light sleeper this will frustrate you. On the bright side there was a nice welcome basket, and the house was nicely stocked with expected supplies.

They provided everything we needed to have fun; beach towels, beach chairs, bicycles, fishing poles, pool. We fished in the canal in the backyard, two dolphins visited us daily, lots of birds and wildlife to watch. Walking distance to beach, Stumpy Pass state park, restaurants and shops. Manasota Key is a cute little place. We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing week. Owner very responsive.

We absolutely loved staying here. We've stayed in Manasota Key several times and usually stay beachside, but settled on your beach house because of the pool and dock. Great decision! While we didn't have a beach in our backyard, it was a short walk away, and we had the ability to just jump in the boat and go, and bringing home grouper and mangrove snapper caught on the public numbers just a few miles offshore is a big plus! The resident dolphin and juvenile were fun to watch in the canal. The pool was great to jump into after being on the boat. We will definitely be booking again in the near future. As expected, needs pilings in slip so boat does not hang up on sea wall when tide changes.

This property was just as advertised. Beautiful location with a great patio to have coffee with the local birds. Dolphins daily in the canal to greet us. Close to the beach and easy access to Lemon Bay with our rented boat!! Peter is a great host and was attentive and timely in his response. I would definitely rent here again

Wonderful Vaca
The house is quaint and “old Florida.” Great location not far from the beach which we walked to quite often. Having the canal in our backyard was wonderful. We fished (and caught) fish right from our patio. We were also visited by a dolphin who was playing with her food near us. The pool was clean and refreshing and we enjoyed it very much. Peter was very responsive and easy to work with. The area is beautiful and there are many things to do. The neighborhood was quiet and not overly busy.

Beach and fishing
We had a great time. We usually go to the Up of Michigan for vacation so this was a nice change. Not over crowded. Not at all touristy, which we loved. Fishing was super great out the back door, but we drove to the bridge instead. Short walk to the beach. Got to walk with the turtle patrol 3 mornings which was amazing and my hilight of the trip.

Heavenly vacation.
I was very anxious about mold and mildew with the property on the canal but I was very pleasantly surprised that my worries were unfounded. The house was extremely clean and well maintained. The location was exactly what we were looking for. The only negative I had was the black flies which were very plentiful and hungry. We solved the issue with bug spray

Family reunion
We had 5 rental units and 4 of them were on shore view dr ocean front, but ours was by far the best on lemon bay canal. We loved the home, pool, patio, dock and fishing. My adult son is physically disabled but was able to fish safely from the boat dock. The only thing I found that was lacking was no grab bars in the toilet and shower areas. Those would have been helpful for us older folks and those with disabilities. Great vacation home

Great for Boaters & Beach Lovers
House was nearly perfect. Pool and outdoor area relaxing. Neighborhood was nice and less than a mile from state beach or Englewood Beach, restaurants, etc. Would recommend and would stay again!! Thank you !!

Englewood Retreat

Relaxing beach vacation get away!
A great place to stay! We took our boat and the home was conveniently located on the canal leading out to the bay for quick access to great fishing! The canopy over the boat was nice too! A short walk or bike ride to the beach access was easy. Great pool to cool off on the hot days and the house had everything you could ever need! Another great feature was the private outdoor shower when coming in from the beach or the bay. A quiet neighborhood and a relaxing beach atmosphere. Parking for a boat trailer and 3 cars was plenty.

Amazing house for vacation!
I brought my family on vacation and we all had a wonderful time! The house had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our stay. There was enough space for all 8 of us and the pool is amazing. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone.

Great property in a great location
My family had a great time. The property is located so close to everything. We really enjoyed the golf cart pick up service to and from the local restaurants. We saw so many different types of wild life right in and around the channel behind the house. Everything from manatees to jellyfish, egrets, and grey heron. We caught several varieties of fish in the channel as well.

Great Escape!
Took my family down to this hidden gem and enjoyed a wonderful week on Englewood beach. We docked our boat in the slip and took in some beautiful scenery on our boat rides down to Boca Grande. We took the grill out back and BBQ on the patio by the pool. The house had an efficient layout and we did not need half the clothes we took since we had the laundry facilities. Great stay!
