About this house rental
Thank you for inquiring about our ocean front beach house family rental home located in Ocean Lakes Family Resort in South Myrtle Beach. Ocean Lakes is one of the largest family resorts in the country. A gated community with 24 hour security ensures your family a relaxing vacation. LINENS AND TOWELS ARE NOT INCLUDED. We own other ocean view homes in Ocean Lakes House #MH18B which sleeps 12 and is lake front with ocean views; and VRB0#1501208/House #1031 our newly build 6 bedroom next door to this home (1023), and ocean front #`1119, VRBO#1313785. This 6-bedroom home boasts surrounding decks on each floor with gorgeous ocean views from every point. Each bedroom has its own private entrance to the ocean-view deck. Our home is fully furnished. There is ample parking for up to 5 vehicles (Parking fee of $12 per car per day, charged by OL). I rent my golf cart in addition). This is a GREAT home for extended family vacations. We are dog friendly for $100 per dog/per week fee. The first floor offers a flowing layout with wood flooring throughout. There is a stocked (bring your own food) kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, stove, oven, dishes, and utensils. There is a breakfast bar with four stools. A full bathroom on this floor includes a tub/shower combo and a stacked full-size washer and dryer. The bedroom includes 1 queen bed and a bunk bed set with full on bottom and twin on top. This room also has a SMART tv, closet, and sliders to its own deck with ocean views. The living room has a couch and two chairs with ocean views along with a SMART tv. The dining room table seats 6 (there is a table on the deck, as well). Finally, this floor has a den/bedroom combo with SMART tv. It holds a full couch with a queen-size pullout. This room also has sliders leading to your private ocean-view deck. Upstairs has two full baths (tub/shower combo in each). The master has a king size bed, sliders to a private deck with ocean views, a SMART tv and a closet. There are two bedrooms with queen size beds, closets, SMART tv, sliders to private ocean-view deck, and dressers. The last bedroom holds a queen size bed and a bunk bed with a full-on bottom and a twin on top. Included is a SMART tv, sliders to a private ocean view deck and a closet. Your typical day may include watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee on your private deck with surrounding views of the ocean. If you don’t feel like cooking breakfast, you can drive your golf cart over to Sandy’s Snack Bar where you will find a pretty good southern breakfast for 6 people under $30. Ocean Lakes Family Resort offers mini golf (nominal fee), skate park (free), NEW (seasonal) water slide and water park with lazy river (free to use), and swimming pools (one indoors) with a tot splash zone. The beach is free to use and is manned with lifeguards. The average ocean water temperature in summer is 85 degrees. There are nightly family activities at the Rec Center (check the calendar for scheduled events). One of the most unique activities our family LOVES is the nightly golf cart parade. Guests decorate their golf carts and slowly drive up and down the main strip by the beach. Each cart you pass the kids do a “high five” with the passing cart. Although a difficult event to describe, once your family does it, you too, will be hooked. Our family has been vacationing here for 10 years in our RV. We love it so much, we purchased five rental beach homes so your family can experience this hidden gem of a family resort, too. Your Saturday to Saturday rental (seasonal) in our home will include all the amenities of Ocean Lakes. Our home is a non-smoking, clean, comfortable and secure environment. We supply free wireless internet. We also offer our personal golf cart for rent at $475 per week (seasonal) (must be over21 and licensed to drive). Ocean Lakes also rents golf carts at a rate of $488 per week. Please note: This is our family home. We prefer to only rent to other families as this is what our home is set up for. We do not rent to anyone under 25 years old or large, non-family member groups. We encourage you to return the same week year after year and we will hold your week up to 13 months in advance. Jen is an awesome host. Very punctional with replies. House is huge, well kept, & clean. Two wrap around decks gave plenty of seating. Only issue we had was on Thursday when the one neighbor made us feel uneasy watching us on the deck. Other than that, we had an awesome time: surf fishing, walking the beach, golf cart rides and just sitting talking with family. I would highly recommend this house to anyone. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was our second year staying at the house. The first year we had a number of issues, refrigerator shelves missing, fold out couch broke, multiple repairs scheduled during our holiday. However, our 2023 stay was considerably improved, all the repairs/replacements had been completed. We enjoyed the balconies every day all day. Our family had a great time this year!

Wonderful location! Can't say enough about this home. Outside deck and views were amazing. Had room for all golf carts and cars for our family. For our large family, we had ample room with space to spare. Never felt like we were on top of one another. Our family enjoyed our stay immensely. The owner was very accommodating and made the entire experience pleasurable from booking, receiving parking passes in advance to departure. Will definitely stay in one of the homes owned by this owner on our next visit.

Location to the Beach was amazing. Property manager was great. Had one issue with the washing machine but that was fixed within an hour! Property manager was amazing she was there to answer any question and Ocean Lakes is so much fun. Can’t wait to book another stay would definitely recommend this listing

Every year I bring my pageant winners to ocean lakes and we absolutely love staying in this home. Perfect location, beautiful views, a good amount of parking. It was perfect

Overall, the place was cool. Can see the beach from every deck. Close walk to the beach.
The only thing that threw us for a whirl was there weren’t any linens or towels. Had we had known ahead of time to bring linens and towels, we would have.
If you’re flying from out of town, be prepared to swing by walmart and buy some. It’s not listed in the description and shows on the ‘cleaning practices’ that bedding is washed in 140° water so can be deceiving.

I loved the house. It was perfect. The kids loved it also. They had places to go an the beach was easy to access. Not a lot of drama which was the best part of the trip. We'd come back again.

My family and friends take an annual Christmas trip to the beach. The location is absolutely perfect you are close to everything. They have the kitchen loaded with all kinds of pots, pans and appliances. I would suggest you bring a can opener and scissors. Those are the only two things we couldn’t find. We didn’t use the grill it was way too cold and windy. Renting the golf cart is a must! The campground is huge. They have catch and release fishing so bring your poles. Register early so you only have to pay $10 per day per car. The fold out couch was broken but the couch itself was still comfy. The owners are very responsive with any questions or concerns. My only complaint is that I didn’t know about this place sooner. Oh and the water gets so hot and there is no water pressure problems. It made showers feel so amazing.

The floors were filthy. We could not walk around in socks. The home could use some repairs and updates. Sofa bed was also broken. Small hole on soap holder in upstairs bathroom. Door going outside in upstairs middle bedroom handle is broken. Ventilation in home after cooking is not good. Need non stick frying pans. Griddle handle broken.

We enjoyed our stay, had plenty of room for guests. The only things that did not go well was the broken sofa bed and the kitchen essentials need an upgrade. We stayed over Thanksgiving week and did not have items such as can opener, decently sharpened knives, and the fridge was kind of small for a house that can accommodate 12+ guest. The towels and wash clothes need to be updated and would be nice to have them all the same color as well. Otherwise we enjoyed the ocean views and the wraparound balconies that each room had entrances.

This property was in a great location, very clean, and exceeded our expectations. We had no problems at all with the house, we thoroughly enjoyed it and our vacation. We hope to come back next year.

Ridiculous
Place was filthy! Pictures to prove my feet were black after walking on the floors barefoot! Tvs didn’t work they sent shady people out that vaped in house and broke my sons HDMI cord! Next day so called property manager showed up and argued with me that vaping was ok in the house and her daughter told me that I shouldn’t be complaining that I was on vacation- uhm sorry 6000 dollar vacation - I shouldnt have to clean it and all tvs should work- we had 3 rooms never work all week so kids had to share rooms and living room!

Nice location in Myrtle Beach at Ocean Lakes
You can not ask for a better location at Myrtle Beach located at Ocean Lakes. Plenty of room for my entire family of eleven (11). Great view of the ocean on a minimal traveled street in Ocean Lakes.
Three concerns I had with the property that I bring to everyone's attention. The decking on the first floor had numerous protruding nails on the wood deck. The deck overlooks the ocean and was well used, but a concern with not only the adults, but my four (4) granddaughters. A little work in nailing down the protruding nails would avoid any further safety concerns. The second concern was the ground level decking on either side of the cement parking underneath the house. Planking needs to be replaced and repaired, as numerous boards were not secured. Unfortunately golf carts are a main stay at Ocean Lakes and many golf carts each day would cut the corners and run over the planking. The gas grills unfortunately were not in the best condition. Understand the wear and tear that the grills take and unfortunately not everyone takes care of other property as they should. . Ended up using the Weber charcoal grill in lieu of the gas grills offered.

I stayed for many years as a child in Ocean Lakes and we decided to venture back with our own children and relive the fun we had as kids. The amenities of Ocean Lakes and proximity to the beach are the only reasons we can leave this property 2 stars versus only 1.
Upon check in we were greeted with layers of dust and stained furniture, sticky kitchen appliances. Ceiling/bath fans, table lamps, light switches and fixtures looked as though they hadn’t been dusted in a very long time with dust at least a half inch thick. Dust bunnies coat the walls. An artificial plant in the corner was coated in dust so thick it was eventually thrown away by housekeeping. We immediately brought this to the attention of our host, Jen, who to her credit sent a cleaning person in to dust but they captured only a fraction of the mess. Truly this place needs a major deep clean and overhaul.
Next come the roaches. While making lunch for our children on day 2 of the trip, cockroaches began pouring out of the back of the stove and onto where we were preparing our food. Again, we notified the host who sent an exterminator in. However; with the type of cockroaches it was recommend they fumigate and spray, which could obviously not be done while we were there. So, they laid traps around the house until a future date to spray, TBD! Needless to say this did not solve the problem and the cockroaches were frequently seen in the kitchen, while cooking food and in cabinets.
Given these issues, we were refunded the golf cart rental by our host. It wasn’t enough. There were so many other issues with this property that it’s clear the owners have not put money into the property or truly addressed deep rooted issues that are clear through reviews as long as a year or two back and the golf cart refund seems to be a trend. Other issues we encountered were popped nails & splinters on the decks, broken and tattered patio furniture, and a grill that has a single working burner.
If you want to camp in the elements, I suggest bringing a tent and booking a campsite a few aisles over in the campground. Save yourself the thousands we paid to stay in this property. If you want a clean beach house with hotel quality amenities, look elsewhere.
We will absolutely be back to Ocean Lakes & the Myrtle Beach area again but will not stay here or any of their properties, nor could we recommend them to others. Listen to this review and others - I wish I had.

This was our first trip ever to Myrtle Beach and Ocean Lakes. We fell in love instantly. The home was nice and clean. Could use a few upgrades, but overall very nice. Ms. Jen was very helpful and quick to respond with questions about the property. We would reccomend staying here, and we will deffinately be back in the future.

The Perfect Getaway

The house was not clean properly, floors were dirty, kitchen appliances are old, we had to clean everything in the kitchen before using it.
There were alot of small bugs inside the kitchen cabinets and on the counter top. So don't leave food outside uncovered.
We rented the golf cart, it was not charging even thought it was plugged over night so property manager was very responsive and refunded me the money and we had to go through Ocean Lakes to rent another golf cart. We were lucky they had enough since it was not high season.
In general we had good time because of the location and the amenities at ocean lake but we tried to spend majority of our time outside the property.
I wish I read previous reviews as some of the items I listed were mentioned before.

This is a great place for families. We enjoyed waking up looking at the beach and sitting on the wrap around deck drinking coffee. We also enjoyed using the golf cart within the Ocean Lakes property. There were 15 of us and there was plenty of room. One family of 3, one family of 6, one family of 2 and four single adults.
The three bathrooms came in handy for morning showers and all around use. There was enough parking for all of our vehicles and the children did not want to leave.
We will rent again.

Jen was hands down the best property owner I’ve ever worked with on VRBO and that says a great deal. We will be frequenting this home as it’s location and cleanliness are top notch. I would recommend this home to anybody who wants a short walk to the beach in a quiet and peaceful community.

This is a great place for families. We enjoyed waking up looking at the beach and sitting on the wrap around deck drinking coffee. We also enjoyed using the golf cart within the Ocean Lakes property. Location and ocean view was breath taking! The dated furniture and dust in the home was so much, I was embarrassed by my family invite. We made the most of it for the holidays but they definitely need to update blinds, comforter sets, couches, etc.

Bi yearly Myrtle beach vacation.
Jen was very pleasant to speak with. Home was beautiful and spacious. Loved the covered main deck especially that it wrapped around. When the sun was on one side, we sat in shade on the other. Parking was plenty big and still had space to play our corn hole that we brought. I would recommend this house.
