Located in Newport, this charming condo for $205 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Oceanfront serenity awaits the two of you at Ocean Wind Retreat, a very romantic getaway spot. Dog friendly, view of the light house from the bedroom with a queen size bed and TV. Free WIFI. There is a full bath with a tub/shower combination. The front room has a kitchenette: fridge, coffee maker, micro-wave, toaster, electric wok (there is no oven or range) and utensils. A gas Cuisinart BBQ is available for private use by the deck on the ocean side of the front yard. The front room has a Captains Bed perched high to optimize comfort and the scenery outdoors. Step outside to a spacious oceanfront deck and yard, or seek out the path overlooking the beach with love seat and complete privacy. A large indoor soaking tub for two, beautifully tiled, with ocean views and an indoor sauna add to the rest and relaxation of this wonderful retreat! The bedroom: queen bed, open closet, dresser, TV and "fire" light for ambience, has a view of the light house. Host provides flowers and gift basket free of charge. A favorite vacation, birthday and honeymoon spot. Located at the South end of Nye Beach in Newport, OR, just next door to Georgie's Beach side grill for scrumptious dining. Enjoy the Newport Performing Arts Center, many area restaurants, art galleries, wine tasting and several music venues. Less than 3 minutes to the Newport Bayfront, Hatfield Marine Science Center or the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Walking distance to two parks. This apartment is on the ground floor, with a permanent residence above where the host/owner is available if needed. A wonderful location for the artist, writer, editor or anyone just seeking quiet solitude for inspiration. Please adhere to the policy of No Smoking. My wife and I stated at Ocean Wind Retreat for a week and absolutely loved it. The sauna and soaking tub make it feel like your own personal spa. We were so comfortable that several days we just hung out, read, and relaxed. The private bench with ocean and beach views was also a unique aspect of the Retreat, perfect for reading, and holding hands while watching the sunset. Every element of the interior design obviously received tons of thought, and the Jeannie has spent every effort to ensure the total comfort of her guests. We will definitely be coming back!!

Our host Jeannie was an exceptional owner and a very kind person. Truly a people's person. One is greeted with soft music, dim lights and a basket with goodies and wine. She has an adorable dog too. The apartment was extremely clean, cozy, and beautiful. It was a true romantic and relaxing getaway for both of us especially since we had a view of the Pacific Ocean from anywhere in the apartment and outside in your private bench. We slept so good with the sound of the waves. The next door stairs to the beach is a plus. It's so relaxing to take walks on the beach. Luckily, the sun was out all the 5 days we spent there. We will come back next summer for sure!!

Ocean Wind Retreat, was that and more. The apartment was very clean and beautiful throughout. You could see the love and planning that went into the space, inside and out. Jeannie was a dream to work with. She made us feel welcome and never intruded upon. It was so nice to stay at a place where you could feel the love and the care put into it. I would definitely come back.

Our host Jeannie went above and beyond to make our stay phenomenal. Place is on Nye Beach. We used this property as our main base for exploring the Oregon Coast. Home is as advertised and does not disappoint. Jeannie left goodies and fresh flowers for us and our pup. Loved our stay and would stay again !!

Upon arriving at this wonderful retreat we were greeted by the Incredibly kind host. She had a gift basket waiting for us and our fur baby. The home is in a wonderful location and it puts the treat in Retreat. Be sure to check out her art cards as well because she is a fantastic artist. I was able to do very beautiful thank you notes as gifts after my wedding. I will likely visit again!

I loved lounging on the comfy elevated couch and watching the ocean. Plus, the place was extremely clean. I had been worried about it being a dog-friendly rental, but it was so clean that I couldn’t find any evidence that a dog had ever been there! I highly recommend this place!

Don & Jeannie's place is my go-to beach retreat. Perfect location with easy beach access and great views. So many welcoming touches (awesome gift basket, fresh flowers, unique art) and Jeannie and Don are the best. Highly recommended. Please just don't reserve it when I want to go (smile).

Be advised to get to the beach was definitely exercise, 80 steps one way, I looked forward to the cardio workout but my 78 year old friend did not attempt the steps. Secure steps/railings and benches for resting during the descend and ascend. Close to many beautiful sights and towns. Newport has fun places to experience the aquarium, however, was very disappointing over half of the exhibits were closed/ under renovation?? The sea lions were a hoot at The Bayfront Harbor District and Nye Beach Historic District! Oh, and make sure to say hello to Spot the hosts' dog! I can say I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I revisit Oregon from Michigan.

It is a lovely, peaceful retreat, and the owners provided many little welcoming extras for both us and our pet. Right at the beach with stunning views of the sand, waves, and wind from every window. We loved our vacation in Newport in this very sweet Oceanwind retreat. It felt very private but when ever we needed assistance Jeannie was always available. Our dog loved laying on the deck sleeping in the ocean breeze. It was difficult being without a kitchen for two weeks so we plan to stay at this location for long weekends. There were so many small details for us to enjoy like a fresh flowers, great art, warm coverup blanket for napping and a great gift basket. They even provided a delicious bottle of wine and Champagne! I highly recommend this unique comfortable one bedroom.

Where do we even start? Our almost week stay at Don & Jeanne’s retreat was magical. Location, location, location. Sitting on the bluffs above the beach was amazing. I can’t even tell you how many hours I spent on the private little bluff lookout, whether it was reading or enjoying my morning coffee. What a view!!! We brought our little dogs and it was such a delight to have a small yard for them to enjoy. We also brought a collapsible dog fence which came in handy to fence off some of the yard, keeping it fully enclosed. The unit itself was amazing!! ! The moment we walked in, we felt like we were home, as if being embraced by a big, welcoming hug! The cleanliness was amazing, especially considering it is a dog friendly rental! Each room was graced with fresh flowers, or little bedside chocolates, or treats for the pups. A care basket was waiting filled with the most amazing treats! Don’s creative woodwork and Jeanne’s beautiful artwork were so appreciated, as was luxurious use of the jacuzzi tub and sauna. The love and generosity sprinkled throughout this little home away from home is an expression of the kind and wonderful hosts. This is truly a special space, and anyone who has the fortune of staying here is blessed indeed!

Delightful stay with great hosts!
We felt so welcomed at Jeannie and Don's downstairs apartment. All of the details in the apartment, such as a welcome basket of wine, fresh pears, and snacks, fresh flowers in each room, area information, and even a welcome toy and snacks for our dog, were all very much appreciated! It was very clean and not overly decorated, with good books and a faux fireplace in the bedroom that we liked. We enjoyed Jeannie's artwork, and the opportunity to see and purchase her art cards. The layout is a bit strange, with only two chairs at the table and a large elevated sofa that our dog enjoyed a great deal. We didn't know what was in the large space under the sofa as that area was locked. There was a nice whirlpool and sauna that takes up a lot of room in the apartment and that we chose not to use. The location of the unit is excellent, within walking distance of the lighthouse park to the south and to Nye Beach to the north, and just across the bridge from the aquarium and ocean science center. The public wooden staircase down to the beach, just on the other side of their property's fence, was very convenient. The view is appropriately presented in the on-line photos, best seen from the elevated sofa which was awkward for us elderly folks to access. The ocean view from the kitchen table, where we spent most of our time, could be greatly enhanced by trimming the beach front shrubbery. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you, Jeannie and Don!

With well maintained pubic beach access stairs right out of the front yard gate and a secluded, private ocean viewing bench on the fenced property, no need to spend much time inside. Don't expect to cook much because there is no stove, only a microwave. We didn't mind, because Georgies is right on the other side of the fence as well. Everything I had from there was excellent and the serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner + bar. The bed was comfortable and even though the tub is a bit dated, it is super comfortable and has a great view. The owners, who live in the top half of the condo are nice folks and have the cutest dog. We don't have pets anymore but they are allowed at Ocean Winds Retreat. Overall I rated this Excellent because it was the perfect place to hang out while visiting the beach for a few days. Bring your favorite kite and some binoculars, and relax.
