About this house rental
I have lived in this house now for 20 years and have completely renovated home to specs that I believe that Mr. Wright would have found in line with his way of design. Woodside sits on a wooded two-acre lot in a very old neighborhood.
You are within one mile of restaurants and grocery stores on the north side of town. A great neighborhood to walk and ride a bike along the river just down the hill from Woodside. I have reconstructed the kitchen for a chef to have fun with their cooking and wine storage. I hope you will enjoy my home as much as I have for the last twenty years.

Beautiful setting, partially wooded lot with good privacy. Interior restored meticulously with an uncharacteristically "larger" kitchen. Quiet, quiet, quiet. One of the only pet-friendly FLW properties. The dogs loved the spacious yard.

This is the 11th Wright Usonian where I have been able to experience an overnight stay. Each one has been a memorable experience and Woodside was no exception.The thing that I enjoyed most was reading the 40 page detailed description of the building of Woodside by Dr. Davis who was the original owner. I was surprised that Dr. Davis had frequent phone communications with Wright during the construction process even though the architect was in the middle of multiple projects (including the Guggenheim Museum).If you decide not to prepare your own meals in the gourmet kitchen, I would highly recommend having lunch at the 1912 Wilson-Vaughn mansion, a Georgian inspired home that was designed by Samuel Plato, an African-American architect. I also enjoyed a dinner at the Tomahawk restaurant that is housed in a former private club built in 1907 in Mission style.I continue to be most appreciative of Matthew and other like-minded home owners who make their Wright designed Usonians available to the public. Spending a couple of days in one of these homes is the only way to really appreciate Wright's vision.

We enjoyed the historic setting and understand the challenges of maintaining such a site. The house is unique and of interest. Everyone enjoyed the setting. Cons: One of the showers had a very low flow rate. We were also infested with wasps inside. We killed many! The kitchen was well-appointed. The dining area was comfortable. Offer better descriptions of the rooms. Two bedrooms shared the same shower, separated by adjoining shower doors. Great neighborhood with park near by. Conveniently located. Price was expensive but for a one time experience we were willing to pay a premium.
