Situated in Encinitas, this charming cottage for $249 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. The cottage is a separate unit, a backyard 'granny-flat' that's about 750sq. feet . You have two seperate bedrooms, a kitchenette/living area plus bathroom. Freshly remodeled, this 'beach close' charmer looks out upon a secluded garden and lawn and loads of flowers. Eclectic is the feeling. Attention to 'creature comforts' and simplicity was the intention when renovating[Italian and Mexican tile accents, hardwood floors...] . An adjoining [but completely private] second bedroom is generously sized and includes a double bed. The kitchenette and living area overlooks the lawn and garden area.. . NO SMOKING in house or on the grounds. We respect your privacy, and ours. NO EXTRA FOLKS ON THE PROPERTY..NO EXCEPTIONS. (meet family and friends off the premises) We see the situation as most attractive to couples, or couples with children, looking for a peaceful setting within a short walk to our little beach town and our great beaches-, Cardiff, Solana Beach, Encinitas and Leucadia, a sample of Southern California beach living. We are located in one of north San Diego County's oldest neighborhoods, the Highlands of Encinitas. A 10 to 15 min. walk and you will find yourself in the quaint seaside town. Ethnic dining is big; great Italian, Peruvain, Thai, Indian, Japanese, etc.- Encinitas seems to be on the cutting edge of the 'conscious life-style' movement so health minded options abound. Whole Foods is close by. While the beach and ocean remain the main attractions, the beautiful gardens of the Self Realization Fellowship are a short walk into town, a resource for relaxation and rejuvenation. Our town is 'coming of age' you might say and it's all just a short walk away. Return to the tranquility of your secluded and cozy garden cottage. It’s perfect for two people. We spent a lot of time hanging out on the patio enjoying Carol and Tony’s wonderful backyard. Very comfortable stay, all within walking distance of the town and local beaches. Food in town was great, everything you’d expect in a SoCal beach community. Our hosts were pleasant and attentive.

Carol's property was perfect for us! It was a great location, within walking distance to the 101 in Encinitas, and Leucadia Blvd, where we had family. The backyard was quaint and had a water feature which made spending time there very enjoyable. Carol & Tony were very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable.

We had a really great time staying for a week at Tony and Carol’s. The casita was very comfortable, the backyard was peaceful and quiet, and in a great location walkable to the main strip of restaurants and stores and most importantly the beach! It’s also easily drivable to kids activities in and around San Diego (and Encinitas has some great playgrounds). Tony and Carol were easy to communicate with and we appreciated being able to utilize beach toys, boogie boards and beach chairs during our stay. We would absolutely return!

Listing is accurate; perfect holiday getaway. Weather was stormy but cottage was warm and comfortable. 15 minute walk down to Swami’s beach and restaurants on the strip.

Nice, clean, easy-to-access location with very friendly and helpful property owners. I stayed with my wife, our 5-month-old, and my mom and it worked out well for us. Carol provided a porta-crib which worked great, really nice outdoor space.

This was a perfect casita for two for our short cycling holiday in Encinitas. Carol and Tony were lovely hosts. It's exactly as advertised, and even though it's close to the highway it is super quiet. We slept like logs after long days of cycling! It's about a 12 minute walk to Swami Beach. Only downside for us road bikers was the evil hill at the end of each day to get back to the property. :-) But probably good for the cycling muscles! The delicious pound of french roast coffee that was left for us was an added bonus.

Tony and Caroline were great hosts. We had full use of the back patio and yard while we were there. Easy 15 minute walk down to swamis beach and into town. Lots of great restaurants and surfer watching. The little Kaseeta in their backyard was comfortable, just a touch on the small side but it was great for my son and I.

Tony and Carol are the best. The property itself is comfortable, clean, well cared for. The backyard is an oasis. Make this your home base for any San Diego area trips. I hope we can return soon.

Delightful and comfortable
We enjoyed relaxing in the small garden and the proximity to Encinitas and the beach. The Casita had every comfort. The water pressure in the shower was low not a game changer. The hosts were friendly and helpful but also respectful of our privacy.

We had a great week on the California coast. The location is great for beaches and has many dining options well.
The cottage was clean and comfortable and has everything you need if you want to prepare small meals, enjoy the patio, or go to the beach to enjoy a sunset.
Tony and Carol were wonderful hosts, responsive and helpful with good suggestions for things to do in the area.

My friend and I stayed for 6 days. Tony and Carol could not have been more pleasant. The casita was spotless and super roomy for the 2 of us. 2 comfortable beds, lush backyard with table and chairs, a kitchen that worked perfectly for us (no full size oven if you need that, but who cares? You’re on vacation!) We drive to the beach and downtown, although could have walked the 15 minutes or so it would take to get there. I won’t stay anywhere else the next time we go to Encinitas. 5 stars!

Lovely, Peaceful Getaway!!!
Carol and Tony welcomed us, were friendly, knowledgable, and provided a safe, clean, nicely decorated, cozy beach house steps away from their home, yet has its own patio and beautiful gardens with fountains and birdbaths- so relaxing! We loved it so much that we are planning anither stay here next spring!!!

Tony and Carol are excellent hosts! They greeted us and were always attentive to us coming and going weather we needed anything, getting directions or suggesting dining. The guest home is accurate to the description, clean quaint and very safe for a family. Dining and beach accessibility is excellent, we brought our bikes and found it easy to get to dinner or the beach with our kids. We would definitely rsvp this Vrbo again.

Everything was excellent, close to the beach, quiet, easy access to freeways, kid friendly, and Carol and Tony were excellent hosts! Anything you could possibly want for the beach was available to borrow! And when our 1 year old ‘borrowed’ the TV remote there wa no issue sending it back.
