About this cabin rental
Our cozy cabin is located in the Mystic River gated community along the banks of the world renowned Nantahala River with the Nantahala National Forest along the facing bank. The cabin was built in the early 1970 prior to the current 25 foot building setback requirement, part of the cabin is literally over the bank of the river. Because its river bank location is grandfathered in we are very limited in our ability to alter or remodel. The unique location of this cabin is part of its charm. If you are looking for a luxurious newly built cabin, our property is probably not for you. The cabin is very modest and basic but has everything that you will need If you are looking for the most unique location in one of the most beautiful river settings you will ever find and are willing to accept clean but minimal accomodations, then you will enjoy our property. A private get away from the busy world.
Fish from the deck if you choose or watch the whitewater rafters float by just a few feet away, wishing they had your view. We have 2 miles of private river frontage plus 2 islands for your fishing and hiking enjoyment. You also have access to miles of private hiking trails, fish pond, and pond side pavilion in our nearby sister community.
If that is not enough excitement, how about a white water raft ride down the Nantahala River stopping off at your own private cabin for a half way break or just relax on the covered porch and watch the river pass by.
Whatever your idea of a vacation in the Smokey Mountains includes, our riverfront cabin is the perfect lodging solution.
We have multiple properties so if we don't have availability here we may have something open so please ask.

If you are a person or persons that loves a relaxing place to stay, this is the place.It sits within very few steps of the beautiful Nantahala river covered with mountains front and back. But the best is sitting on the little porch listening to sounds of rushing water and if you happen to like trout fishing the backyard fishing has the perfect site. Can't wait till the next trip,

This is the third time staying here and the cabin is very clean, beds so comfortable it was hard to get out of them to go fishing! Trudy is very responsive with any questions we had. Our favorite place to stay! Thank you Trudy!

The physical location of the property was great, on the river as described. As others have mentioned it's not a luxury property. The 2 recliners need to be replaced. The entire cabin needs a deep clean. Dishes were dirty and there was an ant problem. Beds were ok at best; if you like firm you should be ok. Road noise was a bit annoying. 2 AC window units, 1 is loud and honestly a mini-split would do a better job. I had a good time enjoying the river but felt the price was a little high considering the above.
