About this house rental
Situated in Granite Shoals, this charming house for $350 per night is a great option for your next trip. Well-appointed 4BR home w/large windows facing lake, huge kitchen w/room for 'too many' cooks. Two Pungo 14-ft and two 10.4-ft kayaks with special vests and paddles for complimentary guest use. VRBO/ system allows for up to TWO payments. Your reservation is confirmed after receipt of first payment which includes a damage waiver fee of $60. No other place to list this info. When requesting a quote, we'll need your desired dates and number in your party, both of which can be changed later. ~~~ Here is the ideal getaway for rest and relaxation with something for everyone. This 2900 square foot, two-story house has four bedrooms, and a large well-equipped kitchen. Located on a protected cove a short distance from open water, you can enjoy views of the lake from the floor-to-ceiling windows on the second-floor and the second-level deck that wraps around the house. House is 20' from lake and boat dock. There are numerous public boat ramps and quiet parks just around the corner. You can enjoy a game of foosball downstairs on the Shelti Pro III or win at poker on the game table also downstairs with super comfy chairs. There are numerous games for both children and adults. There are two corn hole games in the garage and plenty of room to play. With one 65" Roku TCL and a Samsung 46' TVs one 20" w dvr & Wii, board games, a library of 70 DVDs, Google wireless Internet, and foosball, there is truly something for everyone. We have a portable speaker that will connect by Bluetooth so you can take your music with you. From the lake house, you can boat east to the Wirtz Dam, south to Horseshoe Bay, or north to Kingsland then go west and explore the Llano River. Lake LBJ has numerous coves to explore. Splash Rentals of Kingsland delivers AND picks up assorted watercraft. Just Yakin will bring/take additional kayaks. We have 2 x 14 ft and 2 x 10.4 ft kayaks with vests and paddles. Home had more than enough room for our family, easy access to our boat that we were able to launch right around the corner. Linda had things labeled for ease of using appliances, etc. We all had a wonderful time, will come again!!! Loved it!!!

Linda was great to communicate and help with any questions. I broke my collarbone, had surgery, and needed a recliner for sleeping and she accommodated me. The kids enjoyed the kayaks a bunch (this was their first time on kayak's). We rented a boat for a day of tubing. Plenty of dishes and pots and pans to cook with for our large group. Did our smores on the grill and grilled hamburgers out. Too hot at this time for a fire. We enjoyed the downstairs game table and played games there nightly. Nice neighborhood to go walking in and took advantage of that. The neighbors invited us over for ping pong too.

The Peacock house was accommodating and served our family well. The room downstairs that slept 6 was great for the kids. The kitchen was well stocked and the location of the Peacock house was aquiet, serene place. We could have used another bathroom with 13 people but it worked out fine. Thanks so much!

Family fun on Lake LBJ
Though there are many spectacular properties on this lake, this one was perfect for a multi-generation family gathering. We had plenty of comfortable beds, seating and dining space, indoors and outdoors, and the furnishings weren't fussy or fancy. The kitchen is outfitted with everything you can possibly need and we cooked every meal while there for a week. We enjoyed the kayaks and swimming each day, and lounging around on the hot afternoons. The friendly birds, silly squirrels and sweet baby deer kept us entertained while hanging out on the decks (upper and lower levels). A great place that allowed us space to gather together and enough space to spread out.

The layout of the house ensured that we could all be together when we wanted to be and have our own spaces when we needed that. Enjoyed being able to kayak easily. The kitchen was so spacious and well laid out.

The Peacock was a nice size for my family of five that included 3 teenaged boys. Although the house is dated, it had everything we needed for a long weekend. The master bedroom downstairs was comfortable, but the headboard was dusty. The master bath was also roomy, but had too many products in the shower and on the counter tops (shampoo, body wash, lotions, etc.) Most people bring their own toiletries and do not use bottles that are left in the shower. The cabinets also were full of “stuff”. Clean cabinets and empty spaces are better, in my opinion.
The upstairs that included the 3 queen sized bedrooms and living area with kitchen were also plenty big. The kitchen had everything one might need to prepare a meal, but was also cluttered with too many personal items from the house host that didn’t seem necessary. There were also ants on the countertops in the mornings even with the counter’s wiped clean and no dishes in the sink. We kept all the groceries on the dining table or in the refrigerator in fear of them getting infested with ants.
Outside the upstairs deck was large, but needs a good pressure washing or to be blown off before guests arrive. The tree that blocks most of the view needs it’s limbs trimmed and the big bushes leading to the boat dock are too big for the space and block the view of the water. The big picture windows in the dining room were nice to see the lake, but the cracked pane with the caulk outline was ugly and took away from the pretty view.
Cleaning supplies were everywhere. I understand the concern that Covid brings, but having supplies centrally located or in one particular area would’ve cut down on the clutter.
We enjoyed the use of the 4 kayaks and took them out every afternoon of our stay. The assortment of life jackets were also appreciated.
Overall we had a comfortable stay at this VRBO location. For the cost per night it seems the owner could do some updating and clearing out of a lot of clutter to make it a more appealing rental.

Enjoyable retreat on the water. Clean, comfy, restful. Great house, lots of space, great beds, loved the wrap around top deck. Very well supplied kitchen, everything was well labeled. Owner was proactive and very accommodating. Boys (both teen and hubs) loved the foosball table and we played many games at the game table. Tons of deer, always fun for those of us from the city.

The biggest concern was the outdoor patio. Too much of the railing was not well secured. A child or adult could have fallen against it and I am not sure it would have held.Also in one bathroom cabinet (over the sink) was a bottle of cold medicine. I am not sure why it was there but could have been a danger for a child, The closets were almost not useable because of other things being stored there.One upstairs bedroom was not usuable because it was too musty. Why I do not know. My daughter was supposed to use that room and could not.Good - Lots of useful kitchen items.Over all clean inside.Plenty of room for our family. The area in which the home is located was great.Neighborhood was quiet.
