This house had everything we needed to truly enjoy Big Bend. Guidebooks, great beds, great kitchen. We had a great time

The property was clean, close to the road but felt isolated and by yourself. It was well stocked and the owners thought of everything to make the stay comfortable. Great stargazing and access to hiking (both National and State Park). Can’t wait to come again!

We had a really nice time at this property. The location is excellent with a short drive to Big Bend. Everything was clean, had plenty of space for 6 people, and all the amenities we needed. Property owners were quick to respond with questions and easy to contact.
The main issue to improve would be the following: the back patio had loose wooden planks that need repair, there was some sort of wasp nest in the holes in the patio roof, and the bathrooms could use some updating of the sinks, tub, and shower. Overall we had a great time and would stay there again!

This is a fantastic house and the hosts know exactly how to prep and supply a home for guests! Definitely recommend!!!

Better instructions on how to turn the TV volume down are needed. We called and emailed with no reply so never watched any TV. Back wood platform was a little hazardous and falling apart. Needs work. Otherwise very nice.

This house was such an incredible place to stay. We had enough room and were quite comfortable. It feels more like a home because of how inviting it is. Communication with owners was great and we loved our stay. Just a note- there are 2 bedrooms upstairs and 2 bedrooms down which was VERY helpful for our group given that we were traveling with some people who appreciated not having to climb stairs (prior surgeries, age, etc.). Overall, such a great place to stay in an amazing environment!

The house was just as described. Bed was comfy. Didn’t spend much time in the home. Location to Big Bend was perfect! Would definitely return!

We had four adults and two kids (ages 12 & 9) and Lajitas Casa Grande couldn't have been more perfect for our needs. Everyone had their own space with room to spare if you took advantage of the upstairs common space. Neighborhood spread out enough for quiet and privacy. Only drawback is drive time to get to BBNP entrance near Study Butte, but we knew that going in and just planned a few extra minutes for starting our day at the park. Thanks for an excellent stay. We look forward to coming back and renting again!

Everything was easy. This should be a four star property. Everything was fine. Cool neighborhood, close to state park and national park. Little store one mile down the road. Quiet and dark. Our issue was the oven and cook top. We never got the oven to work. The cook top is glass and I just don’t like glass cook tops. It did not have a grill. The description did not say grill but we still figured there would be one. We did not complain about the oven so I don’t know what the issue was.

This was a geat place to unwind with friends in my favorite part of Texas.. We all slept well and anjoyed our stay. The only minor negatives were the out-of-order oven and lack of an outdoor grill. Both easy fixes that will greatly improve things for guest who enjoy cooking. The beds were comfortable. The internet, no small thing in far West Texas, was strong and the TV with Netflix was much appreciated on a cold, windy night. I would definately recommend this house for families and groups of friends looking to escape and recharge.

My family and I stayed here for a week-long trip to visit Big Bend National Park. It was an ideal home with plenty of room for my two children, my husband, and I. The home is about 30 minutes from the park entrance, 15 minutes from Terlingua, and minutes away from Lajitas Resort, all of which we visited several times during our week. Out-of-state visitors to West Texas should know that the power grid is different than we were used to (being from suburban Virginia) and we lost power a couple of times during our stay. But it always resumed and the property manager was very patient with our concerns. Just charge your cell phones regularly and keep an adventurous spirit, and you'll have a spectacular week just like we did. Thank you so much for having us!

Great location with beautiful views in all directions. Just one negative in that a BBQ pit was not on site and so had to bring my own.

We had a multi-generational week's vacation in the Big Bend area. The oldest two generations stayed in the Lajitas house and we had our kids over for meals a few nights. The space was great for having 12 people together. The 8 of us who stayed in the house were very comfortable. The majority of the beds were very comfortable. The twin beds give you the option of a very firm bed and a mostly soft bed to pick from. The kitchen had pretty much everything we needed to cook meals and had enough place settings for 8 people and enough silver wear for at least double that. The back patio was a wonderful place to sit and relax, have breakfast, read, work, watch the sunrise, etc. Even on the hottest days, the breeze on the back patio made it comfortable in the evenings. The refrigerator is full size, has plenty of space and was plenty cold. There were more than enough towels/washcloths for our group of 8. The sunset views from the front of the house were gorgeous. At night, it's dark enough to see an amazing display of stars. The location of the house is great - you feel remote and there weren't any noisy neighbors but it's still close enough to the conveniences of a gas station, general store and a couple of nice restaurants in the resort area. And, it's only 15-20 minutes from Terlingua with additional dining and shopping options. The wifi internet was performing nicely while we were there and allowed one of our kids to remotely log into one of his night classes and allowed one of the adults to complete something for work. They both enjoyed having the quite, spacious & comfortable area upstairs to do their work at, including a small table & chairs to sit at. Having a washer/dryer was also very convenient. If we stay in this area again, this will be a first choice for us.

Renting this property was super easy. Everything was literally as stated and I had zero need to contact the property manager during the stay. I got charged exactly as stated, the distance from tbe property to Bug Bend National Park was ideal, and the Lajitas Resort golf course is a MUST DO. Two families of 4 were on my stay, and everyone felt safe and had a great time for two families the sleeping arrangements are ideal. Couples took the queen size beds (bedrooms) while the kods took the two bedrooms with two twin soze beds each. The property feels very quaint and isolated even though it is very wasy to find it, even when driving at night. Overall I would definitely recommend this property to someone looking to get away in west Texas yet still have comforts of home.
