The Blue Topaz offers all the comforts of home. This great 400 sq.ft. unit comes equipped with new flooring, a newly remodeled kitchen with stone countertops, new cabinets and a new oven. There is a flat screen TV in the living room with a wide variety of channels for your viewing entertainment as well as free WIFI. There is a queen bed in the master bedroom and a pull out full size sofa sleeper in the living room. A table for 4 is available in the living room and the kitchen comes fully equipped with all the essentials, such as, utensils, plates, pots & pans, coffee maker, microwave etc. The Blue Topaz has a lovely private shared courtyard with a fresh, clean coin laundry room that also provides a locking storage area holding all your beach needs. Beach chairs, beach towels and beach umbrella are available for your use. Additional storage is available for your suitcases and any other personal property you would like to have secured during your stay. Walk out the front gate and you are next door to some of the best restaurants in town. The Cottage, Tapenade and Public House are just steps away. Stroll down to Prospect St and visit the many boutiques, art galleries and coffee houses. The Museum of Modern Art is a short walk away as is the La Jolla Recreation Centre. You will have your choice of some of the most wonderful beaches in Southern California. Walk down to the Cove beach and along the coast you can see the Seals catching some rays on the beach. A short drive or 20 minute walk to La Jolla Shores Beach and if you head south you can be at Marine St Beach and Windansea in less than 15 minutes strolling along the beach. If you decide to leave La Jolla, it is a short drive to The World Famous San Diego Zoo, Seaworld, Balboa Park, Seaport Village, The Gas Lamp, Petco Park and Legoland. The Blue Topaz really does have it all. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW: This is a NON-SMOKING home. This includes patio, and building common areas. This property is located among other units in a shared apartment property. Please respect your surrounding neighbors. Our rental agreement includes a no tolerance policy regarding excessive noise, occupancy and/or parties. Evictions are strictly enforced if at any time our guests choose to disregard this rule. This home is pet friendly. Pets are never to be left alone in the homes uncrated. If you plan on spending time away from your pets please find a doggy day care or crate your pet. You can call our office for recommendations or check the Welcome Book. This particular property has a 1 dog limit and the pet cannot exceed 20 lbs. This place is so cute and centrally located to the beach and restaurants and even a movie theater. We parked the rental car and didn’t use it the entire weekend. We got lots of steps in! The home was the perfect size for me and my spouse. The prop mgr responded quickly when I asked for early checkin. I recommend staying here for couples and if you like to be able to walk everywhere.

I liked my stay here. Very clean overall. , The bedroom was smallish but the bed was very comfortable. Closet had hangers, a dresser, and was perfect for a couple. The kitchen had everything and more. The living room is just big enough for a couple, with adequate furniture and a dining table. The bathroom was small and a bit tight( I’m a 200 pound male and the seat was a bit small for me). Close access to local eateries, the shops, and the beach was perfect!Minutes to it all!Some traffic noise at this location being close to the restaurants and apartments. Parking on Eads is the way to go to avoid a parking citation. Be aware of parking limits throughout La Jolla: they are enforced! I would stay here for sure if by myself again. Nothing more than a couple.

Surprisingly affordable - excellent location!
We stayed at Blue Topaz and it was wonderful. Amazing location and extremely walkable. All the amenities we ever needed. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. We did not hang out at the apt very long otherwise it would have maybe been nicer if we had more of a view. You have no real view - just a street at ground level. But when you're sleeping, that doesn't matter. We will definitely be back as it was very affordable and perfectly comfortable.

Was the quality I expected for the price of the rental.
This property is one of the cheaper house/condo rentals you can get in la jolla and it was the quality I expected for the price. There were a few problems: the bathroom had a leak coming from either from the shower or the toilet. I also wish the patio was in the sun and not in the back alley way, and it was quite loud in the mornings because it was right next to a breakfast restaurant that gets food shipped very early in the morning. If you are someone that likes to sleep in or are a light sleeper this would probably drive you crazy, but I am a morning person so it didn't bother me too much. Parking was difficult as I think it is all across San Diego, and some days we had to park several blocks down the street. If you are considering staying anywhere in la jolla and are renting a car it is worth it to get a parking spot even if you have to pay extra. That being said, the price of this rental condo was good and the house had all the amenities I needed: two tvs, fully stocked kitchen with a stove oven coffee maker toaster microwave and full sized fridge (only missing a dishwasher), and a washer and dryer. The pull out couch came in handy although I wouldn't say this property houses 4 people it really is for two people since there is only one queen sized bed. It is also a short walk to prospect street and the beach and close to tons of places to eat and shop. It is very close to the 30 bus line, if you are using public transit. The house rental company la jolla vacation rentals was also very professional, and sent me several emails and phone calls answering any of my questions and gave me all the information I needed to know before arriving at the condo rental. Overall it was a good stay, but I think I will try a different place with this house rental company when I visit la jolla next year.

Great Location!
This rental was perfect for what we needed for a weekend in La Jolla. The location is perfect, right next to plenty of restaurants, bars, bakeries, and a very short walk to the beach. The space was very comfortable for 2 adults, and also very clean. La Jolla Vacation Rentals offers excellent and speedy customer service and I would absolutely rent with them again!

Lack of Professionalism
BUYER BEWARE!
They are in the business to make money and not provide any verbal communication. Once they have your deposit and/or money they will only communicate by email.

We are locals and had a last minute need to move out based on some home renovations and unplanned new member to our family:) I reached out to them the day before to see about a week rental based on the timeline my contractor gave me. We signed the contract and moved in the next day.
The property was small but fit our needs at that point. BUT every morning there are delivery trucks or garbage trucks starting at 5a right outside the bedroom window. It would be nice to have some white noise or full disclosure on how noisy the property is.
On Monday morning, one day into our rental I spoke with the contractor and he was able to confirm that we would be able to move back in 2 days earlier. I immediately reached out by phone and email to see if La Jolla Vacation Rentals would work with us to leave 2 days early, 4 days away at this point. I asked for mercy based on the fact that we had a newborn and dog.......that we just wanted to be back in our own home. No phone response after repeated calls. I got an email stating, "Unfortunately we cannot adjust the dates as once you have booked we cannot accept any other booking and in fact, we had someone else who wanted your exact dates and turned them down." SERIOUSLY you had someone ask for the same last minute dates?? I find that hard to believe since we booked the evening before we moved in. I was hoping they would meet us in the middle or offer some sort of option. NOTHING! I then emailed them with their contract on putting it back on the market to see if it booked to get out of those 2 days. They said they could do that.........I had to follow up with them when it wasn't back on their website hours later.
I'm very disappointed with the lack of professionalism in this company. I hope the cost of 2 nights is worth the negative review!

Cute but very cramped
Great location if you are ok with walking. Cute but very cramped. Pictures make it seem slightly bigger than it really is. Not big enough for the price in my opinion. I'd probably stay in mission or pacific beach next time for the price I was paying and have something a little larger. Pull out couch was a little gross. I'd recommend an upgrade for the price. It was very hot also, it needs an air conditioner.

Perfect Perfect Location to Enjoy La Jolla!
We could not have asked for anything better. Steps from the ocean, and steps from downtown in the village of la Jolla - this apartment was perfect! The owners have provided everything you need for a lovely vacation - from laundry detergent to a beautifully outfitted kitchen. They even had a pack n play for our toddler! Everything was incredibly clean and check in could not have been easier. The one thing to note is that this apartment is directly above a lovely little restaurant called "Cody's" - it serves breakfast and lunch only - but that means a decent amount of background "noise" from about 5am when the delivery truck rolls in until after the lunch crowd. Did not bother us, but may be bothersome to some.

Fantastic!
The Cody House was everything that we were expecting and more! The location is unbeatable - a block to the ocean, a couple of blocks to the Cove and Children's Cove. We woke up early every morning and walked to the Shell Beach, collected sea shells, watched the seals, and went to breakfast. I could not be more happy with the number of restaurants, coffee shops and stores within just a couple of blocks of the Cody House. Although I was worried about parking, we always seemed to manage to find a parking spot within a block or less of the rental. I was also worried about restaurant noise and it was a non-issue the entire time we were there. With a pre-schooler and a 9-month old baby, this condo was absolutely perfect! We hope to come back again next year and would recommend The Cody House to anyone looking for a perfect location in the San Diego area.

La Jolla's best kept secret
This is a very spacious 2 bedroom with comfortable beds and everything you need for a relaxing stay. Roughly a block from the beach with an ocean view from every window, it is conveniently located to downtown La Jolla - within easy walking distance to restaurants, the beach, and shops. It was clean and nicely decorated and provided a homey feel unlike that of many timeshare places. One great advantage it is the only unit upstairs over a restaurant that closes in the afternoon so it is quiet almost always. The only drawback is it can be difficult at certain times to find parking nearby. Its proximity to the beach puts all spaces at a premium and consequently you sometimes must park a block or two away, although off street parking is arranged for you. This is a small problem compared to how nice the accomodations are.
It was very clean and up to date with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. the owner was attentive to your needs and concerns although we had none. It was within walking distance (8-10 minutes) from the La Jolla tennis courts and 2 minutes from La Jolla cove.

Great stay at a great place!
We stayed for our March spring break -- parents and three children 9, 7 and 4. The location is fabulous...in the heart of everything in La Jolla. We ate in -- taking advantage of the great kitchen, and walked to restaurants (The Spot, Cody's downstairs) and to the best candy store we've ever seen. The master bedroom mattress is comfortable, and the children slept in the guest room which had a bed and a small fold-out bed provided by the owners. The property was incredibly clean and new. I was worried about staying over a restaurant -- that the smells from the kitchen would drift up -- but this was not a problem. The only minor (and I mean minor) drawbacks were the loud music at the neighboring nightclub on weekend nights and the street parking during the day (despite the rental description, parking is not provided). These drawbacks were really minor compared to the value, location and views. We have already recommended it to friends going to San Diego later this year!

Highly recommend. The condo was perfect for our family, wich consits of myself, my wife and our 3-year-old son. Completely rennovated - kitchen and bath all granite; huge showers; vaulted ceilings, etc... The views from the windows are great. Right across the street from La Valencia. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better deal in La Jolla. We went to Von's and bought groceries for the week - cooked breakfast everyday except for the last day, when we ate at the Cody House - fantastic food. Michelle, the property manager, was great - quick to get back to us on any questions we had. Her daughter, who is CPR certified, babysat our 3-year-old son, when we needed a night out.

Gorgeous rental, gorgeous location
We loved the Cody House for our family vacation during the first week of March. The layout was nice (bedrooms on opposite ends), the bathrooms, decor, kitchen appliances, and front loader laundry, were all top notch. My husband and I travelled there with our two small children (4 and 2 years old) and Grama came along as well. They provided a pack-n-play, highchair and single fold out mattress our daughter used as her own "princess bed" in the guest room she shared with Grama. The master walk-in closet was actually large enough to put the pack-n-play in, and we made it into a bedroom for our youngest which worked out great!
The views to the ocean were nice, and we used the large park area daily for flying kites, relaxing, picnic lunches, as well as runs/walks along the oceanfront. We especially loved being able to walk to shops and restaurants with young kids, not the hastle of getting in a car each time. We ate at Jose's a few times, ordered pizza from Extreme Pizza, ate breakfast downstairs at Cody's and all were delicious! Of course we ate some meals at the rental and loved the updated kitchen, felt very gourmet!
We had no problems with parking (days are busier if you leave your spot), which we did for trips to Sea World and Coronado! We had no problems with customer service and would recommend the property to friends, even with a couple minor complaints....
Being only 5' tall, I had a problem seeing in the mirrors in both bathrooms as most things in the rental seemed geared towards a much taller person, but I was able to use the full-door sized mirrors on closets! The only other complaint was the late night music from a restaurant/bar next door to the guest room side of the property. Grama and our 4 year old were in there, and both slept soundly once asleep, but if you're a light sleeper, it's something to consider.
Even with these inconveniences, you'll notice I still give this property a rating of 5, and we would go back in a heartbeat! The pros of location, cleanliness, and price rate higher than the cons of high-placed mirrors/counters and nightlife music! My husband commented more than a few times on what a great pick I had found, and we couldn't have enjoyed it more!

Holiday week
This is a charming apartment above a restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch most days. It has a lot of extras, such as a working fireplace, luxury bathrooms, well-equipped kitchen, and Internet access. There is also a fabulous Thai restaurant next door. The broker is extremely friendly and will do her best to provide anything extra that you need, for example, an extra air mattress. We enjoyed our week very much.
