Located in Chalet Village, this attractive cabin for $373 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. "Bear Cave" is exactly where you need to stay for your Smoky Mountain Vacation. It's a large 4 bedroom and 3 bath cabin only minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. The views are excellent and you have the perfect view of the Gatlinburg Space Needle. You could watch the New Years firework show right from the deck! The kitchen is fully stocked to cook your favorite family meals. Game room is spacious with a pool table, pinball machine, arcade game, flat screen tv, and a mini bar. We chose the Bear Cave cabin for its size, amenities, and views of the Smokies as well as a great spot to see the night lights of Gatlinburg. Absolutely amazing views from the deck and didn't disappoint! We searched and searched for a cabin that we could watch 4th of July fireworks from. You get a great view of the Space Needle from the rear deck.
The inside of the cabin was clean and our family enjoyed our 2 night stay. We read all the reviews from various websites about this property so went there knowing it is a bit older and there is some wear inside . The pinball machine still doesn't work as commented about several times in other reviews and a few things are worn BUT the rest of the cabin and the views far outweigh the minor things that really were not of concern for us.
There appears to be some updates and care being done to this cabin. No-slip strips look recent on the log stairs inside. Its not a 5 star hotel- its a cabin in the mountains with a cozy feel and for us was a great place to stay! I highly recommend this property for anyone with a larger family that wants to enjoy amazing views yet feel away from it all.

The cabin is set in a beautiful part of the Smokey Mountains with a wonderful view of the sunrise. The cabin itself was nice however the advertised amenities were lacking. Specifically:
-Pinball machine did not work
-The 2 primary TVs (game room and kitchen) did not work
-The dart board was not functional because the wire to plug it in was missing.
-Pool table was very worn and had a rip in the felt.

Nice spacious cabin, the view from the back porch was really nice. Could use a good cleaning, fans and beams were dusty. Overall nice cabin that worked nice for our family of 9 vacation.

We enjoyed the cabin but there were a couple of things we wanted to share, the stairs from the top floor need slip strips on them like the stairs to the lower floor. We had a guest slip on the top step and fall to the bottom. She was very lucky and had no major injuries after her fall.
There is also a metal swing on the top floor deck with a dry rotted seat that was not visible at night. No one was injuries when it was used Friday night, but in the sun of Saturday morning we saw it was not a safe seat.
The last thing is the Christmas decorations were still up and I didn’t see that listed on the Vrbo site.
All that to say, we would rent this cabin again and we’re completely happy with our stay but felt the need to point out what could be safety hazards to others.

This home was very large, spacious and rooms very spread out to provide privacy for all. However the beds and furniture were very uncomfortable, neither fireplace worked and the gaming system in the game room was not charged for our children to be able to play it and chargers were no where to be found.

Was a beautiful view. They had what they call cable tv like 10 channels worked. We brought a Roku and couldn't hook it to the internet due to it being only 5g wifi and our Roku uses 2.4g. Very hard for kids to sleep without it. They say to lock your doors on the fridge and they aren't lying. We had a bear break into our car and leave paw prints everywhere. Heed their warning. Other than that was an awesome and clean place and the view like I said before was breathtaking!!

We just wanted a weekend to relax and get away. The view was wonderful. The home itself was nice. It would have be so much easier to have been able to enter on the main floor. And I really would have like it to have been cleaner. There was stuff on the cabinets, walls, and on the pool table. The furniture in the living room looked so dirty I was scared to sit in the chair. The leg on the kitchen table was broken, and the table too was all scratched up. There was wires hanging in several places, including outside. You make pretty good money in these homes, and they stay rented out. Invest a little back into it.

It was a nice cabin to rent with enough space and amenities! The mountain views were beautiful from the decks! Also, we had a couple different bears walking around the cabin so that was exciting to see! My only suggestion is that you have a strong vehicle to drive up the mountain.

Amazing views
The outside picture of the property is quite old. There was not a gas grill available however there is a stationary charcoal grill but can’t use it due to no burn advisory. Not a big deal, but if you were planning on grilling out, double check. The views were AMAZING!! At night you can see the lights of downtown area. We did have a bear visitors almost everyday! The roads are kinda scary so make sure you are in for the night before sundown. The house was big enough for 2 families with teenagers. The kids had their own space in the lower level which was nice because they stay up late! The upper (master) bedroom is hot! The tub in master when drains, leaks through the ceiling in lower bedroom. The neighbors aren’t too close so you feel like you are pretty secluded. Also i would say there’s probably enough room for only 3 vehicles to park. Would be really tight. We had a truck and suv and had just enough room. All in all the place was great to sit out on porch and stare at the mountains!

Only thing I would say needed help is the dryer took forever to dry. Towels needed a second time of drying. Other than that no complaints.

My group had 3 adults and 5 children with ages ranging from 18 months-4 years old. I would say this cabin wasn't the best choice for people with young children and a message I sent beforehand asking about baby gates and if they could be used at the stairs was unanswered. The outdoor balcony railing on the top floor was a bit loose; worrisome for a parent. Inside the cabin was pretty dated and both microwave machines did not work along with every single TV in the house. There were a million remotes and the TV's looked like smart TV's that could connect to Netflix, etc. but instructions should def. be provided. With all that being said there were many things that made up for these issues, most of all the AMAZING view. I can see why these owners don't feel the need to do more on the inside of the cabin because the outside is so breathtaking. The kids enjoyed the pool table, the Wii, and pretending to play the arcade games. I think this cabin has an amazing location but would probably be better for older kids or grownups only!

Had a great trip here and we were also visited by a bear coming right onto the porch a couple times. That gave us a thrill. He left when asked to leave. Might suggest a gate for the porches for added safety. The view of the mountains was incredible with town lit up below. Thanks!
