Situated in Des Moines, this attractive house for $169 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. This 1920's newly renovated home is a perfect stay for a family, or anyone looking for a peaceful stay in Des Moines! This Craftsman style bungalow has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a stocked kitchen, a great living space, & a cozy front porch. Enjoy the beauty of the home as well as the peacefulness of the urban farm located in both the side and backyard. We remolded the home in 2015 all while maintaining the historical integrity (original woodwork with wood floors throughout). The house features updated bathrooms, updated lighting, fresh paint throughout, a spruced up kitchen, as well as new drywall. The main level has 2 bedrooms (both with queen size beds), 1 bathroom, the kitchen, a dining area, a large family room, and a front porch. We finished the attic and made it into a master suite. The upstairs attic is spacious and has 2 full size beds as well as a crib, so it's also a great place for kids to sleep. The space is large and has a beautiful walk in closet as well as a bathroom. NOTE - The height of the ceiling in the attic is low in some areas. We have a queen size air mattress available (stored in the upstairs walk-in closet) for use. We have done our best to make the house child friendly. The house has toys, children's books, and games. In the upstairs closet, we have a high chair, Rock & Play, diaper changing pad, bumbo seat, infant bath tub, boppy pillow, and infant swing. Feel free to use these for your kids, and please store them back in the closet when you are finished. The backyard is fenced and has a table and chairs. There is also a charcoal grill for you to use.

Our immediate family stayed here in the middle of a very hot June, but the a/c kept it perfectly cool and comfortable. The house was very clean with comfortable linens. Two nice washers and dryers in the basement were very convenient for our big family in town for a week long cattle show. Unfortunately our schedule did not allow us to peruse the market, but we would love to if we are in town again because we read great reviews. Particularly helpful was the notebook with the recommendations for dining, drinks and activities in the area. Would definitely stay again and recommend as well.

My brothers family and I had a great stay at property. Plenty of room in convenient location. Was perfect with crib for baby. Brother already said if we’re coming back this is where they want to stay. Host was super responsive when I had difficulties finding location.

This is a charming little home with room for a larger family or several friends. We were in town for a quilt retreat with five ladies, and it was perfect for us.

We enjoyed the age of the home. It had so much character in it. They have made updates that aren’t shown in photos. Also, we were positively surprised by the bathroom in the upstairs area. Overall, it was a perfect place for us to come together.

Great place for four guys to play cards, golf, good restaurants nearby. Place was spotless and well kept! All the amenities were available and the owners were very helpful!

Everything was so great about this place! No complaints at all! We were in the area for a nieces wedding and it seemed like home away from home. Loved the urban garden visit too. Bought tomatoes, lettuce and salami for lunch. We will be back again someday!

This old house is great for a larger group. It was as advertised. The house has a lot of character and everything worked fine and was comfortable if you are looking for a model home with no flaws you may want to choose something else, but I thought it was a fun and unique experience staying on a working farm. Ownerr is very responsive to messages.
