About this house rental
Nestled in Elkins, this lovely house for $121 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. This home was built in 1920 and has an abundance of character ! Original hardwood floors. High ceilings. Convenient location to downtown businesses, dining, shopping, college and attractions. House will be vacant.The 2nd floor is for storage purposes only and no one is permitted to venture upstairs. Request for early check in will come with early checking fee of $30. I love pets. However, you must clean up after your pets. A vacuum cleaner is available 100% of the time during your stay. Heavily shedding pets need to be cleaned up after. Also, the upstairs is off limits. Please do not allow your pets to wonder upstairs. There arent many outlets in this house. Beware. No shoes in house. :) She is old with original hardwood floors. Lets preserve her! If I have to handle trash that has been left behind, there will be a $20 handling fee. Please BAG ALL trash and either take it with you or place in black trash can outside. Please bring clothing and accessories for unexpected weather such as rain coats, umbrellas, boots, gloves etc. A Roku is supplied for tv streaming entertainment. I do not have direct tv or dish network. Washer and dryer is available 100% of the time. However, Personal items located on the shelves in laundry room are not to be used. If you move items, please return them where they were originally placed so I do not have to have a scavenger hunt!

Great location, but the house didn’t have carbon monoxide or smoke detectors. No closet space for your hanging clothes. Just a couple of items that would make the home a little more comfortable. Overall we liked the house and enjoyed our stay. Nothing that was a deal breaker for us.

Very clean and nicely decorated single home on a quiet street with very friendly neighborhood cats:-) Ultra cozy bed with a nice pillow top mattress cover that I'm going to buy when I get home!

I return to Elkins every year....this was my 1st time staying in town. The property was just as advertised.....very comfortable and nicely appointed. The location is within easy distance to the college and downtown area. Hannah graciously put up with me getting locked out of the house and tripping the circuit breaker. The 2 items that i would have liked to have had avaiable were a outdoor grill and basic cable TV..... it presently has hundreds of Roku channels. I would not hesitate to return to this property again.

We absolutely loved staying here. Very cute house in a nice quiet neighborhood. The inside is clean and updated while retaining the early mid 20th century look. The beautiful back porch and fenced in yard was also great. Elkins is also a great mountain town that offers most amenities you would be looking for.

This early 19th century house is located on a quiet street in the heart of Elkins' historic center, in walking distance to the college, city park, and downtown. It has a beautiful, open arrangement of rooms with tasteful, welcoming decor. It was a lovely, comfortable and quiet stay.

The owner forgot to tell VRBO that she has a rented the house. Got there to find out there were people living there already. I had no other plans and no other place to stay. It was a nightmare.

I absolutely love, love, loved this house! The decor and layout were perfect for a weekend getaway. Comfortable bed and couch. Everything you would need away from home to feel relaxed and at ease!

The VRBO listing portrayed this property very accurately. Reservation and check-in process was a breeze, and it was easy to communicate with the owner. The property is a tastefully remodeled small house in a nice neighborhood of Elkins, WV. Plumbing, appliances, etc. all worked fine. It is about 2 blocks from the Elkins town park, Davis and Elkins College, and the US Forest Service office. The visitor center in downtown Elkins is 6 or 8 blocks away. We attended a concert there and could have walked easily, but we chose to drive to avoid crossing a busy street with our dog. The only thing we would change: the bedroom is divided from the living room only by a sheer curtain, and the door between the bedroom and the hall has been removed. This arrangement reduces privacy and could be a problem if your spouse snores or is on a different schedule. If we were remodeling the house, we would install a pocket door in the 6 foot wide passage between the bedroom and living room, and would reinstall the door to the hall. Even with this shortcoming, this is an excellent 5 star rental.

Cozy house
Had a great visit with my daughter in this cozy house with everything we needed to make meals for our stay. Also forgot to ask ahead of time about having my daughter's dogs visit with us. Hannah was very accommodating in last minute pet approval. Will definitely use this home again.

Perfect little getaway
The house is an excellent little one floor arrangement with a B&B feel and a historic flavor. The decor is eclectic and cozy and the arrangements, check-in and out were all a breeze and Hannah is a pleasure to deal with. You could do a lot worse than Hannah's place when staying in the Elkins area. We reccomend with five stars.

1920's Lovely Cream Brick Home

Once I booked the house and received great communication
with the owner, I felt like Vrbo was a good choice.
The home is tucked in a nice quiet neighborhood near Elkins/Davis College, convenient to shopping, college activities, and restaurants .
Beautiful one floor plan. Decor is slightly southwestern.
Lots of windows for sunshine, spacious, small fenced-in back yard for your pets.
Modern kitchen with all the conveniences.
Full size bed that actually was comfy, considering we have a queen size bed at home.
The second day of our trip we did sightseeing in towns of Davis, Canaan, and Thomasville . Wonderfull drive through the mountains of West Virginia.
I would highly recommend this venue.

Excellent Getaway in Elkins!
This is a wonderful, inviting home. It is charming with its original hardwood floors and so well laid out. The home is exquisitely decorated and well cared for. We loved the coziness and comfort!
The owner is very caring, checking to make sure we arrived safely and again to ensure we had no questions or problems. She made us feel like valued guests.
The house is situated near the Elkins City Park and D&E College. It is in a quiet neighborhood and a great area to take long walks. It’s just the perfect plan to relax and unwind.
We brought groceries and cooked many of our meals. Everything in the kitchen was right at our fingertips and easy to use.
We truly enjoyed our stay and plan on booking this again. It’s truly a great find! 💖 We highly recommend it - we just hope you don’t book it when we want to stay there next! 😉

Convenient to Davis and Elkins campus
I rented this property for a visit to see my daughter at Davis & Elkins. The property was conveniently located in a lovely neighborhood, very easy to get to and from campus. The house is adorable, clean, and very well equipped. My only complaint would be the lack of WiFi as my phone gets spotty reception at best in the area and I had a difficult time loading maps and calling. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Sweet little bungalow in a quaint neighborhood in Elkins. Beautiful old furniture throughout the house. Close to everything. Hannah, the proprietor, was lovely to work with. Only thing is Verizon Wireless is impossible to use without internet access so I wasn’t able to check directions or anything else. We pretty much knew our way around because this was our fifth trip to West Virginia in the past several years. I would definitely rebook for future visits.

Great hiking trip
Had a great time at this house, it was centrally located, easy walk to town, easy to get to hiking in the Monongahela Forest. Just wish there was a city map, or WiFi, as we couldn’t get a signal and were (mistakenly) relying on it to navigate.

Spacious and lovely
Great location. Loved the decor. Perfect for what we needed. The home was clean and smelled great. Felt very relaxing, was able to fall asleep the moment our heads hit the pillow. We would definitely recommend staying here.
