I gave Kathyrn's Joy 5 star because it was earned. The view, the convenience, the beach, the owner and Gerard the mgr are great.
The minute you open the door you will be looking out over beautiful Caribbean blue water 180 degrees. The condo is in a gated complex directly at the oceans edge. KJ offers everything you need or could want. The homey feel of a beachfront cottage, fully equipped kitchen, 2 comfortable king bedrooms with baths and a living room all oceanfront. Beaches one both sides of the condo are great for walking and swimming.
Convenience: you are within 2 miles of Christiansted and less than 2 miles from FoodTown. A 5 minute walk on the beautiful beach to The Palms where they offer full restaurant all day plus a full bar. Dining right on the beach. They also have night entertainment. We were able to see the Moko Jumbie group. Amazing skilled and talented stilt dancing group with a full narrated history of the art. Bring a good book you will find the sounds of the ocean, the stingray visits and the breezes on your lanai hard to leave.

Out stay was amazing the property was just as it was pictured. We live being among the local people. The local food was amazing. We would definitely visit again.

The condo and location were absolutely perfect for my husband and son for the week. We had everything we needed and more. The space was comfortable and clean and the host couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The directions to the condo provided were spot-on. We tried to use GPS at first and ended up being a bit frustrated, so just follow the written directions provided. Check-in was super easy and communication throughout our stay was great. This location is close to everything we wanted to do and we hope to make this our home-away-from-home when we visit as well and we're looking forward to another stay in the future!

We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the patio enjoying the sounds of the waves, the sunrise and view. Beds were very comfortable, some hot water issues and some appliances could use updating. Overall the house was clean, well decorated and enjoyable.

Great central location on the north shore. Wonderful breezes with Crashing waves. Couldn't have asked for a better place for our first visit to the island. We didn't spend much time there because we were out and about, but it was a perfect home base. Awesome communication from Joe.

Our first time in a condo just feet from the sea. Great location being close to Christiansted, and convenient parking with secure access to the complex. We had a great, comfortable stay, and even came upon a large turtle laying eggs just a block down the beach. Joe was very responsive to any questions.
Hope to return someday soon.

Pure Joy
We loved our stay at Kathryn’s Joy! The only problem we had was that we loved the back patio so much, we never wanted to leave! The location of this condo was perfect-10 minute drive to Christiansted. You can easily get anywhere within 10-30 minutes! The master bedroom was great to stay in. The entire place is adorable and really has everything you need. I continue to look at my pics from the back patio-stunning. It’s private and just perfect. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a marvelous time staying at Kathryn’s Joy. (KJ). KJ was in perfect location, we could be on west or east side of the island in no time. Beautiful views of the ocean from KJ. We would definitely want to come back to KJ!!

After getting a few groceries from the FoodMart, we used the kitchen which had everything we needed to make coffee, toast, and eggs for breakfast. The Palms was a very short 5 minute walk down the beach--we dined there for lunch and dinner a few times. And, they have music every night which was fun. We saw some fire dancers one night and did some latin dancing another night. There is a nice pool on site for relaxing. This property has two bedrooms and two bathrooms which worked perfectly for our two couples. The master bedroom had an air conditioner unit that worked well. The living room air conditioner didn't cool as well, but we ran the fans which helped. It was great having two bathrooms! The showers were very nice with plenty of warm water. We did the catamaran tour with Big Beard's which was a fun snorkel trip. We had a rental car, so were able to tour the town of Christiansted. Our favorite restaurants were Rum Runners (great mahi and drinks were awesome!) and also Hamilton's (an upscale restaurant with an amazing chef). We enjoyed St. Croix very much--perfect weather! And, the ocean sounds and views from this property are great!

Despite a few glitches, the property met our needs. It was comfortable, the kitchen small but adequate. It would have been nice if the main air conditioner worked, especially for the couple in the 2nd bedroom at nite as this bedroom is in the back of the condo and not accessible to the wind from the front of the condo. But definitely appreciated the use of Kathryn’s Joy. The owners were helpful as well. The pool was cool but clean and refreshing.

Beautiful view!
This is a lovely condo literally steps from the waterfront with a spectacular view. The patio is great for relaxing, but it was quite windy and wet out there most of the time. The breeze is great for keeping cool inside without using the A/C. The water here was too rough for snorkeling or swimming, but there are plenty of other beaches nearby to drive to for calmer water. It was very quiet and we felt very safe here. It was nice to have a grocery store and several restaurants nearby. Overall we had a great relaxing week and really enjoyed our time here.

Cruzan Princesse
The property was built in the 1960s and is well maintained. The highlight of the condo is its location directly facing and close to the ocean. The patio has lots of comfortable furniture to enjoy your island rum cocktails and watch the waves come in. We had a wonderful time and would go back in a heartbeat!

Great View & Quiet Neighborhood - NEEDS cleaned, maintenance & exterminator
I'll start with the positives- the VIEW IS INCREDIBLE. You can't get any closer & great views from the living room & master bedroom. The island is great - mountains & Beaches.
The locals are friendly too. Had to contact host & they were responsive but issues not corrected - broken window/screen, BUGS.
Negatives-
When we arrived after traveling all day the instructions given were not correct. The gate code to get into the complex was incorrect (another tenant let us in) & then there was no lock box on the condo as instructed. (Couldn't even find the condo due to construction & no numbers on unit) After 15 minutes the host did call me but it was 15 minutes of PURE fear that we had been scammed.
Then there was the tiny bugs that were crawling all over the kitchen counters (Not ants ) then I noticed them in the bathrooms, etc. They were everywhere. The host recommended using the spray under sink & said it was part of the island charm. I spoke to a neighbor & they said they didn't have these bugs (I showed them picture) & they said an exterminator needed to be called. (So we put everything in the frig so we didn't have bugs getting into the food) We took extra precaution when we came home so we didn't bring them home.
The floors needed a GOOD vacuum. There was hair, dirt, etc
Then there was the broken window & screen in bathroom. It was facing the walkway so anyone could peep in while you were taking a shower. AND anything could crawl in the window. The broken window also let in the heat so it was hard to keep the unit cooled down (they had 2 floor units to keep condo cool not a regular air conditioner).
Also during the day they were working on adjoining condo so it would be noisy (Saw in another review it's been going on since July)
I loved St Croix island & tried to not let the disappointed of the condo ruin our trip. AGAIN the view & the patio were my favorite but the feeling of bugs & dirty floors really were upsetting.
We'll be back to US Virgin Islands but not to this condo. We've always had AMAZING luck with VRBO's but this was definitely the most disappointing.

Amazing location and view!
We absolutely loved Joe and Mitchi's home! The location was perfect - right on the ocean for beautiful sunrises, views, and relaxing waves. We walked to the Palms restaurant for dinner, shows and music - don't miss the Wednesday night fire dancers and Moko Jumbies! Everything was a short drive from this location - perfect! We had an amazing week and would definitely stay here again - we will be back! Thanks, Joe and Mitchi!

Nice Condo with Great Views!
This condo is well appointed with lovely decor and central location. The baths are updated and well done! The views are spectacular and the pool area was pristine with beach access. The property manager and host were responsive and accessible. Unfortunately, there was some property maintenance in process during our visit which was quite noisy and made relaxing at the condo during the day unattainable. In addition, there was a rain storm during our stay which caused a small flooding issue in the living area of the unit. Overall, this is a lovely, recently updated, comfortable condo with quality finishes that I would recommend to others once the building repairs are completed. Many thanks to the owner and property manager for their prompt attention to the issues we encountered during our stay. We LOVE St. Croix!

This is right on the water! We found everything to be as expected. It was even more beautiful in person! Parking is tight in a jeep, but we figured out if you back into the assigned parking spot it is much easier than backing out to leave. Neighbors were quiet and rarely seen. Due to the time of the year, the only 2-3 weeks that the current brings seaweed and sand to replenish the shore on a current from Africa, the wind and waves were loud and forceful most days. We were still able to enjoy the views from both inside and outside on the patio. We utilized the pool most nights, which is surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs and beautiful, tall palm trees. There was an active turtles nest at the condo's beach! although we couldn't tell where it was. There were a few ants on kitchen counter and bathroom, which was a minor issue. We just kept food sealed, and on the opposite counter or in the refrigerator. kitchen has an eclectic supply of everything we needed to cook, portable air conditioners and isolating fans kept the unit cool and we slept well. We had the wrong gate code, and weren't sure which door was the one to our condo when we arrived The owner and property manager were fairly quick to respond. We actually got the code from another resident to enter the complex. We would stay here again. It is a lovely place to relax.

We had an amazing time on the island! Definitely recommend vacationing here. We snorkeled all week at various beaches, hiked to the lighthouse on Hams Bluff, spent time at Rainbow beach and Cane Bay and enjoyed a snorkeling adventure with Big Beard.
This condo was just what we needed. It was clean and the perfect place to rest our bodies at night while we geared up for the next adventure the following day. Joe was a fabulous host! Very responsive to questions. He has beach towels for use which was extremely helpful and important…they weigh a ton when you try to pack them in luggage to fly! He had beach chairs available for use as well as a cooler. The kitchen was stocked with the basics for cooking. The complex was quiet at night and we enjoyed every evening on the patio overlooking the ocean as well as every morning drinking our coffee. The air conditioning units were helpful as well, we enjoy a little cooler air while sleeping.
Overall we hope to visit the island again and would definitely stay here again!
