About this cabin rental
Nestled in Upper Saranac Lake, this charming cabin for $355 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Bear cabin has 2 Queen bedrooms a full bathroom and a Queen sleeper sofa in the living room. This cabin can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children maximum. The sleeper sofa can accommodate less than 120 pounds for sleeping purposes. Please do not book this cabin if your group exceeds our capacity. Bear's fully stocked kitchen includes spices, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, a crock pot, microwave, tea pot, toaster, blender, gas stove, an ice maker in the freezer and a dishwasher as well drip coffee and Keurig coffee machines. The dining area seats 6. Towels and linens are provided. Bear cabin is heated by a gas fireplace and also has ductless air conditioning and heat. Bear cabin has a Smart TV and all of the comforts and amenities of home provided in Adirondack decor. Bear cabin is directly on Lake Colby and has its own charcoal grill, picnic table and Fire pit outside. Each of the 4 cabins on the property are approximately 25 feet from the next with trees separating them. Guests can enjoy our private beach and dock and use any of our seven boats to partake in fishing or just enjoy the beautiful lake. This cabin is a two minute walk to the public beach and a one minute drive to the public boat launch. Mt. Pisgah is a 2 minute drive where one can ski, snowboard and tube. Whiteface is a 45 minute drive. Titus mountain is a 45 minute drive. During boating season, guests can enjoy our private beach and dock and use any of our 9 boats: 2 row boats, 3 canoes, 3 full size kayaks and a child size kayak. Lake Colby is known for it's excellent fishing of : rainbow and brown trout, salmon, largemouth and smallmouth bass. Maximum 10 hp motors can be used on this lake. Boating is available on our property between May1st and October 31st unless water temperatures are unsafe. Lake Colby is part of the greater Saranac Lake Community which offers many tourist attractions, including hiking, snow skiing, zip lines, golf and amazing food. This cabin is also a two minute walk to the public beach and a one minute drive to the boat launch. The Village of Saranac Lake boasts wonderful Eateries, Pubs and Coffee Shops. Colby Cabins are a 2 minute drive from Mt. Pisgah where the whole family can enjoy downhill skiing, tubing and snow boarding on lit trails. Saranac Lake is surrounded by some of the most scenic hiking trails on the East Coast. Let us know if you wish to book one, two or three or four cabins. Check-in and Check-out are not allowed on Saturdays from the third week of June to the first week of September. The internet speed is 300 mbs download, 20 mbs upload. Cameras are used outside the property for security purposes. There are no cameras inside the premises.

We loved the Bear Cabin and the extensive bear theming that made it feel special. Great location within longer walking distance to the town. Was easy to get the available boats on the water and great lake views!

We generally were happy with our stay at bear cabin. The owner was very responsive to any and all items that came up. General cleanliness was a bit low in our opinion, but given the setting and beautiful lake view from the picture window we were able to overlook that. We did need to cut our visit short for personal reasons, but would rent at the location again. Proximity to the lake cannot be beat/ boats available to use and an abundance of fish to keep the kids and well myself busy even with sub par weather.
The local community was great offering advice on tackle and things to do. Seems like the town of saranac is going through some improvements, lots of construction making parking difficult, but the addition of a rail trail will make this an even better location to visit in the future.

Owners very responsive. Views were fantastic. Kitchen is well stocked. Can't get much closer to the water. Had an issue with the fireplace and the owners responded immediately. Thank you!

Overall, a bit shabby.The beds were uncomfortable, the blinds did not work, and although we paid a clean up fee we were asked to strip the beds, bag up linen and towels, and bag up all the trash. What is the clean up fee for?

We relaxed by the lake, took some great hikes and ate some amazing food at the local restaurants.

Scenery and view to the lake and location to town groceries restaurant and Lake placid.
Just know that the driveway down to cabin
you need a 4 well drive or a good SUV . We enjoyed our stay and loved the coszy cabin.

Bear Cabin
Our stay at Bear Cabin was great. It was cozy and clean. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and the location was close to the town of Saranac Lake as well as Lake Placid area.

Overall this was an amazing home away from home. The weather was below freezing all 3 nights of our stay, but the gas fireplace kept it cozy. The only negative aspect was how cold the floors were, but the wool socks were a great barrier. Owners did say that they would be putting in area rugs to help with the cold. Owners were quick to respond to questions and concerns, and very responsive to our very few needs. We would book this place in a heartbeat, should we be looking for a place to stay in the Saranac Lake area.

Overall this was an amazing home away from home. The weather was below freezing all 3 nights of our stay, but the gas fireplace kept it cozy. Owners were quick to respond to questions and concerns, and very responsive to our very few needs. We would book this place in a heartbeat, should we be looking for a place to stay in the Saranac Lake area.

Thanksgiving Getaway
My wife and I stayed at the Bear cabin along with our dog. We had a great time, the cabin was well appointed, clean and very comfortable. We had absolutely no issues but during the rental process Huda was quick to respond to my questions. We would absolutely stay again if we were to visit Saranac Lake again!

Cabins were well stocked w necessities and we appreciated the basket.
Communication with owner was excellent.

The firewood must have been wet because we couldn’t get much of it to light and what we were able to light smoked like crazy.
The grills were in bad need of cleaning.
We had very few garbage bags and the pullout for the garbage cans in Bear cottage would only pull out halfway, making it very difficult to access the recycle bin.
Suggestion-a bit more clear and thorough set of instructions for operating the A/C - heating units would have been appreciated. Took us a couple of days to figure it out.
Overall, we had a great time, were impressed w the amenities and hope to return in the future.
Our grandchildren said - “ It was their best vacation ever.”

This cabin was absolutely beautiful! So clean, quiet and the location was perfect!. We really enjoyed the lake as well. Great views and the sunsets were amazing!! All around our stay was so relaxing which is what we all needed! We definitely will come back again!!

Perfect cabin and beautiful lake!
We stayed for a long weekend before kids went back to school. We brought our dog and everyone had a blast! Beautiful cabin on the lake. Everything you need for a relaxing stay! We fished the lake with provided boats, grilled on a charcoal grill (loved that it was charcoal) really brought back memories of my childhood! We treated it as a device free weekend and really connected with our kids! So worth it!! We will be back.

No need to grocery shop prior to travel, the town grocery store TOPS was clean and has everything you need as well as very friendly service. The owner Huda was very responsive and friendly! We will definitely return as a couple and are entertaining the idea of returning with extended family as there are a total of 4 cabins on property and could see us all enjoying time together during the day yet having our own space to relax and regroup.

And the cabin is located very near to Lake Placid which we love! We did find the cabin’s bedrooms to be very dark. And the lamp in the second bedroom on the right needs to be repaired - it constantly flickered. Since we used the closet light to get by, we didn’t want to bother the owner. We were there for only three nights. On one of those nights we had neighbors in an adjacent cabin who were pretty loud. Not so much we needed to call the police, but loud enough to lessen our enjoyment of our cabin when we wanted to read by the fire. In terms of the listing, the rooms were shown as large bright rooms. That was definitely not the case.We were hoping the cabin was a little remote. When we sat outside to enjoy the lake, we could hear the traffic on Rte 86.

Very nice property and view of the lake.
Modern rustic designed cabin! Very cute property and views from the cabin. There was many places to hike nearby as well. The floors of the cabin were a little sticky and dirty but overall it was pretty clean. Had proper utensils and pots to cook with too. Would stay again.
