Quiet, remote, but OLD, tired and NOT worth the money

Location was definitely quiet and out of the hustle and bustle of the city. There were amazing toys for our kids and stuffed animals, we didn’t need to break out any of the toys we brought along. The farm was a little bit of a walk away and ended of glad for that as the pigs really stink. Staff was super nice.

It’s a very very tired accommodation!!! We were not aware that we would be in the top floor and there was no elevator for all our luggage and stroller for a family of 5. That was very difficult. Wifi was pretty bad also, maybe one for it two most of the time. I was seriously afraid we would fall through the bathroom floor, it was so soft. We’re a family of 5 so I am really sure we bothered the neighbors downstairs because the floors were so old and thin. The cold water faucet didn’t work in the bathroom so we couldn’t use the sink because the water was too hot. We also didn’t know that we couldn’t park next to our residence, and it was quite a walk with three small kids in the pouring rain to get to the car when we were trying to get to the Nemo museum. That was not fun at all. And it was quite ironic that an organic, grow your own food, vegan community family farm that strongly forbids any sort of cannabis but yet allows smoking cigarettes everywhere…. So when the guys downstairs were smoking that wonderful poison wafted up into our accommodation for our children to inhale.

Peaceful and charming

A quiet and peaceful place; like a piece of paradise on earth. Isolated from the bustle of the city but only a few minutes by bike from the ferry that takes you to the city centre. Charming and welcoming hosts that have a lot to tell and some pretty good insiders if you ask them. The apartment is clean, spacious and well equipped. The beds are very comfortable. It'll only exist for the next few years, so book now or you'll miss out!

Enjoyed Nature and community

the property owners were really accommodating and friendly. Showed us around and explained transportation ways and around. Requests for extras were provided right away. The place is great for a relaxing and peaceful getaway.

Extremely nice hosts who put a lot of effort into designing this very beautiful place and enabling their guests to have a really comfortable and perfect stay. Was a wonderful holiday in the middle of the self-designed nature with many animals and easy connection to the city, would come back anytime!

lovely stay thoroughly enjoyed the city

lovely quiet location, overall comfortable. the pof restaurant 5 mins away is absolutely fantastic

A little far to travel from. not much space for the whole family to sit and watch tv etc. however was v comfortable for 5 of us

Brilliant. Fab base to explore Amsterdam from.

Perfect for our family of 6 as we all had comfortable beds and rooms and we could self-cater to save money. Very interesting location with lots of organic little businesses on site. Also amazingly quiet (due to big barrier) considering it was so close to a busy road. Great for kids. Very easy to get into town - short walk, number 35 bus, one metro stop to Centraal Station - kids enjoyed this daily journey! Friendly and helpful hosts.

Outstanding value for money in a quiet and peaceful location

the flat at the lodge was extremely convenient, spacious and extremely well equipped. What made our stay outstanding was the extreme kindness of the owners. They made us feel welcome, gave us nice tips and tricks to visit the city, and they went above and beyond with helping us with a little problem we had with our car.

the location requires a transport of your own because even Uber is quite tricky to get.

Super chilled Area, we loved the Farm Character and the free walking Chickens as well, the Hosts were suuuuuper relaxed and friendly, very easy to rent a Bike, really no City Character at this place, describe with one word "Magical"

Pleasant

It is really very big and spacefull apartment. Good place - close to free of charge ferry to the town (accesible by bike or by car with quite cheap daily parking close to ferry). As well it is good starting position for trips to nice places like Volendam, Zaanse Schans, etc.

But generally I was strongly disappointed by this accommodation. Yes, it is really very big and spacefull apartment. But with so small and bad equipped kitchen and small and unventilated (so still wet) bathroom with leaking shower box (I can´t imagine how much water would be on the floor after 6 guests) and sink which does not drain so water stays in the sink. As well there were the cheapest and terribly uncomfortable mattresses, or "wannabe" funny or ecological(?) bedside tables from old suitcases but you can´t use them as nothing stands on this and falls down, etc. Some kitchen details are as well surprising. Like for example small fridge and even without any freezer(!). How this size would be enough for 6 people? No idea ... Last but not least was the parking. After arrival I recognized that it is not allowed park inside on the fenced farm lot and you should use public parking in front of the gate. And second sentence was: "Do not leave anything inside of the car, because they would broke the windows to steal it." So you stay in huge fenced lot, but your car is in danger and you can just hope that you will be able to continue next day in your trip ...

Exceptional

Wonderfully spacious apartment, well equipped and perfect for a family with children/toddlers. The mattresses are really good (we're the type that gets backaches from lousy beds). The kitchen is great (gas stove, hurray!). The lodge is surrounded by green with lots of places for kids to roam freely, play and explore. Albeit right next to the motorway it's very quiet; this also makes it very convenient for traveling anywhere by car. The hotel is run by lovely, welcoming people. The location is great as you can reach the centre of Amsterdam quickly, great beaches are only 30 minutes by car. We hope to book again soon!

Comfortable, relaxing and fun.

Everything about our stay was perfect. The grounds were very relaxing in a beautiful part of Amsterdam. Roger and his wife were super hospitable and gave us all the info we needed and more, even drawing locations on maps for us to explore (which we would never have found without local knowledge). The accommodation itself was very comfortable and nicely done, we didn't want for anything. I would definitely stay again :)

If we could have hired bikes on the site that would have made things a little easier for us, but they were all hired out by the time we arrived, which couldn't be helped. Roger gave us other options of where to rent bikes nearby.
