Onsen was small but felt great. Pillow choice was nice. All the free stuff (popsicles, herb tea, soft drinks, and even alcohol) was surprising in a good way.
Room is very tight; no space to open a suitcase.

Breakfast good. Friendly staff. Good shopping arcades and restaurants close by. Near art museum and Ritsurin Garden
Hard to find. Location finder took us to the Super Hotel Takamatsu not Kin en Kan. A long way from station and wharf.

A classic Japanese chain hotel with established corporate standards in all cities where it operates. The staff is excellent – they'll help you with everything you need to know. Easy check-in/check-out. Good breakfast. A fairly comfortable bed and even a cozy small onsen. If you don't plan to spend much time at the hotel, this is a good choice for exploring the city.
The rooms are way too compact. They're probably the smallest I've ever stayed in during my entire trips to Japan. If you're a big person, you won't be very comfortable. We're lucky – we're petite. LOL
