all went well
dated rooms

The communal areas of the building were beautiful, the grounds were stunning. The massage treatment rooms and staff were incredible.
The rooms are tired and dated, ours had mismatched wallpaper and tiles where it had been "fixed". The main door didn't shut properly and had to be coaxed to close.
We went for breakfast at 9.30, but weren't served breakfast until after 10.20, along with numerous other guests. Even then it was cold.
We went to use the pool and was told "You have half an hour, we are closing." So we rushed to be out by 4pm, when we we went to return the locker key the staff member said "oh we are staying open now, you can stay longer".
It felt a lot like staff just didn't want the hassle of guests being around.

Hotel is set in lovely gardens. Staff are friendly. Room good size and clean. Breakfast lovely.
Hotel needs a refurb especially carpet areas as they are worn and some trip hazards. I really like this Hotel though even for its negatives, its homely and has a nice feel to it

Our room was good. Decent bathroom, comfy beds. The food we had was delicious and a special mention for the staff, especially reception, who went above and beyond to help us with any information or extra pillows, towels etc. Great breakfast with plenty choices.
There was no bedside table at my side of the bed, only a minor thing but always helpful when charging phone, for a glass of water etc.

Bed super cosy. Terrace . Diversity of sitting places for socializing. Decor in the hall. Very cosy bar, very nice restaurant . Nice swimming pool and 2 jacuzzis.
The green grass .
TV no signal. Glenmorangie whisky 🥃 was on the drink list but not available.

The hotel is in an excellent situation, and is well served by public transport to the town centre, and the reception lounge with its stained glass and leather couches remind you off hotels in there hey day of good surroundings. There is a history of the hotel on request, staff are helpful and attentive to your needs. Dinner is a varied menu but i chose the sweetcorn risotto
which was excellent in flavour. breakfast was part self service and cooked with again a varied choice.
Swimming and Spa sessions are available on request.
There were plenty of stairs going to your room and no lifts in the new extension, and the room signs can be confusing but once you use the pictures on the wall navigation can be easier.

The staff were lovely, and the bed was very comfy. They didn't get disturbed, which was peaceful
I'm very disappointed to have to say that our room was very dirty and the bathroom I have pictures and to be fair it wasn't excepable it was very dirty which is really shocking considering covid ect the bathroom hadn't even been wiped down nor the tables that people put there food ect on the kettle was mouldy and the toilet brush was rushed like it was there since the hotel first opened I mean they cost a pound or 2 that's disgusting how much germs
I emailed the hotel to complain and 4 days still not a reply or even apology

The building the breakfast. The facilities
No body on main desk most the time. No security. We was sat in the landing as a family relaxing and there was some men sat in the lounge sniffing cocaine of the table in front of my 11 year old girl and no staff did anything about it. And they was swearing talking to there drug dealers for more cokaine due to this we probably wouldn't come back to your hotel

The facilities were good having a sauna, jacuzzi and pool.
The room key wouldn't always open the door for room 154.
The bathroom could of been cleaned better
Breakfast was OK but like I think the food had been sitting there a while. Bacon wasn't fresh nor were the sausages.

Had a nice stay but was disappointed with the standard of the hotel on this visit, we come quite regular but this is our second stay with disappointment sadly! Room was yet again not replenished with beverage items, bins not emptied or towels changed, even though asked the receptionist offered this service on check in and said she was making notes on the pc for this. Hotel was not a clean environment, white door at the top of the stairs was dirty, black and sticky and needed a good wash especially with covid still about! Our room was in a poor state. Main door didn’t closed unless we slammed it, along with all other rooms on our landing, very noisy. Bathroom shower curtain dirty, no toilet roll holder as broken, no sanitary bags, door had s hole in, no pillow protection cases and the ones on were inside out, main door stopper broken and hanging off, fire detector hanging off ceiling, walls dirty and paint peeling off, only 2 sockets as others were blanked off, window did not close, lamp shades covered in dust, skirting boards thick of dust, alarm clock didn’t work as socket behind bed for it was broken and coming apart! Broken glass all over the steps and road outside the health suite. Cobwebs above toaster in restaurant were terrible!!!! Such a shame, it seems to be going down hill but we love the location for visiting relatives.

Location was ideal and the room was ok
No WiFi in the room. It's 2023. WIFi is a necessity not a luxury..........i had to go to reception in order to access the internet to be able to work, and when the room to which i was allocated was perhaps the furthest room from the public areas this was most inconvenient.
Also, the TV was 'stubborn'........didnt seem to want to turn on. Batteries in remote were probably spent....reported to reception.
Didnt like the app to report issues. ACtually calling reception ended in a 2 hours wait for a response. I missed t as was in the shower....
