Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Hotel hat irgendwie Charme. Es gibt einen alten Lift von früher, der noch sehr gut funktioniert. Die Betten sind bequem, dass war mir wichtig.

Die Badezimmertür hat nicht richtig geschlossen, nur mit Gewalt und es ist etwas hellhörig. Schade, dass wir nicht auf die Dachterrasse konnten.

Spacious clean family room. A really treat to also have our room cleaned after our first nights stay. Great location, next to the Freddy Mercury Statue and a bus stop right at the door of the hotel.

If you pride yourself on warm and good service give this hotel a miss. Cold reception on arrival and at check- out it was exactly the same. When I got to the counter to let them know I was checking out, all I was told was the amount I need to pay for the city taxes. No 'good morning' , no ' how was your stay ', no 'thank you'- absolutely nothing! After just experiencing exceptional service in Lucerne, this cold impersonal service from the start to the end of our stay was very disappointing especially considering this was the leg of our 6 week overseas holiday.

Location and the size of the room!

As the building is quite old, it smelled a bit oldish in the halls. Regarding the breakfast - we missed the variety. Other than that, everything was super fresh.

A traditional 1860 hotel, really central, with that Agatha Christie feel. Hassle-free stay and towel change was a plus.

Our room had a moquette, while some of the others had a hardwood floor. Would have preferred it, but that's a personal choice.

Overall terrible experience and simply unbelievable for Swiss standards. Stay away from this hotel if you are looking for a nice and relaxed holiday! - rooms/facilities: the lobby looks good and even gives a cozy, traditional vibe. As soon as you ascend to the upper floors however, everything is extremely old, shabby and not maintained at all. The first room we checked into was shockingly disappointing for Swiss standards - last renovation probably took place in the 1960s! The sink was behind the room door, not even in the bathroom; the bathroom was utterly disgusting with a very, very worn out bathtub, paint falling off the walls / finish falling off the tiles and mold in the corners; the carpet had stains all over; and there was NO aircon, just a very dusty fan which wasn’t even working. None of the pictures on the web resemble the reality! After serious and continuous complaints we were moved to another room on day 2, which also had no aircon but at least looked more like the pictures. Apparently some rooms are renovated, the rest is still untouched and only some superior double rooms have AC - still absolutely shocking and incomprehensible given the location (very hot in summer), price/night and general Swiss standard overall - staff: it seemed that the staff is very used to getting complaints from guests. their first reaction was very rude and unprofessional - along the lines of „we have no ac in this hotel and you’re lucky it hasn’t been very hot in the past days, because it’s usually 40degrees in the rooms“. in the end they managed to move part of our group of 4 to a renovated room but left a pregnant lady in an old room with no cooling.
