Loved the location but did not feel value for money

Thought the location in the forest was lovely & building was very pleasant.

Disappointed there was no cooked breakfast, room & some of property looked tired. Bathroom sink had issues as taps were not working correctly, getting stuck so no water coming out.

Good stay, but its a little tired with no facilities which is a shame considering its location.

Had a family room which was very spacious. The location is amazing, right in the New Forest, and on the edge of Burley.

There are no facilities at the hotel, so was very disappointed not to be able to get an evening drink. The room was clean, but quite tired. Was very disappointed that breakfast was an additional charge.

Good

Location was ideal for a family event and was dog-friendly.

Room was very hot and it was a bit awkward staying on the top floor with two dogs - we'd ask for a ground floor room next time.

Very disappointed will not stay again as no facilities to offer and do not get what you pay for

Situation was excellent beautiful surroundings very relaxing garden

Staff never around, bar not open as told by reception staff member that due to staff shortages bar never open. Breakfast facilities NIL again told only continental due to no staff. Booked a room with Garden view to be put on 1st floor room with view of dirty rooftop and rear no view back of hotel and very, very dated desperate need of modernisation.

Beautiful grounds and surrounding area.

Room very bacis,dust on picture rail and picture. The room was deluxe but to be honest I couldn't see any different from a normal room.

A comfortable room in a lovely quiet location ideal for exploration of the New Forest.

Lovely location, comfortable room, and nice and quiet, yet within walking distance of the village centre facilities.

Disappointing space despite wonderful location.

Breakfast had to be paid for on arrival and was not part of the original booking. The location was super. The ex hotel (now b and b) was tired understaffed, not clean and in need of major refurbishment.

Unclean bathroom lack of shelf space unemptied bathroom bin durex left in bedside drawer tired outdated furnishing lack of staff no reply when phoning reception.

Pleasant

It was very different from our last experiance which was cheaper the pool was open and they had bar facilities and you had a cooked breakfast option. Charging customers £35 for cereals and toast was extremely over priced we had to ask for milk orange juice bread and plates as all had run out when we went down at 8.30am. It was such a shame as our last experiance had been so good hense why we booked the same hotel again. The location is fantastic and we had a great break away but i wouldnt recommend this hotel again unfortunately. We didn't see any staff at all apart from booking in and checking out abd when buzzing for them to re stock the breakfast items. The new member of staff who had just started and in her first week was lovely but it's a shame I'd love to see it get back to its previous glory.

Lovely location, quiet and peaceful and lovely surroundings. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The breakfast was good. A cooked breakfast option would of been good though.

No bar area. A lounge bar area would of been nice .

Superb

Location was lovely backing onto the forest only a short stroll to the village, Queens head pub lovely food doggy friendly lovely coffee house at the far end of the village, friendly staff, good coffee dog friendly. Staff in hotel friendly and helpful.

Not as shown on website, eerie feel, not pleasant or comfortable environment

Loved that it was nestled away in the forest

It didn’t look like anything in the photos online, was a similar price to another hotel in the area we stayed the experiences weren’t comparable. The property was pretty much empty apart from us and seemed to have just one member of staff. It was eerily quiet and had a very odd feel. Clearly hadn’t been renovated in quite a long time.

Quiet, relaxing & friendly staff.

Location was amazing. We travelled with our dog and they were very facilitating and friendly. Nice sized room.

Wi-Fi wasn’t working and phone signal is very limited (not blaming the hotel!) but TV also doesn’t give the option of plugging in laptop through HDMI, so left with basic TV channels. Lock on door made an alarm sound while door opened/shut.

Decent value for money with a clean and comfortable room, but lacking in atmosphere

Admittedly it was midweek in early October but the place appeared deserted. Nobody behind the bar at any time we were there. WiFi did not reach our room

Nice location but not great for sleep!

The location was great!

You could hear everything in the rooms and we had some very loud and rude people up all night in the room next door to us. We barely slept. Would be good if the hotel had a ‘no noise after 10pm’ policy that was actually reinforced.

fairly comfortable one night stay and good breakfast while working in the area.

The staff were lovely and breakfast was good.

The bathroom was very smelly and the tiles had something stuck to it?? Very noisy from people coming and going up and down the stairs, opening and closing the door. very difficult to find the venue in the dark when unsure of the area, perhaps better signage at the top of the road?

Set in the heart of the New Forest. Very tranquil location. However because they weren't offering an English breakfast and evening meal we had to walk down a long dark drive to get to the village of Burley. Fine during the day but not at night..

The hotel were not offering a cooked breakfast or evening menu so we had to walk in the dark to the village. Also the bed wasn't comfortable as it sunk in the middle.

lovely location, shame there was a lack of food served

the location was lovely, loved both conservatory over looking the garden onto the forest. shame it wasn’t nice enough to sit outside.

lack of cooked breakfast and no evening food, if you just wanted a relaxing evening and don’t want to go out. considering you couldn’t get a takeaway delivered, because it’s to far away.

In the middle of forest!

very central located in the forest at Burley

One of our ladies in group was in outer part of building and smelt of damp as soon as we walked through and room was very dirty, as we got there late she stayed in room first night but changed rooms on the 2nd night.staff we’re really nice on reception. But the hotel room we were in was passable for 2 nights.

Lovely location and good for a short stay

Lovely location, good size room and all facilities needed in room. Nice to have room cleaned on second day even though was only staying 2 nights. Very friendly staff upon arrival. Good price compared to other hotels in the same location, and ideal if you're just looking for somewhere at a decent price and just needing a room to sleep.

Building was a little rundown. Curtain hanging off part of railing, water didn't drain from sink and when sat on the sofa bed a slat broke (because 2 were already missing). Drive/road up to house really needs the potholes filling in! Was happy with the price paid however would say the building & rooms don't quite live up to the photos.

Just a two night stay, walks in the New Forest each day made the stay extremely enjoyable.

The Hotel is situated in a superb area being able to walk out of the back of the property onto the New Forest. All of the space and tranquillity you could want. Walking distance to the village which has 3 pubs at which to eat.

The hotel is still struggling for staff and so no cooked breakfast was available, also breakfast not in the cost of the room.
