We were able to get into the room before the official check-in, but only because we were lucky to run into some staff at the facility. It was good to have an ensuite bathroom.

There were school kids staying in our hallway and they kept running around and knocked on our door in the morning. We didn't know how to access the kitchen. It would have been nice to be told what the code to the kitchen was when we checked in. My friend was lucky enough to run into some staff who told her, but we met other people later who also didn't know how to open the kitchen door.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

DO NOT BOOK I booked this place as i had an important meeting the next day in Sonderborg. Safe to say i didnt get any sleep as the radiator in my room was making constant, loud beating noise throughout the whole night up until the morning. There was no staff to address this issue with nor during the night, or in the morning, as there was no one in the reception.(even though they claim that the place is staffed from 8AM) My shower floor was filthy and the shower head was sprinkling everywhere around the bathroom, leading to it flooding in the main room. Could not use their iron or hairdryer, again, because there was no one to borrow it from. No breakfast, even tho during booking it is mentioned the possibility of getting breakfast for an extra charge. Not only that, the breakfast area was closed. My booking was for a double or twin room, I ended staying in a 4 beds room. Have not been lucky enough to see any staff members during my stay. I emailed the property directly in order to ask for a refund and give them detailed feedback on my stay. Was not important enough to even get an apology email back and was left with no answer.

Very passable stay

The Hostel is in a quiet area of the town. 1.6 km from the center of Sønderborg. Courtyard was nice. Game room and kitchen were ok.

No staff at the reception, very impersonal. The room was very basic and the shower really not up to standard. The night was noisy with a lot of people speaking and shouting in their rooms/corridor. Not the most restful night.
