Great location in the town and also close to the bus routes. Clean, very good communication from the staff when needed.

The room was perfectly adequate for what I needed and had a really nice view north towards the lake and mountains. The location was convenient, within easy reach of Interlaken city centre, which was important for my stay. The accommodation was fairly straightforward to find, and accessing the building was easy. There was a shared kitchen with a good-sized fridge, which was useful, as well as a shared balcony. There is also a bakery next door, which was very convenient for getting breakfast in the morning.

After arriving, I read some of the other reviews, many of which were quite negative. I cannot confirm or comment on issues mentioned by other guests that I did not personally experience, but there were several things from my own stay that I feel could be improved. Despite the name, this is not really a hotel, as there is no reception or breakfast, although this was made clear in the email before arrival. What was not made clear was that there is a bar directly underneath the accommodation. I found that I needed to keep my windows closed at night in order to get a good night's sleep. The shared kitchen itself was a useful facility and was clean, but the equipment and contents could do with being checked more regularly. For example, during my stay there appeared to be only knives available rather than a full selection of cutlery. One of the drawers also contained several broken glass vases, which seemed rather odd and should really be removed. The lighting and electrical setup in my room could also be improved. There was a wall-mounted bedside lamp, but it was not connected to a socket, making it unusable. The kettle cable was too short to reach a socket from the side table, so I had to place the kettle on the floor to use it. The electrical setup generally did not inspire confidence, with several appliances connected to one extension lead that was left dangling partway up from the floor. My biggest disappointment was not being provided with an Interlaken Guest Card, which is normally available to overnight guests and provides free or discounted public transport and other benefits in the area. I contacted the accommodation to query this but received no response. There was also no follow-up or communication to ask how my stay was. Overall, the accommodation met my basic needs, but there are a number of relatively straightforward things that could be improved, particularly the kitchen equipment, electrical setup and communication with guests.
