I had a modest room with one double and 2 single beds. There was no AC, but there was a ceiling fan and a pedestal fan, these were used every night as the climate in Tortuguero is hot and humid. The hotel was located a short distance from the ocean, but swimming was unsafe due to strong currents. Short walk into town, many restaurants.
There was no soap provided and safe drinking water had to be poured by hand from a large 5 gallon jug. Coffee was often provided, but no milk or cream, and sometimes no sugar. I was told ahead of time I’d be able to pay with a credit card, but this turned out to not be true.

Great location in Tortuguero (close to the sea and center of town, no busy street), it's clean, bathroom is quite decent, free coffee and water refill, friendly staff.

Tortuguero is an amazing and special place. This accomodations is linked to a really good guide and tour operator. Friendly, knowledgeable local people. Kayaking and turtle watching where fabulous.
It's very basic, no AC and a poor ceiling fan. However in the context of the cost the location made up for it. 2 mins from beach and a nice outdoor cold shower. It's backpacker basic.
