This is civilized camping, not glamping. It is authentic Berber experience. The host, Moha could not have shown more hospitality. We spent two nights including an excellent camel sunset ride and a full day 4x4 tour including lunch with a Berber family, touring cultural sites. The camp food was excellent. Our experience was well beyond our expectations. We did a lot of research before selecting our camp and we could not have chosen better. The camp location is at the base of one of the largest dunes and closer to the dunes than most camps. It is also smaller than many of the more commercialized camps thus offering authenticity and more privacy.

- Camp host (Said) took wonderful care of us
- Small camp (~10 tents, and we were the only guests)
- Stunning location on the far side of the dunes; 90min sunrise hike into the big dunes right from camp
- 4x4 day tour & lunch with a local family
- Delicious traditional Moroccan food
- Incredible value at ~$50/nt (dinner and activities for reasonable extra fee)
We were looking for a luxury camp where we could just appreciate the desert as it is without the over-the-top charades and unnecessary extra amenities. This was perfect. Said made our visit unique and ensured it was the highlight of our 20 day trip to Morocco!
- Camel trek/guide was mediocre (but still worthwhile)
- Hot water was finicky in one of our tents but worked perfectly in the other

We had a wonderful family stay at Camping Assif N’Itran in Merzouga. The welcome was warm, and the accommodation was comfortable and well-suited for families. Located in the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes, the setting is truly stunning. Between camel rides, lively evenings, and relaxing moments, the Saharan experience was both authentic and unforgettable. A perfect place to discover the desert in complete serenity.

Qu il soit devant la dune, et petit camp avec peu de tentes
On a l impression que c est un camp abandonné, tente très chaude la journée et très froide la nuit, salle de bain déplorable, de plus pas d eau chaude.
Pas d endroit pour être à l ombre alors qu il y a une gloriette toute rouillée ,qui pourrait être recouverte d une toile claire de tente; dehors des lanternes avec des boîtiers électriques ouvert avec un tourné vis abandonné sur place!, une salle à manger pas soignée avec encore des décorations de Noel toutes poussiéreuses .Apres le 4/4 qui nous a laissé plus tôt que prévu , on est resté toute l AM en attendant d aller marcher pour le coucher de soleil, plaque contre le mur pour avoir de l ombre, bref très dommage , car cela pourrait être bien ,mais visiblement le chef de camp ne fait rien pour améliorer la situation.
De grâce, enlever le mot “deluxe” du nom de votre camp!!!! Par contre un bonus pour le cuisinier
