I stayed a few nights because I was working close by. Always better to get a house than a hotel. This place was beautiful. I could stare out at the lake for hours. The cabin was very cozy. I will be back here.

Celeste was who I was to contact when there was a problem. I texted her the morning after we arrived because I was up until 11:00 PM drying and folding laundry that was left in the dryer, it was over filled with towels and bed linens. The lint trap was full and could have started a fire. There were not enough towels for 4 adults and 1child because the dryer was not working properly. She told me a technician was going to look at it, but no one came while we were there. The garage can in the outside utility room smelled so terribly bad, she said she would come by and clean it which never happened. The tub with the jets was dirty and had hair in it, we had to clean it before it could be used. The dishwasher was not properly installed, the refrigerator did not have water lines hooked up to make ice or dispense water. The beds mattress and pillows had stains, were old and musky smelling. There was dust and dirt on door facings, window sills, behind and under tables, dressers and TV’s. I had to wash all the pots, pans and cooking utensils before I could use them.
The view was the only thing that was nice. Don’t come with the expectation of fishing with out a boat or hiring a guide as most of the property is private or very hard to get to, or a distance away from the unit.
I owned and operated a cleaning service for years and this would never passed my inspection. I’m not sure if anyone checks on the cleaning service but maybe they should. Not worth the money we paid!

This property worked very well for my family. The location is great, the unit was cleaned thoroughly and was quite comfortable. There was a mix up at check-in, but the site manager has now corrected everything. We would return to this unit.

This place was as advertised but better. Excellent accommodations. Had everything you could want or need for a restful vacation. 4 of us were in our party and we never felt cramped. Plenty of supplies for cooking and sleeping. Location was great as it was off the street so we were secluded. There are other townhouses with this one but the owners/occupants were not there when we were.
We were only there a few days so we didn’t have an extended stay.
I would recommend this as a place to stay if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Property was beautiful, great view of the lake. Lake access/swimming access is kind of difficult to find around this lake. Additionally, not many restaurants around. Property itself was nice though.

The place was quiet and had a nice view. What I did not expect my $532.44 to get me was the things I have listed below.
My expectation was to have a nice relaxing weekend for my wife's birthday. We actually ended up leaving on Sat evening. I feel as if I should demand a refund due to the uncomfortable situation provided.
I realize you may live out of the area and could possibly not even be aware of the condition of the unit. I hope these things could be corrected so that the next renters could have a more comfortable and enjoyable time at this rental.
We experienced the following that I feel was unacceptable.
1. Hand Rail on Stairs was loose and pulled away from the wall (Health and Safety violation)
2. Sky Light cover in shower was cracked and broken
3. Toilet seat was damaged
4. Towels were old and had bleach stains on them!!!!
5. While the view was nice, it was hard to enjoy due to neither balcony being swept and had lots of debris/spider webs
6. Outside furniture needed to cleaned in order to enjoy an meal outside
7. Standing Water in the flower pot ( Mosquito farm basically) added to not being able to enjoy the balcony
8. Dirty dishes in the cabinets when pulled out and had to be washed before using them.
9. 1/2 of a broiler pan that was in the oven and dirty.
10. Spiders and insect inside unit
Needless to say, it was a very dissapointing weekend!!!

Absolutely beautiful view and solitude,
unit was unlocked and heat not on when we arrived. gas log fireplace was wonderful, gas fire table on deck was great and we had the view,peace and quiet we had hoped for, Comfortable kitchen, dining and living rooms comfortable beds and clean bathrooms.
Terrible weather (cold and black ice ) owner was nice enough to extend our stay one night at no charge because the drive was to icy to leave at check-out. Unfortunately the family that had rented it showed up and there was confusion with the rental company as to cancellation.

Of all of the VRBO places we have rented, this is the worst up kept. Dresser drawers were broken. Sink stopper is broken, toilet paper holder about to fall off, oven door handle is falling off. Manager thought everything is a easy fix. WELL FIXIT

We had 3 of a 12-person group staying at this location. The unit was clean, and the bathrooms were taken are of as well as the beds being made. The amenities need an upgrade and/or repair. For example - the Dining room area table, the chairs rungs - need to be repaired - they were coming out of the pedestal connections and my Brother-in-law almost fell down. The back bedroom had a sink that has a partial clog, and the running water did not flow freely. The beds in both rooms had a downward slant at the head and the overuse of a Febreze like substance was overpowering for those in the party with lung and breathing issues. In the kitchen the stove burners do set flat - therefore the pans lean to one side or the other. The pans themselves are barely non-stick anymore and needed to be scrubbed before use after being placed in the dishwasher. The items that were put away, like pots and dishes and glasses were not dry and required rinsing and drying again before use. We travel a bit and for the price we paid we expected these type(s) of things to be adequately handled. The intention here is not to slam anyone but to inform. We are not looking for money back or anything like that. We were asked by the owner not to hold back on our comments. We hope that this helps and that the next time - the next family reunion in a few years that these issues will have been resolved.

Perfect views
This was one of the easiest rentals I’ve experienced. The description of the townhouse was exactly as described. The townhouse had wonderful views and provided us with all the amenities we needed for a nice stay. We loved coffee on the decks. It was peaceful and relaxing. The location is remote from the bustle of cars and tourists and provided a great jump off point for our hiking trips. We liked having the ability to hike in both TN and NC.

We chose this rental due to location and proximity of the lake. The town home was perfect for our needs. The view of the lake is beautiful. Perfect for morning coffee!

The place was so cozy and welcoming, we really enjoyed our stay. The views and surrounding areas were amazing! Celeste was super helpful with checking in and very communicative if we had any questions during our stay. Will 10/10 stay here again and recommend to anyone looking to vacation around the area.

We really enjoyed our stay at Vol Hollow. The views are amazing, the condo is spacious, and the property is clean and quiet. It was a very comfortable and cozy stay. It is about a 15 minute drive to Mountain City for food/groceries. It was about a 30-40 minute drive to Bristol (which was the reason for our visit). Highly recommend this property and will come back.
