Nice location and view. Old house with character well equipped but needing serious refreshments to be comfortable for more than a weekend ( bathrooms out of age , water leaking from upstairs bathroom in the dining room…)

OK, so i have no idea why I'm getting this review request from Vrbo. You cancelled our reservation without any notice or explanation. You didn't collect the amount due, so after we arrived, we heard from the property manager. This was all very concerning and not how I wanted to start my vacation. The property itself, if you are again handling it - I have no clue - is a very cute lakehouse, built right on the shore of Lake Ontario, probably in the 20s or 30s. Furnished with antiques and flea market finds, it's very charming and clearly a labor of love. Whoever does the housekeeping, however, is clearly not doing a labor of love. The inside of the kitchen garbage can was very dirty and I don't think the lint trap in the dryer has been cleaned out in a decade. I was amazed it was still functioning. Once we got over the initial difficulties, we had a great time. The area is lovely and just sitting in the back yard, reading in the sun, overlooking the lake, was very peaceful. We came up for a concert and there were a few other things to do in the area, Botanical Gardens, walks along the waterfront.

Beautiful serene space. It is managed by a property management group, so all the comfy amenities are missing from a VRBO experience. Communication was limited to business hours, but they responded quickly during that time. Confusion about check in/out expectations (trash pick up, etc) and access to the basement washer dryer was less than ideal. The place itself was beautiful and well maintained. The outside gorgeous. Fresh flowers in window boxes and landscaped backyard. It would have been helpful to know to expect random people showing up daily for maintenance. We were surprised on more than one occasion with a person in the yard (watering flowers or rearranging the chairs) during the day without notice. Town nearby is really cute. We travelled into niagra and Toronto easily.
