Wonderful property accurately depicted in listing (kitchen was better, actually). Don was responsive & patient at all times including while VRBO resolved issues with their reservation system (not his fault). Had everything we could have wanted with many thoughtful touches. Enjoyed kayaking, swimming, & the nearby state forest. Very comfortable for a group of five to vacation together. Highly recommend.

The house was very nice. The photos don't do it justice. Was perfect for us and the access and views to the water were fantastic. Don was a very responsive and helpful host. Would definitely stay again.

We were looking for a last minute getaway for our anniversary weekend. We knew it was going to be a rainy one so we wanted a porch with a water view and a living room with a fireplace to cozy up in with a good book. Don’s house delivered that and more. Great kitchen, porch and living room with plenty of places to relax. Large bedrooms and two well maintained bathrooms. The house is situated in a great spot on the lake and would definitely be great for a family vacation. Don was a great host, responsive to questions with easy check in and follow up at the end our stay.

This hidden gem was well-appointed, super clean and very comfy — perfect spot for a relaxing stay directly on Lake Pontoosuc. The kayaks and canoes were an added delight and we loved eating outside at the full size table on a grassy yard alongside the water. Our host was helpful and responsive at every step. Will definitely be recommending to others!

My two sisters, my very best childhood friend and I spent a fabulous (much needed) get away here on Pontoosuc Lake. We all needed to re connect and just spend time catching up and laughing, which we did a lot of. Such a beautiful house. We will definitely be back!!! Thanks Don for everything!!

The house was situated on a lovely lake and we enjoyed every minute of it. The kitchen was small but functional. The sun room was lovely but very hot with no a/c in that room, though there was in most of the house. Clean and functional but one shower is tough. Many boating activities and available things (kayaks, canoes etc), Owner came by and was very nice and quite helpful. Again, the lake is beautiful and wonderful to swim in.

Beyond our best expectation!
Our entire family enjoyed a beautiful and relaxing stay at Don's Lakehouse. The house is whatever pictured and described, only nicer and more comfortable. Its evident that someone put their whole heart into making this vacation home a place you want to stay at; down to every last little detail. The outdoors was beyond our best expectation. The host was easy to deal with, accessible and we even got late check out at no extra charge! Another morning to enjoy the sun, the lake, the boats...

Great lake place!
We really enjoyed our time at Don’s beautiful lake house. The location is fabulous, the house has so much charm, the kitchen is well stocked (we cooked a lot), and we enjoyed the dock and paddle boat outings. Would highly recommend!

We visited with our 3 adult sons for a minivacation and had a BLAST!!!! We used the paddle boat and the canoes and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We finished the day with a campfire in the fire pit and roasted marshmallows!! How could it be better?!?

Great house – Fantastic Lake
Great place to relax & enjoy the lake. House is very clean & comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, nicely decorated throughout. Wonderful views from the sunporch & master bedroom. A/C was a plus for those hot muggy days. House is just steps away from the large dock where we had our morning coffee. There are built-in steps for easy access into the water for swimming. The water is clean & clear, you can see to the bottom – no tall lake grass . We enjoyed using the floats & kayaks provided as well as our own paddle boards. We were on the water for hours. Lots of boating activity but not crowded. We had a lot of fun – great vacation.

Wonderful lake house with gracious host!
We loved our stay. The lake is beautiful, the house is perfectly situated for taking advantage of all the lake has to offer, including great water, rope swing - and really appreciate the boats/kayaks available. House is large and comfortable and great for a long stay, with many fun features like old French style kitchen. The host is very communicative and accommodating. We would go back!

Don’s place is a great spot directly on Lake Pontoosuc, which is perfect for kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing. He was a responsive host and the place was clean upon arrival. We had a great time (even though the weather wasn’t perfect) and would recommend.
