Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and one mile from the heart of downtown Brevard, home of the white squirrel. White Oak Cottage boasts of two bedrooms, one bath, scenic porch, and a cozy sunroom. Seated in a quiet neighborhood off the main road leading into town, this home is the perfect location for cyclists wanting quick access to both downtown routes and mountainous loops. Only 10 minutes to Pisgah National Forest and 20 minutes to Dupont State Forest offering hundreds of miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking. An open front porch provides scenic views of the mountains and beautiful sunsets. It also has a detached storage space containing a bike rack and room for all your gear. It’s the perfect destination for the outdoor enthusiast who travels with their kayaks, bikes, and outdoor equipment. From recently modernized shiplap walls and exposed brick, to the new fixtures and appliances, you’ll rest comfortably with both king and queen beds, two TV's with Amazon Fire Stick, WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room, and a rustic, electric fireplace. Enjoy the coffee bar and quiet sunroom in the mornings while utilizing the gas grill in the evenings as you watch the sun set over the gorgeous mountaintops. White Oak Cottage is the perfect getaway. We’ve been coming to this area for years. This is the perfect cottage just on the edge of town. Five minutes to downtown Brevard and all the great shops. And a short distance to Pisgah and DuPont forests. The cottage is so very well kept and clean. Spacious and cozy at the same time. The owners have put lots of thought and heart into all the renovations. It’s the perfect home away from home. We hope to return again and again!

I think that this was the cleanest place I've ever been, that didn't perform surgeries. I actually challenged myself to find something dirty, and I couldn't. Not in a corner, under a bed, on a window sill, anywhere.
The house was very well stocked, and decorated nicely. The furniture is clean and comfortable.
We didn't have any issues and the owners were very helpful and friendly.
I like to stay at rentals that are managed by the owners because I find they usually go the extra mile, and don't skimp on things like dishwasher soap and toilet paper. Richard and Denise went well past the extra mile. As I said earlier, the house was very well stocked with not only the necessities, but quite a few extras.
We will likely stay here again.

Our stay was absolutely perfect. Denise had everything we need and the muffins were delicious. The house was so clean and tidy, this was by far the best rental we have stayed at. We were visiting Brevard for the first time for our friends’ wedding weekend with family and friends. We had a really great time, thank you for making our stay so effortless!

This home is beautiful and so clean! It is stocked with everything you need plus extras like fresh blueberry muffins and a basket of packaged snacks. The hosts are so kind and helpful. The area is fun with lots of outdoor activities available and Downtown Brevard has a nice downtown area for shopping and dining. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay at this property again!

The owners are so nice and seem to have gone out of their way to make sure that they included everything possible to make for a pleasant stay. We are so thankful we decided to stay here and hope to return some time in the future.

Brevard is a great little mountain town, and there are numerous awesome hikes within 20 or so minutes from here. This house is a great home base for a vacation in Brevard and surrounding areas!

The White Oak Cottage proved to be everything we'd hoped for, and more, during our several weeks in Brevard.
Only minutes away from downtown and the Brevard Music Center, located near the edge of town, this well furnished, recently restored older house, with it's attractive landscaping with lots of flowers, large trees, white and gray squirrels, and variety of birds, was perfect for us.
The owners, Rick and Denise, do an amazing job providing a very clean and well maintained property.
We're definitely looking forward to returning.

The cottage is VERY clean and up to date.
There are so many added features that made the stay very
enjoyable. Black out curtains in the bedrooms, plus shades. Heater/fan in the bathroom. The owners are so nice, they even had snacks and muffins awaiting for us.
It is a very short drive to Brevard. We will definitely stay at the White Oak Cottage on our next visit to Brevard.

I've stayed here several times and have thoroughly enjoyed my stay every time!
This home was recently renovated with high quality materials and finishes. It is very nicely furnished and decorated and the beds are very comfortable. There is an outbuilding for storing and working on bikes. It's also located in a quiet area minutes away from downtown Brevard.
Denise and Rick are also very kind and accommodating hosts.

Lovely VRBO! Everything was beautiful, the house was spotless and so welcoming! I loved all the little touches from the handmade shelves and kitchen table to the remodeled bathroom with ceramic tile. It was perfect for a family of 4 adults and we loved our stay at the white oak cottage!! The white squirrel was pretty fun to watch too:) Denise and Rick are awesome hosts!! Thanks for a wonderful experience!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at White Oak cottage. The owners keep the place super clean and made such an effort to make us feel welcome. Denise was even so kind as to bake us some delicious homemade muffins and leave some yummy snacks and drinks as well. We felt so comfortable there. Would absolutely stay there again and highly recommend to others as well!
To note for future renters: The fireplace is electric, so you don’t need to bring your own logs. Also, the coffee pot uses ground coffee, no k-cups but the owners had some nice coffee and tea options available on site. Just thought I’d mention to save anyone from any needless packing/shopping.
Also, side note, word to the wise: the fireplace can be tricky to start - you aim the remote towards the bottom right of the grate and it should start on up for you 😉

Enjoyed by Mountain Bikers
This was our second visit to this property. The home’s amenities and its location were ideal for us as we rode mountain bikes and attended the Pisgah Stage Race. We chatted with Rick and Denise several times over the course of our visit. They are wonderful hosts.

Of all the properties we’ve stayed in over the years, this home was our favorite including our 15 yo son. Very well appointed and little thoughtful touches made us feel welcome. Location was excellent to downtown. The bike storage was space was great! Looking forward to visiting again

We have stayed in numerous VRBO properties in the last several years and none have matched the important like-home quality provided by this rental. Denise and Rick rehabilitated this older home into a super-nice cottage that is convenient to everything and lacks nothing.in the way of amenities.. Best place to stay in Brevard!
White Oak Cottage is a lovely home in which to stay. It’s clean, quiet, & private. The white squirrels & birds are truly entertaining. The Wilsons are attentive hosts who know the area well. The storage shed is very handy if traveling with outdoor gear. We will definitely book again.

Great Experience
This property met and exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect place to vacation while visiting the many waterfalls in the area. The house had everything we needed. We enjoyed having the bird feeder outside the dining room window, where we could watch the birds and white squirrels each morning and evening. The decor and furnishings were very nice.
