Nestled in Bennington, this charming house for $260 per night is a great option for your next break. This lovely family home was built in 1828. The home is furnished with fine antiques. Located on over two acres of gardens, lawns and meadow, the house is just down the street from the historic Bennington Battle Monument in the Village of Old Bennington. The first floor has a formal library-styled parlor, perfect for a quiet read. The family room, the original Old Kitchen, has a wood burning fireplace. It is a great place to gather for enjoying a drink and watching the fire or a bit of TV. Meals can be enjoyed in the separate dining room or in the updated kitchen at the antique kitchen table. One bedroom is conveniently located on the first floor. The bedroom has a queen bed and a full bathroom with a tub/shower. Second Floor: Upstairs, there are two bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms. There is also a cozy T.V. room. One bedroom overlooks the back garden through a large bay window. Each bedroom has one double bed and one twin bed.The sleeping porch with one twin bed is enclosed and usable throughout the winter. The upstairs full bath has a vintage deep claw-footed tub. A half bath is adjacent to the sleeping porch. Local Attractions: There are many local Bennington attractions, including the Bennington Battle Monument, the Old First Church, where poet Robert Frost is buried, the Bennington Museum, which includes works of the famous primitive artist, Grandma Moses, the Covered Bridge Museum and the Bennington Pottery. Bennington College is only a ten minute drive away, through the Silk Bridge, one of Vermont's remaining working covered bridges. Bennington is only twenty minutes from Manchester Center and outlet shopping. A twenty minute drive to the south is Williamstown, Massachusetts and the Clark Art Institute. Several ski areas, Stratton Mountain and Bromely are also with an hour drive. The Famous Vermont Country Store, in Weston, is an beautiful 45 minute drive.
