The pool area was nice and the staff were friendly
We were sadly disappointed with our stay and were really confused about all the positive reviews. We felt it was a lot of money compared to other options on the island and regretted our decision of picking residence reale. We almost requested to leave to a new hotel on our first night but decided it wasn’t worth the drama. The disappointment was in the apartment itself - they are very weirdly laid out.. there was a television but it was in the kitchen and there isn’t anywhere to relax and watch the tv? The kitchen facilities were poor and we struggled to cook what we wanted. The kitchen kettle had to be on the ground because there weren’t any plugs?
The apartments were not private at all - each balcony looks onto the next (why put up see through trellis?). The WiFi also barely worked so we had to sit outside in the rain to download things to watch (on an iPad since the tv was pointless). We enjoyed our time on Elba but would have preferred to book elsewhere and saved the money.
